Tejas engine mounts position the engine, so the oil pan is level with the crossmember, the intake fits under the hood, and the a/c compressor fits between the frame rails in the stock location without any modifications.
Thanks Clayton. We have worked with Tejas mounts in the past and they do work good for some applications. In a stock square body they raise the nose of the engine up and because the transmission is already tight in the tunnel, it makes it impossible to raise the tail for the correct driveshaft angle. It also raises the left stock exhaust manifold which will not fit in the frame and forces you to do something different for manifolds. The compressor does fit inside the frame in the stock bracket, but the frame still has to be notched in order to run the lines to compressor. Thanks for your comment. We appreciate it. Thanks Joseph. The frames on the older vehicles we're already a little weak in the front, I just never liked messing with them. I'm interested in being entered into the drawing for the AC bracket. Hello Prevost. I'm not sure yet. We did sell a few to some people doing OBS and have not heard yet how well it fits. I have redesigned this bracket already and use a tensioner and not the stretch fit belt. Thanks. Jerry
@@UglyTruckExperience Maybe you’ll have one that you can create some content on soon. There’s a ton of good info on swapping square body trucks but very little on the OBS . There use to be a UA-camr that came up with a kit that he was offering but apparently he ran into some legal issues selling it so he deleted his channel completely.🤷🏽♂️

whoa jerry....lil outta practice on welding..i blame mine on parkinsons or oldtimers i forget which is witch....no T-handle for tap?....lil design help from Uncle Martin??.... very nice, didn't show how you get that back bolt in? gonna have to use long 1/4 inch drive extension ? ...reading comments n sounds like a very simple option for donor AC, so curious now im sure by now you guys have another item to add to merch store, with plenty of interest have you designed a jig for mass production? I'd be interested in helping or machinist 3gunshooter60 might be a better option, jig wud do away with using block n compressor n only need all peices cut n placed in jig to be welded up...if you can make a measured drawing i'd be interested in making you a jig to use for production. just a thot, i'll take one come next spring hope to be knee deep into my '81 swap, fingers crossed...nice welding emily surprise jerry with a +1.5 or +2.0 magnifying lens for his hood n helping weld up all those AC brackets...until next video i missed over summer, bye
Hello Jon. I have redesigned that bracket since that video. We will do another one on that subject shortly.. I ended up not liking the stretch fit belt and designed one with a tensioner. I have built a jig to do them which makes it so much nicer. Emily has been a great welder from the day she learned, but I am sure some corrective welding lenses would help for sure. Thanks for watching and keep the comments coming. We enjoy it. Jerry
Lots of work when they make different mounts and brackets to simplify it! Good job though! Nothing like manual labor which nobody appreciates these days
Thanks John. It really was a ton of work. Lately we have have a had few trucks in here and noticing at car shows all of the frames that have been cut. Just one of those things that I have always wanted to try to do. I am a huge fan of manual labor as you can see. I hope this manual labor thing starts to catch on. Thank you for watching. I used the Dirt dingo sliders on my 77. Notched frame some and cut the rear bolt hole ear off for the compressor bracket.😢 Kept it in stock position. Well this will definitely be helpful on my 81 c10 ls swap Ill be starting in like 5 months. So put me in the drawing for the custom UTE a/c bracket that I could use on the 81.

@@UglyTruckExperience I had a lokar shifter on my 77 c10 ls and didn't like it because it would pop it up it to neutral every once in a while. So I took all that off. DId it with the original shift linkage and took the piece off a gm 350turbo the way you guys showed in the video for the yellow 78 c10. Works absolutely awesome. Thanks again

