Is the ODD box OK? (Fulltone OCD clone by Warm Audio)

- Matt and Jack contemplate the differences between the "faithful recreations" by @WarmAudioOfficial with their new ODD box and the likes of DemonFX. Is there a difference?
Wait just a minute here. You claim to be Blues Lawyers but I don't see an uber expensive PRS hanging in the background. How do we really know you're a genuine Blues Lawyer?????
And we're in Maryland, no less.
Phil McKnight just shout you guys out. I’d probably expect a couple thousand more subs. 🥂
That's so cool! We love his channel
It's Mike Fuller or nothing on this.
You only use Fulltone pedals?
No, but I do think Reverb and a few others wrongly canceled him, leaving a hole for the ODD to swoop into. I do have an OCD 2.0.
It's an effort to separate the art from the artist, right? You can buy them at most stores where you would have normally found them. Reverb is resale, so it doesn't impact Mike at all.
Hi guys, Phil McKnight just gave you a big shout-out. I suggest a live show or new content to 'enjoy the benefit'.
We just go where the law takes us
The Clash fought The Law, and the Law won@@blueslawyer But I think Judas Priest got away with, 'Breaking The Law'. So it's a nice balance when you think about it.
That’s why I’m here.
@@cmurduh1 welcome! Happy to have you here.
The font is different and the OCD people will notice the difference immediately.
And there's the big @warmaudioofficial logo on the front
This pun went under the radar.
Show!
Phillip led me to ya'll, I'm removing "lawyer guitarist" from my vocabulary when I want to complain about people outbidding me for pedals on Ebay. Great channel!
Much appreciated! Welcome aboard!
Regardless of legality Warm Audio is the armpit of the music gear industry. You can try to cover up the smell but it will always stink and look ugly, to any reasonable observer. They steal designs and trade dress, and produce direct knockoffs, with the cheapest parts and cheapest labor in China, then sell them at a boutique US pedal brand price. They're dirtbags and morally bankrupt. I really don't get the support for them or their products. Compared to other cheap MIC pedals they're absurdly overpriced and you can get a real hand wired US made OCD for barely more than the WA knockoff.
I think the pricing slots more in the EHX and Boss range. Matt's enjoyed his ODD so far, but OD pedals are pretty easy to make. I built a Bluesbreaker style pedal from a kit and it crushes. What do you think about clone kits?
Again great video! Question: Many of your videos are Gibson-related. Is Fender more subtile with sueing alleged copycats or do they trust taht people who buy a "copy" will in the end often end up wanting the real thing? I would assume that for every Gibson copy there is a Fender copy..
Thank you for checking out the channel! That's a question we get every so often: Fender chose to license its shapes, so as long as you don't put a fake Fender logo on your knockoff, you'll generally be ok!
Warm Audio makes some really cool retro pedals, but I already have several Fulltone pedals including OCD which all sound amazing!
For sure!
I love my Warm Audio Centavo drive. It's amazing and gets me that Klon tone and look. I have had OCD's pedals (a V1 and a Custom Shop version, the latter I still own). I'd be interested to see if the ODD Box truly captures the OCD.
Part of the look is taking up two normal spaces on a pedalboard :)
@@blueslawyeryeah the biggest drawback.
At least Mooer was clever enough to call their Friedman style pedal the Fried Mein. Dave still asked them to change the name.
Did they make a bass version called the Low Mein?
My new favorite channel! I’ve always wondered lots of this stuff so very cool to actually see videos like this. Watching through a lot of your back catalog to catch cool videos like this 👍🙏🎸
That's excellent! Let us know if you have any questions and we would be happy to include it on our next viewers comments video!
@@blueslawyer Thank you very much. Definitely will do!
The baggage?
Yes, Mike Fuller posted/said some things in 2020 that didn't help the brand, then shut down the California shop.
@@blueslawyerYes, how dare he express his right to free expression? You should be condemning the censorious assholes who slandered him and haven't done a fraction of what Fuller has done for music.
@@CarsInDimension Mike has a right to express his opinions. I have the right to choose not to buy his products. There's nothing wrong with either of those statements.
@@mikedr1549I wanted to buy more of his products after I read those statements.
