    I love the use of 2x6s. Always have the option of adding a cup holder.

      Yea gives it a great bulky look. It's my favorite going to build another one. Maybe a rocker too. May cup sits nicely on the arm rest :) Take care

    After many hours of search to find the design that suit my taste I found your channel, and I must say you won a subscriber!
    Pretty hard to stop myself from watching all the content of the channel in one go, I don't have enough wood! 🤣

      Yeah the 2x6's are a good look over 2x4's. Plus really sturdy. This chair is my favorite over the sofa. Armrests perfect for drinks!

    Nice work - just scribed! I've used GRK screws for all my projects (decks, framing, and couple of tables). For the table I used the GRK R4's. Wife has requested a matching bench and a couple of chairs. I was considering the GRK Trim Heads but I was concerned about their holding power. How is the chair holding up after 9 months? Are all the joints still tight?

    • @HomeProHero
      @HomeProHero  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for watching! I like these screws because they have a small head and after a few months you don't even see them anymore. The joints on the chair and sofa are still nice and tight no issues at all. But remember I used liquid nails in all of the joints also and I'm 100% sure it really holds everything tight! My next video is a lounger chair built the exact same way.

    Are you just using the 2x6 directly from hardware store? You're not doing any jointing or planing to get them so square? Also, did you not seal the wood at all?

    • @HomeProHero
      @HomeProHero  Рік тому +2

      Right other than cutting the boards to length I did use a palm sander to smoothen out the wood a little. I think it was 220 grit. It was already treated wood and it was already brown so I didn't feel as if sealer or paint was needed. The wood is just like the green treated stuff but it's brown and called cedartone. It's pine. Thanks for watching!

    I love the furniture and portable workbench. My question is with using 2 x 6 material for the frame. There’s not much of the cushion sticking above. When sitting in that won’t the back of your legs push into that wood?

    • @HomeProHero
      @HomeProHero  Місяць тому +1

      Thanks! You are right about that front board. I can slightly feel it but doesn't bother me at all. I think someone installed a 2x4 there that will pretty much eliminate any issue. I liked the uniformed look between the sides and the front all using the same width of board. Take care!

      @@HomeProHero thanks a lot for getting back to me in a timely manner! I just started watching your videos and have been enjoying your channel very much! Thank you for that clarification. I will continue ahead with 2 x 6 for the front board. I noticed a police car parked in your driveway in some of your videos. I’m assuming you are a police officer and if so, thank you for what you do!

      Morning sir! I forgot to ask. Even though you use cedar tone pressure treated lumber, do you seal it as well?

    • @HomeProHero
      @HomeProHero  Місяць тому +1

      Yes you could stain it or seal it np. Just want to wait about 6 months until the moisture in the wood has time to evaporate.

    Is there any reason you didn’t use pocket screws on the 2X4 you cut to be a 2X2. Like would it be weaker? Or would the screws protrude?

    • @HomeProHero
      @HomeProHero  11 місяців тому

      I love pocket screws and yes you could use them there but I would use in conjunction with liquid nails. With that said I think the method I used would be stronger but either way will work. Haven't noticed any issues at all with the chair or the couch! Thx for watching

      I'm 6'1 and it's perfect for me! I only sit in it but the sofa is the same height and my wife sits there she 5'4. I believe it's chair height.