Jerry starts his day in a huff He can't find his CNC stuff. Calm reason comes into play "Ya don't own one", Emily say A bracket for an LS Square Physique Will be the UTE build 4 this week. FABed in-house by Jerry D Professor, Custom bracket 4 D AC compressor. Being square has no negatives here. KOOL under hood, soon will B there. Presses will drill, Grinders will grind. Wrenches will turn, Welders will bind. Jerry clamps and angles does measure Emily an' Hobart stack dimes together. All begins to take the perfect shape Pets are retrieved from their escape The final result is a must to behold. Now it's late, I am so politely told. Many more brackets will be made All will, most surely, make D grade. An LS Swap you say you're doing? Leave a comment now, W/O moaning. Tell Emily n' Jerry all about Ur project. Made me cringe when Jerry was grinding and welding on the bracket that was bolted to the engine and was potentially sending metal shavings down the open exhaust valves. I would put some tape over the exhaust ports. Good job.
Thanks Dave! Jerry has since redesigned this bracket, so we'll have an updated video coming soon. He's probably built 15 brackets on this engine since then, and we've played around with the idea of just throwing it in something, but I'm sure it'll be torn down and sent to the machine shop someday. If I remember right, it had a pretty good lifter tick, even before all the metal shavings... 😆 We appreciate you tuning in! --Emily
I did try doing that on the prototype, and the 2 bolt holes were larger than 10mm, so it was still off just a bit. I ended up having to adjust it the same way I did in the video by wallowing out the holes a little bit. Thanks for watching! Jerry and Emily

@@UglyTruckExperience I’m interested in buying one from you. You’re on to something here. So we all have seen the kits you can buy that require brackets and a new compressor. Which I will do or was going to do. This means I have this factory compressor here that has no demand to sell and no use because it doesn’t fit a swap. How many get tossed out? I would be perfectly happy running that in the original location. I’ve slotted my transmission crossmember and have the dingo mounts. There is a lot of room to move it forward and I’m not opposed to cutting the crossmember. Are you selling those or having them made?

I know every build is different, and it’s impossible to give an exact figure, but can you give your viewers a rough estimate of strictly your labor costs charged to a customer of an average square body C10 ls swap?
That is something that we get asked quite a bit in comments. We have been doing some live shows and have another coming up, that is something we should probably address. Like you said, it is very hard to come up with that exact number but it is nice to give somebody a close estimate and do your best to stay in that budget. I am always upfront with letting people know the last one we did was 13,500. It was about half parts and half labor. Thanks Salvatore. Jerry

Thanks Blake! We'll put your name in the drawing! It will be June 25 at 8:00 PM. Hope to see you there!
I love watching your videos. You guys are awesome… thank you thank you thank you …now wouldn’t it be easier to notch the frame and then reinforce it?
Thanks Joseph. The frames on the older vehicles we're already a little weak in the front, I just never liked messing with them. For us, building a bracket that I can use on any vehicle that comes through the shop and not having to mess with the frame just makes it that much easier for us. Thanks for watching. Jerry and Emily
I have a 87 square body my first square body I’ve ever bought and I’m doing a ls swap with my son and I’m hoping to have it done before he can drive and we would love to be in the drawing we love watching y’all’s videos “ALRIGHT” “YEP” keep up the amazing content hope y’all have a blessed day

Mkay😂?…… kay. This was very …. Very entertaining great job…. So glad this was on the recommended list .
Hello Aldo. Thanks!! We appreciate you watching. Jerry
I'm interested in being entered into the drawing for the AC bracket. I have a few projects that could end up using it, a 72 Chevy stepside that I'm putting a 5.3L from a 2001 Suburban into, and a 84 Chevy K20 that will be getting a 5.3L out of a 2000 Silverado 1500. I also have a 84 Jeep CJ7 that's getting a 4.8L, but that probably won't have AC, and if it does, might not need a bracket for clearance.
Wow, you have as many projects lined up as we do! 🤣 We'll put your name in the hat! The drawing will be June 25 at 8:00 PM Central. Hope to see you there! Thanks Jason! Emily and Jerry

