Hi JJ i love regge recently start playing base and your tutorial are time saver and lovely to see thanks a lot for your time and effort looking forward to see more from your blog.
great explanation with intervals and what not. love this lesson. keep these up they're great. showing them in intervals and giving quick theory tips are great
+Kev Barker I am glad it helps! Be consistent, be persistent, be disciplined, walk through the pain and frustration... Walk through the thoughts and feelings that say "I don't want to practice now" / "I don't need to practice now" / "I'll practice later..." Do this and you'll realise your potential is greater than you thought. If you don't do it, you'll never know how great you could have been... Finish that degree, and be fucking great!!!!
The one I am using are Fender Jazz noiseless pickups -- but I must say I do not like them very much... These were the first ones I got, without trying, and I just rolled with it. Maybe what you can do is go to a shop and try few bass guitars with different pickups and then see what you like the most. But also consider that the volume and tone circuit also influences the sound -- and generally speaking, the best components are normally the most expensive. I hope this helps!
Thanks man! This is a custom bass that I have put together. I have bought the individual parts and assembled it all. But it is based on a Fender Jazz Bass.
I did use your tutorial to learn the song and I noticed some differences between this lesson and your cover. In the first part (chorus) the last but one note in the first bar you play in the cover is D not C#. And in the second part (verse) you play G# not A like here.
Yes -- that is because when I decided to make the lesson video I didn't hear it properly and assumed I had it right. When I decided to make the cover I noticed the mistakes. Play like the cover. Also, listen to the original song and confirm for yourself that the notes are indeed correct!
