Jogar TTD por horas, quando só era possível escutar o Midi do jogo, faz vc ficar com a musica na memoria pra sempre kkkkkk I know that feel broo @FilipeDeschamps
This is literally a so well composed it could easily be a concert for a small bigband jazz concert. As a jazz musician I can just say no other than this is so good. ! Imagine Little red diesel by a small jazz group with some talentet musicians... I also played this game very much as a kid and this soundtrack still plays i my head +20 years later.

i was really into this game in my childhood maybe 10 to 11? recently i've found open ttd but it doesn't have this one as a sounttrack. now I found original one. damn i can even die listening to it. thx for letting me listen to this again.
I think there is a way to get the original soundtrack installed into OpenTTD. It worked once for me, but recently its not wanting to work for some reason.
I think I saw John Broomhall himself said in an interview/was it a tweet, that he tried to compose and program midi file that would sound great no matter which soundcard you're using. I remember fondly the adlib/FM one when I use Soundblaster because it's somehow the one that worked with my soundblaster card back in the day, but when limited to windows midi as my SB card broke and I had to use early DosBOX w/o adlib capability, there's a secret organ part in Little Red Diesel that's never heard with AdLib!
Possible solutions: Play Transport Fever 2 - but kill that music it's awful, play this instead. Play TTDXC - You may or may not like the updated music, but it plays good on modern windows, and same music option applies. Or, if you find you have too much money and this is a problem, get some lego trains 😂😂😂❤❤❤ (And play this while you're building)
The adlib versions just don't have the same sense of nostalgia. I played this game on my dad's old Windows 95 computer before I could even read. I was listening to someone talk about walking bass sounds in jazz music and I started hearing Stoke It in my head, and the adlib versions I found just didn't sound like the song that was playing in my mind. Thanks for this. Actually, after listening a bit more, it sounds like the cutoff times for some of the instruments could stand to be lengthened a little. Some parts sound a bit staccato.
Can't Get There From Here is a classic... once the song ends, you got like 3 minutes of silence before it plays the last part... What is up with that song being like that?
I suspect that silence is a missing track and we just hear the end of it? The original game did the exact same thing, and I wanna know if we're missing a song!?!
I love this video because it's the sound I was used to. Of course the fancy soundcards sound better, but this is what I played with. However, why is Cruise Control not right after Easy Driver?
Joo, taky jsem byl v 10 letech těžkej korporátní kapitalistickej parchant, majitel přepravní společnosti v hodnotě 1,2 bilionu amerických dolarů. To byl život.
That's what I recorded these from :3 You just need the original MIDI or GM files and put them in a folder called "gm" in the root of Open TTD. For legal purposes I can't post them here but they're pretty easy to find with google.
Yeah I have no idea what that's about. It's not in the original DOS version, and it's actually properly written into the MIDI file for the Windows version. I could've easily removed it but I decided to keep it for authenticity ;)

As soon as this soundtrack rolls, I instantly hear train horns and the bleeps of the newsticker. Great times!
Honestly it feels wrong to listen to the music without it but whatchya gonna do?
@@MoldyPond Ya gonna get OpenTTD!

The original composer actually recorded all the tracks with a live band for the mobile release. They posted it on their YT channel.

One of the most nostalgic soundtracks I can remember. I'm 25 now and this was the game that shaped my childhood.
Funny how the shittiest midi sounds can sometimes be the best. Love this!
It's the composition that matters!

Well he certainly did a damn good job then :)
Yes, midi! None of the adlib rubbish!
Dunno why it's accepted as the main version of these but whatever.
adlib? rubbish? wtf?
The AdLib isn't rubbish... wtf
The theme song sounds way better on AdLib.
I also prefer this version, guess nostalgia...
Microsoft GS Waveable Synth sucks
AdLib is the best
Oh my... good old '98 and my P166. :)
Thank you very much! That's exactly how I played it and I like how this version is so crisp and punchy. :) Thanks!
No problem! :)
My buddy Mike brought me here. Needless to say what I think of him right now, he knows deep inside.
God YES! Midi rules, always loved the Soundtrack... Coss Groove and City Groove are my Favorites
great music, just gives me a bad case of "NEED to build a station, train and much of track asap"

As mentioned in the updated info, I put these in the order that they are in OpenTTD, not realizing they were different in the originals :)

Ya, I just got OpenTTD too and thought the music sounded a little off. I just play this UA-cam in the background and mute the in-game music.
@@2shabbs I sincerely disagree, whenever i hear busy schedule or unidentified flying scotsman i start crying out of nostalgia.
