A song about a Christian teenage girl making a really bad decision. She threw it all away. Michael doesn't elaborate lyrically about her sin. She got pregnant? She is ashamed and in pain. Simply a brilliant lyric. Forgiveness. Jesus...after He came back from the dead... had breakfast on the grill and yelled to Peter to throw his net on the other side of the boat...again. Peter ran to Jesus. Jesus gave him a headlock and a noogie ( for that denial 3 times thingy). Forgiveness.

The songs are NOT being played by evil hearts. Our Father is using Strypers gifts and talents to get the lost folks attention. But the CD itself is their Testimony in a way, to show these folks a better way. However, unless you are a minister to the lost and hurting you wouldn't see that. Luke 4:18 - why Jesus came.
Old time Stryper fan here. When I wanted to give up secular rock, Stryper was one of the bands that gave me an awesome, Christian alternative. I understand fully what they are trying to do with the "Covering" album. But, would Jesus come singing on Ozzy song to get someone saved? That's the quandery.... I know these people need reached and saved, and I have been praying for many of them over the years. Maybe this is one way God will use.... Not entirely sure if it's right....

If we stick firmly to what scripture says and not to our own opinions, then we will be able to address subjects like homosexuality with the same love that Christ had when he spoke with people who were considered 'sinners' in that day. So, let's not judge but (in love) show them that scripture speaks against it and shows us that in the end they will not have eternal life (keeping my opinion out of it). In doing so, we let the Spirit work as only He can to change their hearts and minds.

This is not the context of that "judging" thing. The word of God is word of hope but also of condemnation. That's why we have wisdom to judge which is wrong and which is not.

I realize this is an old comment. The bible tells us that we are born into sin. It is through the grace of God and the blood of His son Jesus Christ that we are saved. I believe that homosexuality is just one of many forms of temptation that people are born into. God will remove it if the person repents and gives it over to Him. He hates sin therefor hates the act of homosexuality....just as much as he hates a lie or any other form of sin. But through Jesus we are forgiven. :) Hope that helps.

rom 16:17-20 how can we do this w/o first making some kind of judgment, again the word judgement has many different meanings. I gotta go to work but would love to continue conversation.

The Trooper is about war, Heaven and hell is about Dio's daily life existance because he was abused by the Catholic church, Carry On is about Kerry Livgrens struggle for truth, BTW - Livgren is born again now. Breaking the Law is self explanitory, etc. Need I go on? These songs were carefully picked and used to give the LOST the TRUTH right where they are! They still must Choose!
If we stick firmly to what scripture says and not to our own opinions, then we will be able to address subjects like homosexuality with the same love that Christ had when he spoke with people who were considered 'sinners' in that day. So, let's not judge but (in love) show them that scripture speaks against it and shows us that in the end they will not have eternal life (keeping my opinion out of it). In doing so, we let the Spirit work as only He can to change their hearts and minds.

Rob Halford (Judas Priest singer) a VERY CHRISTIAN person who tried to kill himself when he realised he was gay. btw, Judas Priest makes awesome music, thats a reason to glorify them. @alcapurrias7 what about someone who is gay but is still a virgin? In your opinion, what do you think will happen to that person. BTW, it is my son and he accepted Jesus into his heart. He has had anxiety and agoraphobia since he was 12 years old. My mother and I are the only ones he is with.. Anyway, I often wondered about people who don't act on homosexuality....

This is not the context of that "judging" thing. The word of God is word of hope but also of condemnation. That's why we have wisdom to judge which is wrong and which is not.

@alcapurrias7 : that's fine - but that passage says nothing about Sodom and Gomorrah. Notice it includes "thieves" and "greedy" and "swindlers", which describes the entire economic system of America and most of its allies - pretty much the same as Sodom in Ezekiel 16:49.

To comment your discussion about homosexuality: "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone". But who you are to judge? What all the discussion about beeing gay? What about beeing hypocritical, greedy, agressive, proud, adulterous? Pride, avarice, lust, anger, gluttony, envy, sloth. Do you all realize, that we all are doomed? Who can be sure to be righteous? There is no way but through Gods only grace.

@mrcooldude964 Also, if our Father wasn't behind Stryper, there wouldn't be ANYONE accepting Christ at their concerts. No man can even be drawn to Christ outside of the conviction of the Holy Spirit! Recognize ministry apart from entertainment. You and I would go to be entertained. The lost however, have an appointment with the Lord to "choose this day whom they will serve". We are in the last of the LAST days, and our Father doesn't want ANYONE to perish. I am also a minister, since 1995. Pray!

@mrcooldude964 YES Jesus would go to these concerts because of the LOST. It proves the compassionate humanity of God the Father. It pleased Our Father to put all our sins on Christ. Jesus was always ridiculed for hanging out with lost sinners. It grieves my spirit that you sound like those religious leaders. God would take the foolisth things of this world to confound the wise and use it. Jesus died for headbangers too!! This particular CD is a wooing for the lost not for the already found.

If you sow judgement, you will reap judgement. Is Christ judging you at this time? If not, you shouldn't be judging either!! Satan is a deceiver and points you AWAY from Christ. @adonairose777 we all grew up on judas priest, ozzy ,dio ect, once we get saved we are to turn from the old ways to go to christ and let the holy spirit guide us, the spirit of god is NOT leading stryper to play these bands music, its satan that leads them, i have no desire to listen to ozzy or judaspriest anymore, it grieves my spirit, as it should yours,

these are people stryper promotes by playing there covers, these really people god wants stryper glorifying? why is it ok to hang around people that deny god and live in sin? why does stryper glorify these kinda people and tell others they are good, (much deception in these last days) (sad most are decieved)
@mrcooldude964 STRYPER has NOT become backsliden! They are NOT glorifying these bands! Stryper band mates were not always born again, just like us they also had to choose Christ. They grew up on this music just like we did. How many metalheads would listen to you if you didn't talk their language? The CD "Covering" is like their testimony, paying homage but still pointing people to Christ as the only way! Jesus came for the LOST!! Read Luke 4:18.Seek the Lord and stop listening to the religious.
I realize this is an old comment. The bible tells us that we are born into sin. It is through the grace of God and the blood of His son Jesus Christ that we are saved. I believe that homosexuality is just one of many forms of temptation that people are born into. God will remove it if the person repents and gives it over to Him. He hates sin therefor hates the act of homosexuality....just as much as he hates a lie or any other form of sin. But through Jesus we are forgiven. :) Hope that helps.
