- Though The Gunk is not a flawless game, such shortcomings as it has are relatively minor when all is said and done. The lingering sentiment that stays with me regarding the game at this point is one of overwhelming positivity- a positivity that is a composite of emotions such as awe, empathy, wonderment, curiosity, an investment in its narrative and storytelling, and an appreciation for how expertly it builds on and emphasizes its own narrative strengths.
When all is said and done, The Gunk is fantastic, and it is heartily recommended to just about anyone. - Ігри

This is a great review. Was on the fence but I just got a series S and I’ll have to pick this one up on gamepass.
Started playing last night and surprisingly it drew me in. It's a nice game with cute protagonist from what could be a Pixar film. And...it was giving 50g per achievement! I got like 300g for the amount of time I played!
Was a nice break from my LASO run on halo infinite. Really well written and even as someone who isn’t into this type of game really I truly loved it. Would love to see what this studio could do with some real money and support. 9/10

Stupid of me, but get the feeling this would have been better in 2d with great liquid physics like pixeljunk shooter. Don't know why I visualise this

I'm confused! ACG gave this a wait for a deep deep sale or just play on gamepass. He also said it's bland and you gave this a 9 ? This game is no 9! Plus you gave kena bridge of spirits a 8 ? Really.
It looks great and it's not that bad overall but it almost overstayed it's welcome. The only knocks I can give it is the voice acting gets stagnant and annoying quick. They argue over same freaking things as you advance through new areas. Game play is nothing ground breaking at all and its more fun on Luigi's Mansion and Mario Sunshine. 6/10 because of visuals. If it didn't look as good as it does, easily a 5 at best.
Almost slept on this completely, glad I watched this review as it totally made me wanna sink my teeth in to the game as soon as possible!

Just launched the game re started the PC and relaunched it The character and all sorts of other environmental rocks and everything at the beginning keep disappearing and reappearing rapidly flashing
Probably a driver issue. I've had a couple of instances on Series X where the collision detection is missing from areas you need to climb on but there were ways around it . Overall it feels smooth and polished though.
@@DEVILTAZ35 if I position the camera angle very specific spots depending on where I'm at I can make it almost stop but my character can disappear while parts of its outfit is there entire boulders mushrooms or anything of the sort just vanishes and then reappears rapidly like a strobe light

Haven’t played it so I cant really say either way but a 5 or 6 is what I would give something like drakes hollow but this deserves higher than that.

Looks F-in amazing
This game is a pleasant surprise. Just a very chill experience that is enjoyable. I was turned off at first as people were saying it was like No Mans Sky.

It could be a sleeper hit , who knows. At least it was released unlike Spawn lol. That game looks even less interesting and yet is delayed a year.
recently discovered this channel and enjoyed the lists of hidden gems of the year etc, but i m sorry, as much as i loved their previous games, if you think this boring game for 10 year olds is a 9/10 game i m done with this channel, i cant take your reviews seriously into consideration on what i should spent money on...

Mediocre game 71 on Metacritic and 72 on OpenCritic...
So? Mw2 got a 50~60 and yet it’s considered one of, or if not the best call of duty games in the franchise... If you don’t like the game, that’s fine but I don’t think a single metacritic score is the best thing to go by... because you gotta admit that the art style of the game in this video is just.... it’s amazing for sure.
No combat??? That's a deal breaker for me.
There is combat actually. You can upgrade to a Laser weapon but it's not the main focus which is exploration and puzzling. There is still achievements linked to combat though. I did a cool one where i threw creatures at each other lol
@@DEVILTAZ35 Oh ok...the game does look good not going to lie, but I need a combat system to be truly satisfied. Exploration is just not enough. Exactly what are you exploring for? To upgrade your gunk suction arm? Even then do what? Suck up more gunk?

Just played an HR of this and while I can tell you this game isn't for me . I'm sure kids would love it . It's a kid game and does that very well .. def 8.5/10 so far lol

I was surprised you can still die. Falling is pretty easy if you don't watch what you are doing lol. Especially parts where it drips deadly stuff from the ceiling.
This piece of shit is no better than a 7/10 of not much lower based on my eye test and other reviews explain the game mechanic is boring.
So many much better games getting much lower score. Whoever gave this 9/10 need to lose their job.

There was a time when every time I saw a notification of a new video from GamingBolt I was enthusiastic to go and watch it, now that's not the case anymore, a bad game with woke elements is praised by Gamingbolt no matter what, I'll be passing on tons of your videos, ACG does it much, much better.

They often are . I don't tend to worry too much about IGN or Gamespot reviews anymore. There are tons of better reviewers on UA-cam than the main sites.

I don't trust these scores. Devs are quickly finding out that adding a black female protagonist to their game will net them a high score. On top of that she's disabled. I don't know if these reviews are genuine or if I have to subtract 2 points from this game due to virtue signaling and bias. Don't get me wrong, the choice of character isn't a knock on the game, it's actually refreshing, but the amount of virtue-signaling and bias in the media is seeping over into games as well. I'm not looking for someone to make a statement, I just want the truth. The game looks very repetitive and other reviews mention this, but it's absent from this one. I'm curious. I'm a GPU subscriber so I'll try this game with ZERO RISK, but I just found this review interesting. Square Enix must be salivating at anticipating Forespoken review scores.
Edit: Just beat the game and enjoyed it. A 7 is about right. Loved the characters and the story was ironically timely. A savior promises you salvation but makes you slaves in the process.

The reviewer thinks the game is a 9/10. Other reviewers don't. I personally don't think it should score more than a 6 but I'm not gonna bring the protagonist's race into it as that is just daft. You need to grow tf up!

Not only does the gunk look boring as shit, but the gunk will quickly be forgotten about in a few months. With Sifu, Crossfire X, horizon forbidden west, tiny tina's wonderlands and saints row remake all coming in February, no one will give a fuck about the gunk by then. In the meantime i'll play Halo Infinite instead of this crap!
It has puzzles and the world is interesting to explore. There is also lore to discover from a previous generation 200 years prior. It has a bit of a Tombraider vibe in that regard.
