I'm 74 nan. Ka pai to mahi rewana. You are too much bread maker. I could see you have been making rewana for years. Expert at it. Yummy end result of bread. Keep baking and making. You explain so clearly and simple. Awesome stuff.
Wow, I travelled deep into a UA-cam rabbit hole as you do lol & came across this vid & your version is by far the easiest most straight forward method I've seen thus far! Defs gonna give it a go 😊
Chur you beat me, I’ve grown up all my life around it yet have never made one (never confident enough to) after watching you I guess I can finally give it a go 👍🏾 thank you 😊😊
Sweet, was looking for a rewana recipe. Was watching this other video but there was too much talking and most of it was unrelated to the recipe. Just went on and on until I dozed off to sleep only to wake up and find shes still talking. Yours was short and straight to the point. Will give it a try.
Just saw your video I’m gonna try your way of making a rewana bug I’ve seen others do their version of the bug but take to long to get to the point so chur cheers for the short and sweet version
Chur ma NGATI, neat alright brother,👨🍳✊🍞👍🚾, multi talented Maori aye, KILLER KIL! you remind me of my brother in-law, CMU 😁 you probably know him ma bro, Chur.
Hi, so I keep the bug after making the Rewana bread in a warm place and not in the fridge? Sorry, I have not got a clue as I trying to make Maori bread for the 1st time and far away from NZ . Live in Holland and has been more than 15 yrs since I have been in NZ..thanks for video.
If youre going to make bread weekly keep it in the warm place but if youd like to use it like once a month js keep it in the fridge until the day before you use it... it should come back to life in the warmth

1/4 cup water made a batter consistency? I don’t think so, did you add more water when we didn’t see?
Yep i think i did add a lil more im not sure if i mentioned that in the video but yes you need to keep adding water to get the batter consistancy 🙏
Chur bro I haven't seen your vids since last year
Hey bro??? How do you add to it ?? Or do you make a new bug every bread?? I wanna make a new bug that I can just add to for the rest of my life
I think this how my Nan made rewana
Is it supposed to smell acidy
Yup the bug should smell like beer/wine
What if your bug stops foaming or bubbling? Does it mean it is no good.
yes it means it has died, this usually happens if it gets too cold
@@AZEESOULJAH When you say to add water to the bug, do you mean just normal water (cold or warm) or potato water (without the potato or mashed).
@@bFORCe2003 sorry for the slow reply potato water
Mine turned out so mean shot for the recipe
fucken beautiful bro
Yummy chur ma Maori 😂🔥
C up
How do you feed the bug please? I took 1.5cups out, what do I put in please?
