I never thought about how to handle the TV cable on a DBW setup. Great information to have and something no one ever explained in the plethora of LS Swap videos I've watch over the past couple of years. That's why I love watching your videos. Seems like I learn something new every video.
Thanks PJ! It was something we've been asked about a lot, but never had the opportunity to make a video about. Did you go to the NSRA show in Springfield last weekend?
@@UglyTruckExperience No, I had family stuff going on but I did see some of the hot rods cruising down Glenstone and some on Sunshine as well while I was out. Looks like it was a blast.
You guys are the best, this pedal works perfectly and I'm so grateful for you taking the time to modify this pedal for my build. Amazed you got the geometry correct. And it fits under the dash no problem.
AWESOME!!! We're happy to hear that! We appreciate you joining the drawing and watching our stuff. Can you send us a picture when you have a moment? We'd love to check it out! Thanks Kai!! 👍
Thank you guys. This is quite ingenous. Far superior to anything i could have made. I am very grateful. Nothing like this exists for purchase i could find. Im going to put it on first thing in the morning. Hopefully it goes smoothly.
Your very welcome. I tried to point the cable toward the grommet for the original cable. You will have to put the pedal together and then feed the cable through the firewall going down to your transmission. Let us know how it goes. Jerry and Emily.
@@UglyTruckExperience I will. This is the most detailed video on this subject on the internet. Hopefully this helps more people than just me. I hope I didn't hurt my transmission driving it home with no cable hooked up. I think I did tbh. I'll find out tomorrow. I could not help myself I just had to drive it home.
This is great, you’re solving problems way before we get to that point. So getting an LS, and no trans, plus a C10 that’s already running a 700R4, here’s the missing link! It’s like Jeopardy; you have the answer, I need to find the question! I love this channel, keep it going.
Love all your Videos. It's a Throttle VALUE cable, not Throttle Vacuum. I've found that getting the throttle travel-to-TV cable travel correct most difficult. It is not a 1-to-1 ratio. My adventure in this was getting a TV cable to work on 2 sideways mounted 2 barrel Webbers powering an 1961 inline 6. For me, it was the most difficult task of the whole dang car. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks Joe. Looks like I have been referring to it incorrectly forever. Other people are saying it is throttle valve. Whatever it is called, they really do have to be just right and setting it up with a couple of Webbers would have been a chore. Thanks for watching. Jerry
@@UglyTruckExperience It may help to think of it this way. A "TV cable" is an 'analog' TPS. A "throttle position sensor" before they put the "E" in transmissions...
Any chance you 2 are going to the big car show in iola Wisconsin July 6-8? Looks like they are expecting 100k people. Might be a good way to grow the channel and sell shirts. Me and Karla are thinking about going and would like to meet you and Jerry. Looks like 430 miles or so and our 72 K10 might fit in the survivor class. It is original except for a factory color repaint and a 2 inch hockey puck lift😊
That would be awesome! One day we hope to have time to go to more shows like that, but right now we just don't have time. We're going to the C10 Cruise 'N Show in Springfield, Mo in September, but that's the only show we're going to this year. We'll make it up your way one of these days and check out your K10! Thanks Bill!
Hello, how are you? I wanted to ask you to see if you recommend something to start my ls swap. I have finished all the change of the engine and the electrical part. I have 56 psi in the line. The engine tries to start but it does not keep starting. The computer is as it was. in the other 2003 silverado I will have to do some programming
Hi Ivan! If your engine is stock, it sounds like you just need to have the VATS (security system) turned off on your computer. Check out LT1swap.com, he does all our programming. Here's a link to a video with more info! We appreciate you watching, and hope this helps! ua-cam.com/video/otPF2laSGwc/v-deo.html
Hi , is there a way i can buy one for my 86 c10? Im doing a 5.3 dbw and i also want to keep my 700r4 till i save up for the transmission , thanks in advance
Hello Andres. Sorry for this late response. These pedals are very difficult to get just right. We did this video to maybe give some ideas on how it could be done, but I don't think we have heard from anybody that was satisfied with the cable and the 700r4. Even if it takes a bit longer, you would be much happier with the 4l60e and possibly money ahead. Thanks. Jerry and Emily
We built this pedal as a challenge mostly and was hoping to give people an Idea of how they could do it if they needed. It was hard to make a pedal that would make the 700r4 shift the right way being powered by a LS engine. Most people that we have heard from that have done this ended up going with 4L60e eventually and saved themselves some headaches. Thanks. Jerry
I had the cable pointed through the original grommet for the accelerator. I have always referred to it as the throttle vacuum. I guess because it replaced the vacuum modulator. Looks I like I have been referring to it incorrectly for years. Thanks Rob.
I hope you didn’t take offense. None was meant. Please keep this kind of content coming!!! You are figuring out a lot of the little issues that I have been pondering. (Wishing I was at the lake?) I used to build transmissions at a Ford dealership back in the eighties. Thanks again to you both! Rob
No offense. I really do like it when somebody points those things out. If I have been calling it the wrong thing for all these years that is hilarious. I'm just going to call it a TV cable from now on just in case. We're there any Ford transmissions the had them? Thanks again. Jerry
@@UglyTruckExperience I mostly worked on the C4/C6 back in the eighties which used a kick-down lever. The AOD came out somewhere in that timeframe but I honestly cannot remember if it had a TV or not. The last time I cracked open a Ford transmission was Nov '89.
