Watched this entire video and I have zero intention on doing this myself but man! The details in this video! Couldn’t help but watch all the way through to the finished project! Amazing job!
Actually my brother ur doing a wonderful job God bless u please actually i could hv been happy if u could send me the measurement to get easy to start with am from Ghana but currently in Bahrain and I can wait to do in Ghana all the best
really enjoyed the video. So good that the plan is available as well. I've just purchased, it looks really well set out with the cut lists etc. This might be a long shot but I'll ask anyway. Any chance of getting a metric version? As an Aussie the whole inches and feet thing just does my head in! 🤪
Hey Michael. Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it. I’m also honored you got my plans and plan to build. Sorry about not having a metric set. I can’t do the metric system at all. 😆 Hopefully you can convert without too much trouble!
Great video, I have one myself but after 2 seasons in SC summers, the wood is faded from the maple and dried up. Any recommendations on something I can put on it either coating or some sort of fabric to protect it?
I've never built anything, but need a new frame for the cushions i have already. I think I'm going to use your plan and adapt it to the size of our cushions. As someone who has no experience and limited space for tools, what suggestions would you have for buying tools? I'd need to move the table i have out to the driveway and do all my cutting there and then store the tools in a fairly small area.
You can definitely do it! I would recommend RYOBI tools, found at Home Depot. You could do everything with a circular saw and a drill bit it would be a little harder but you would spend less on tools. It would be easier if you bought a miter saw and table saw but that would add to your expense. I think RYOBI is cost effective and stores well. Here’s the link to my plans if needed: fieldtreasuredesigns.gumroad.com/l/outdoorsectional
Hello! I recently bought the plans however I plan to build the mirror image (short side on left, long side on right). I will mirror the assembly, however do you think there are any pocket holes that would have to be mirrored as well to accomplish this? Thank you!
Sorry for my late reply! Thank you for downloading my plans. I appreciate the support. Yes, I think you will want to pay attention to the pocket holes in the back support corners behind the back rest. Make sure you think that through. However, if you miss it, it won't be that big of a deal since the cushions will hide it. I hope that helps and I hope your project turns out great! Send me a photo via my instagram: @fieldtreasuredesigns. I'd love to see it!
Great question. In the Colorado Springs weather it has done very well. The sun is definitely effecting the wood and I think I need to reapply a new varnish or clear coat soon but I haven’t done a thing to it since I posted this video so I’d say pretty good. Again we are pretty dry where I live but the sun is intense since we live at 6,300 ft elevation. Hope that helps!
Great video! I just bought the PDF and probably will be working on it this week-end. Although I'm wondering what do you call "cedar pickets" can you send me an example from homedepot CANADA preferably?
Thanks, Alex! I really appreciate you taking time to watch, send a nice comment and buying my plans! That is like the triple crown of support! As far as cedar pickets, I am just referring to these fence posts. Here is a link to help and I hope your project goes awesome! bit.ly/3No41fl
@@diywithandrew actually I just subscribed to the channel so it's even better than the triple crown! I can't actually seems to find anything like that and that size in Canada (checked Home Depot, Rona and Lowe's) any idea where I can find em or replace them with?
I think you could take my plans and adapt them for sure. My plans are pretty expressive and detailed and I think you could do it. Check them out here: fieldtreasuredesigns.gumroad.com/l/outdoorsectional
It's not going to rust like the one from the store tho...and the frame itself will last 10-20 years outside. The one from the store starts rusting after 1 year.
I’d like it to be a bit bigger, by one seat each side. Would I just buy one 12 footer and fifteen 10 footers instead of the 10 and 8’s you have on your cut list ?
It’s the dewalt 7 1/4” and it’s awesome. Here’s the video: DeWalt 20V MAX 7-1/4 Inch Miter Saw Unboxing and Review ua-cam.com/video/mEJHePSDQlk/v-deo.html

Thanks for your kind worlds! Appreciate that. And I appreciate you watching. It definitely was a ton of work. Lol
Just got your plans, and im giving this a shot this weekend.
That’s awesome! Thanks so much. Hope you have a blast building it.
How'd it go??
Great job, it looks very nice
Thank you!
This is incredible. Great work.
Thanks my man!

Haha! Thanks.

Thanks! Hmm. We used to live in SC so I understand the summers! I would try something like this: amzn.to/3TtcPTU
Good job man! Cheers!
Thank you!!

@@diywithandrew Thank you for the suggestion, I'll be going down there today and starting the planning process.

Gteat video! I purchased the plans. Is it possible to have plans sent for a 7 seater instead of 6? I'm looking for both sides to be the same length.
Hey Anthony! Thanks so much. I just responded to your email.
How is it lasting in the outdoor weather ?
How's the maintenance?

This may already have been answered but what kind of wood did you use for your 2x4s
Just regular non treated. Since we live in a dry climate I sprayed clear coat on them and they have held up well.
Any suggestions on a cover? Being lost I find on Amazon are 104 inches and the long side is bigger than that
Great question! Unfortunately I’ve not found one for it. Hope you find one and if you do please let me know!
Hello, what are the dimensions for this? I need to see if the long side will fit...
Hi there, the dimensions are in my downloadable plans via the link in my show notes below the video.
I bought and downloaded it but I don't see the long side length. Is it 105.5 in?
Also curious what the dimensions are. Thanks!
The dimensions are provided in my downloadable plans via the link in the show notes below the video.
Hi there! For some reason I am
Struggling with the pocket holes on F. Could you explain that a bit?
Can you also show the settings and how to for the 10 degree cut?
Hi Andrea! Thanks for emailing me. I just replied. Thanks again for watching and purchasing plans!
That would be explained in your user manual for your particular saw.
Great video! Curious about that round table!
Thank you!! Oh yes! That’s a round pine piece that I bought from Home Depot to use as a top for our round column fire pit!
I love how detailed you are!! Awesome job. What would you say the weight limit on this is?
Thank you, Kayla! Honestly I have no idea. We have sat 4 adults on it easily without a creak.
Would it be possible to follow the guide but make a bigger sofa?
I think you could take my plans and adapt them for sure. My plans are pretty expressive and detailed and I think you could do it. Check them out here: fieldtreasuredesigns.gumroad.com/l/outdoorsectional
I'm stupid how do I find the link below? I want to build a sofa:)
No problem. Here you go! fieldtreasuredesigns.gumroad.com/l/outdoorsectional?layout=profile
How much did this end up costing?
I can’t remember. Not much. The cushions were the most expensive part.
what angle did u have the back rest at? :-)
I can’t remember the exact angle but I think I remember it was around 15degrees. My downloadable plans explain it in more detail.
So i downloaded you plans for this, but i have a few questions. How can i get in touch with you?
Awesome! You bet. My contact is located on my about page.
What size cushions did you purchase?
The link to the exact cushions for size is in my show notes below. I can’t remember off the top of my head.
I downloaded the plans, thanks btw. How far are Parts D from one another? It doesn’t say on page 18.
So with the price of wood and cushions, probably over $500
Yea I think that’s about right. The cushions are stupid expensive. Still cheaper than buying one from a store though.
Much cheaper than the $1,000-ish you’d pay to buy this from a store
It's not going to rust like the one from the store tho...and the frame itself will last 10-20 years outside. The one from the store starts rusting after 1 year.
What’s the size (length and width)?
I’d like it to be a bit bigger, by one seat each side. Would I just buy one 12 footer and fifteen 10 footers instead of the 10 and 8’s you have on your cut list ?
Who shrunk your mitresaw …
