The great thing about the TU-154 is that it can land where most airliners can't, like dirt or gravel runways. The thing that blew my mind is that the TU-154 has better safety record then the Boeing 727.

@@Blind_Hawk Looks like the bad 727 statistics are due to hijackings. So not an aircraft fault, but the failure of airport security. It's like blaming car manufacturer for a crash where driver was drunk. Don't let drunk people drive cars and don't let people with guns and knifes to board the plane before starting to blame aircraft manufacturer. You have also forgotten that there were more 727s produced. So the percentage of hull looses is actually on par with Tu-154.
A very old fashion plane... Noisy and everything is analog. I am surprise that it similar Tu-154M, registration EW-85748 has ADS-B installed. The nice part is that everything in the controls is in Russian... So if you are pilot and you dont speark Russian, you are lost. hahah!

No, it isn't, it has an autopilot but it's not situated at the front panel. It's down on the pedestal on the captain's side.
