What I did was: 1. Disassemble the throttle body, drill a 1/4" hole in the center of the shaft plug on the housing to tap out the shaft out of the housing but, before you do make note of the orientation of the springs. 2. Put it into a lathe and drilled and tapped the blank end of the shaft for a 1.5" x 1/4 stud. I used permanent loctite when installing it. Test fit everything before u loctite it! 3. After reinstalling the shaft back into the housing, find a thick o-ring that fits snugly over the 1/4" stud and slide it all the way to the TB housing. 4. Take the original housing plug u saved flatten it out a little then slide it over the 1/4" shat to the o-ring. It should be tight to the housing not the shaft, if it's tight to the shaft step up the hole size. 5. Get a 1/2" L x 1/4" ID spacer and install it up to the original plug. (It also holds the o-ring tight) 5. Like I said in the video, get an earlier cable driven TB and it the TV cable leaver off of it, drill a 1/4" hole exactly where the center of the shaft was. 6. Then I tig welded a 1/4" locking collar on it so I could lock it to the shaft where I wanted it. 7. Use a nut on the end of the stud for extra security. 8. The adjustment is the same as the original 700R4 TV cable. photos.app.goo.gl/cqzd6ddL7f9fKUXCA
If i was interested can I buy one from you ? I tried a different way and I believe i fried my throttle body. When i welded a shaft onto it to extend it
@@MrMovieMaker2542 no I'm really too busy to be making more of them. The way to do it is drill and tap the blank end for a 1/4" stud. There easy to dissemble, u jus have to hold the TB wide open when taking it apart and putting it back together. The hardest thing is getting the 2 springs in the right place. I took my shaft to my local machine shop and used his lathe to do the drill and tapping. I really wouldn't try it by hand.
One of the better ways to get a 700r4 to work with a LS/vortec throttle body!
Seems like a good idea ..I would love to know if it worked out okay?
You are a genius sir.
What an interesting idea!
I have a feeling this is something people would pay you good money to do.
How is it working out? Has the motor been okay to pull the cable when in the car?
How much would it cost 4 you to make one of these
Sorry can't do it, I'm building a house right now and won't be back on car work for a while.
Can you make another one I’ll buy it
How much
Can you sell me one of these adapters. I don't have the means to make this myself.
I made everything myself just for what I got.
@@larryfleming8960 would you be willing to send pictures of this?
How can this be replicated ?
