Simply bonkers that someone at Nvidia was confident we’d get this tech demo in November 2022, and now we’re inching closer to November 2024 with zero signs that it’ll release. This was supposed to demonstrate the efficiency gains of developing with Nvidia Omniverse, and now it just demonstrates that it has the opposite effect…

10 years ago this would take a week to render. Now this is in real time. What will be next? Games in 10-15 years from now will look even better? But how is that even possible :D
They will be not just looking good but also have realitic phisic simulation, animation, better enemy and supports ai
Even more accurate simulations, even more details, higher resolution, higher framerate, etc. This wasn't even in 60fps.
I think that when games achieve this level of realism, the next improvement should be in AI for enemies, npc's etc.
I think everything will converge, i’m not sure people will play games in the format we know today.
Is motion blur real-time though? One thing I doubt about in this video. Everything else was already achievable couple years ago. But anyway, this one is made top-notch
For those wondering, this is still in the works and looks just as depicted in this video. There are more video and screens found on twitter. Will release as a stand alone game, not just a tech demo.

Bro just buy a 3080. A 4080 is so not worth it especially with how much power it consumes. Yea the performance is great but your gonna need to invest in good cooling and a big power supply

If i was a game developer i would definitely do something like re-volt 2. And i'm sure it would be dope. You don't always need for new game ideas. Sometimes you just make the old good. Like a classic!
Nah og Re-Volt is better, Almost nothing new in Re-Volt 2, except loot boxes.
Looks good, but personally, I'm not going to be truly impressed until I see this level of fidelity in an actual game, running on a rig that isn't choking on frame rate and at a entry price south of $2000 for the build.

Than you're not familiar with the demands of ray-tracing. The fact that a consumer graphics card can even run this four years after the introduction of the technology into gaming cards is mindblowing. Tech demos have rarely been representative of what actual games will be doing that generation, but this gives us an idea of what we can expect in another generation or two.

@@Claydood I thought the 4090 was listed at $1599 which is very reasonable if you ask me. Remember these complement the 3000 series while stocks last so I don't think you are going to see much cheaper 4000 series cards for a while as the top-end is pretty competitively priced given the 3090 Ti was $1999, considerably more than the 4090.

This is literally Pixar level graphics. Games that come out with these graphics can have whole ass animated movies in them.
Omniverse uses USD files that were invented by Pixar. Nothing to do with the rendering quality but interesting connection regardless 😂🤘

consoles holding PC back and its been like that for decades! This is what it looks like when devs target the top end card (4090) for the baseline.
Real RC cars are made to go in circles. This is so much more satisfying.

The sounds and landing and suspension and physics of the RC cars is accurate to me, I have a 1/8 .28 nitro buggy which I race around the yard and they plop on the ground after a jump just like this.
We really need another Revolt game or maybe 3D Ultra R/C Racers! :D

Nobody uses good physics anymore. Look at the old PhysX fluid demos and whatnot and then look at the terrible physics we have nowadays

Oh. If they have built this demo in the omniverse platform tool, then it technically and tonally looks much better than any Unreal Engine game ever made (that includes UE 4 & 5).

This "playable tech demo" was a lie.
Fucking sucks considering they got licensing for Tamiya and other brands. Like I would seriously love either a realistic RC game or a Re-Volt like game with licensed vehicles but nope, once again dreams are crushed.

There was a comparison of the first Toy Stoy with Toy Story in Kingdom Hearts III, by Digital Foundry iirc, and for the most part KH III looked better than the original movie while being real time.