Is the stock compressor location an issue with installation on the GMT400?
Hello Prevost. I'm not sure yet. We did sell a few to some people doing OBS and have not heard yet how well it fits. I have redesigned this bracket already and use a tensioner and not the stretch fit belt. Thanks. Jerry
@@UglyTruckExperience Maybe you’ll have one that you can create some content on soon. There’s a ton of good info on swapping square body trucks but very little on the OBS . There use to be a UA-camr that came up with a kit that he was offering but apparently he ran into some legal issues selling it so he deleted his channel completely.🤷🏽♂️
There really isn't much info out there on them. We don't have one on the schedule, but maybe we will get some feedback soon on the ones that are being done. We would love the opportunity to do one. Thanks. Jerry

whoa jerry....lil outta practice on welding..i blame mine on parkinsons or oldtimers i forget which is witch....no T-handle for tap?....lil design help from Uncle Martin??.... very nice, didn't show how you get that back bolt in? gonna have to use long 1/4 inch drive extension ? ...reading comments n sounds like a very simple option for donor AC, so curious now im sure by now you guys have another item to add to merch store, with plenty of interest have you designed a jig for mass production?
Why not! 😁 We'll throw your name in the hat! Gotta get that 78 back on the road! Hope you can join us for the drawing June 25th at 8:00 PM! Thanks Brandon!

We don't have any experience with the Lokar shifters, but we've heard a lot of people say the same thing. And those things are pricey! Sometimes the simple solution is the answer. Glad it worked out! 👍
Please add me to the drawing. I have a '87 GMC Jimmy, 4" lift, and a soft top. Going to put in a LQ9 with 4L65E. Just finished upgrading the fuel system and installed the front seats from my '02 escalade. Will start pulling the donor apart soon. Thanks for your videos.

Jerry starts his day in a huff
He can't find his CNC stuff.
Calm reason comes into play
"Ya don't own one", Emily say
A bracket for an LS Square Physique
Will be the UTE build 4 this week.
FABed in-house by Jerry D Professor,
Custom bracket 4 D AC compressor.
Being square has no negatives here.
KOOL under hood, soon will B there.
Presses will drill, Grinders will grind.
Wrenches will turn, Welders will bind.
Jerry clamps and angles does measure
Emily an' Hobart stack dimes together.
All begins to take the perfect shape
Pets are retrieved from their escape
The final result is a must to behold.
Now it's late, I am so politely told.
Many more brackets will be made
All will, most surely, make D grade.
An LS Swap you say you're doing?
Leave a comment now, W/O moaning.
Tell Emily n' Jerry all about Ur project.
To enter 2 win, in June, Ur own bracket.
"FABed in-house by Jerry D Professor,

Yeahhhhh. I'll notch the frame, thanks... or come up with something completely different.
Thanks Marc. I can't blame you. We do appreciate you watching and commenting. Thanks again. Jerry
@@UglyTruckExperience Smells like offense masked (poorly) by snark.
--Emily
You should used the Old bracket to transfer the position of the holes
I did try doing that on the prototype, and the 2 bolt holes were larger than 10mm, so it was still off just a bit. I ended up having to adjust it the same way I did in the video by wallowing out the holes a little bit. Thanks for watching! Jerry and Emily
Hey thanks for the heads up I have a question ❓ will the AC compressor fit on a OBS 1990 with out any modifications thanks, plans are to swap a 6.0
We've never done a swap on an OBS, so we couldn't say for sure how they fit. We were just at a car show this weekend and saw a few LS swapped OBS trucks, but didn't think to look at that. Definitely let us know how it goes! Thanks Dave! --Emily

Will this work with a 4wd truck
Hello Jack. Yes, I have one on my 74 K10.
A little fallow up to that, I did have to modify my cross member a bit but It does fit. Jerry
@@UglyTruckExperience
I’m interested in buying one from you.
We have one left here for sale and will be making more soon. Send us an email at uglytruckexperience@gmail.com and we can work out the details there. Thanks Jack! --Emily

Jerry
Appreciate it! Exactly what I was looking for as I’m trying to (roughly) budget for going LS. You guys do great work.
If you skip to 1:18:54 you’ll see a butterfly
🦋🦋 I can't believe we didn't notice that! 🤣 Thanks for tuning in!
And why not just move the AC to the top like the original small block chevy with the relocation top bracket.
There isn't much room on the top because of the air intake. Moving the AC out of the way just frees up some room and just looks nicer. Thanks. Jerry
This is awesome, I’d love to have one ! Would you be willing to make another in exchange for money 😄
We have one left for sale, and will be making more soon. Send us an email at uglytruckexperience@gmail.com and we can work out the details. Thanks for watching!
