Remastered! I loved (and still love) this game and its original soundtrack (missing from OpenTTD 'cause of copyright, unfortunately). It's interesting to hear how this live version compares with the original midis. Shame it misses out some of the awesome bridges and electric guitar solos in some of the tracks, but then they'd probably have been hard to perform on real instruments. Thanks for the upload, although I'd buy this album if I could find it anywhere.
wish my dad was alive to hear this, he introduced me to this game when i was 9 (´95) , this is why i became a transport engineer and a jazz enthusiast one of my favorite old VG sountracks, along with classical Tie Fighter
I can't believe what I read here, that's awesome, your dad was a good person for sure. I don't have any kids, and I was 21 in 1995. Love Tie Fighter too! The collectors' CD is still the best!
I'm so glad to find out this music was transposed to real instruments. When I was a little kid playing this game I had a hunch this music was genuinely well written, but because it just a bunch of midi sounds the compositions never really came through that well. Now with real instruments, it sounds like a world class jazz/bigband. Guarantee that if you play this at a restaurant or jazz bar that people will be impressed by the music and would never guess this is a soundtrack from a 25 year old videogame.
It's a travesty that the publisher hasn't released the soundtrack directly, or given Broomhall the rights to do that himself. This soundtrack isn't getting the listens it deserves!
Oh my god this is the most amazing thing I've found in so long, I had no idea John Broomhall was even still active let alone that he remade all the TTD classics! Was pretty much the first PC game I ever played, and the first game I ever learnt from scratch back in the days before the internet was widespread. Five year old me never could understand why my trains out in the middle of nowhere trying to take wood to a steel mill were making no money... The only thing I'm missing is the slap bass and guitar solo on Goss Groove. But to be fair, it's interesting to hear a more laid back take on it. What an amazing hidden gem! Makes me want to dive back in to OpenTTD.
This is really great. The originals were probably the best midi compositions of that time and this here is just the perfect "real life" adaption of these. 11/10, would play forever.
TTD is what shaped me as a jazz lover back when I was 14 (and still holds me afloat at 40), and also gave me a universal recipe of happiness. All the games, be it NES, Genesis, SNES, or PC, that I ever really enjoyed had excellent music, with this one inevitably leading.
When I played the game in 90s I hated “new-style” songs. But now, with live woodwinds and 5str bass they SOUND, and I totally get the groove. That's how the author composed them.
I'm glad this has been updated, as someone that grew up on Roland and Soundblaster midi sounds, they bring back good memories for me, but they sure have become somewhat dated. so it is good to be able to enjoy the old songs in a new form. although sometimes I miss the old sound, especially with tracks like "Aliens ate my railway". that creepy sounding synth sound that made the entire song "alien" sounding is not properly echoed by the electric guitar. there are many other similar examples. this album now feels more like a proper jazz piece than an oldie game soundtrack. funny, I never liked jazz, but I could always listen to the TT soundtrack. this album is no exception.
You are dating yourself ;) i presume your formative years were ~1990? mine were between 2008-2013. likewise, i consider that the peak of video game history.
I ended up being transportation entrepreneur. Child me played a trumpet and this lovely game like everyday in late 90s. This is one of my go video now to when driving a truck from dusk till dawn while missing all those good times.
I am havning goose skin right now. This OST is marvelous. I did know there were another more transport tycoon called"fever" from 2019. but they didn't ship this OST :(
... also i have to set a thought that this is the very rare case in Universe when genius gameplay and graphics mix up with genius music. TOTAL MENTAL ORGASM )))) (except Sony PS version which was the biggest frustration in the game world of late ~90s)
At first, I wasn't like this version at all, because, it indeed lacks some of the midis here and there (compare Easy Driver opening), also the tracks are changed and I listen even to this day from time to time deluxe OST. I just know by heart every single tune. But suddenly I listened to this version and said what the heck, times are changed. It's not 100% the original, but after I listen maybe 2 days nonstop I just love this version too. Very good job indeed.
Got into this game a year ago from openttd and always had to have the music off because the way its arranged in midi is grating. This however is alot of fun and captures the spirit of the game. This you can easily have on loop during a session
How COOL is that? John Broomhall at his best. I can even see the green dollar values floating up to the sky... I play Locomotion nowadays, but I miss the original soundtrack.
Where can you buy this soundtrack? The ogg files packaged with the game, are 22khz 88kbps, very low quality. UA-cam 720p, is apparently 192kbps AAC. FLAC would be great, if not 320kbps mp3.
@@krystiankowalski7335 read carefully. Even UA-cam MP3 converter can't rise kbps from 192 to 320. TS asks where to find (or buy) this soundtrack in 320 kbps

@David Calman - You're right, it is theme from the Original, rather than the Deluxe version. My mistake. :) Changed it.
Well aren't you lot shut at telling one thing from the other. It is the transport tycoon sound track

could you point out where is it exactly?

Similar here. In my 30, I started to learn jazz piano. I believe that these songs had a great influence on me as a child.
I just sent this to my dad. He came home with the original game for me too back in the day! We played for hours and hours and hours.
The one and only game that made me skip school...and later I choose Mechanical Engineering because fascination with these big loco engines.

Exactly! :)
With AWE32 they sounded pretty good already in the 1990s.

OH MY GOD where has this been all my life!? Amazing renditions of the classics!
It probably didn't exist most of your life.
This is really great. The originals were probably the best midi compositions of that time and this here is just the perfect "real life" adaption of these. 11/10, would play forever.
I love it :D Always dreamed about this being recorded with live instruments
Simply amazing. These tracks bring to me my best childhood memories.
FINALLY SOMEONE UPLOADED THIS!!! THIS IS PURE GOLD!!!
Will Smith: Don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do a perfect soundtrack.
John Broomhall: 00:00.
This music helps me a lot to focus and solve some problem in my work.
Time flies faster with minimum stres with this soundtrack

5 years to the party, but never late than never. thanks for remaking this.loved this soundtrack since '95
90 is, was, and will remain, the golden years of gaming!!!
You are dating yourself ;)
i presume your formative years were ~1990? mine were between 2008-2013. likewise, i consider that the peak of video game history.
A nice groove for a legendary soundtrack! Still listening once in a while when working!
Julien Hochart me too
you must work in the transportation business, amirite??
Not at all, but I'd love to listen to that while driving a freight train :)
I ended up being transportation entrepreneur. Child me played a trumpet and this lovely game like everyday in late 90s. This is one of my go video now to when driving a truck from dusk till dawn while missing all those good times.
@@ollisaikkonen9156 good times those were indeed
MS DOS games are the real game time, light, simple, and easy yet it comes with longer gameplay and it is not boring to play over again.
Back in the days, i just run the program continuously to listen to this classic jazz...
Good lord! I never thought to hear these tunes again, espescially not in this live-quality! Awesome!!!!!!
Oh my god I need the longer version of that main theme - it's just perfect.
Transport Tycoon live in concert... I would go ;)
Multiplayer OpenTTD with friends and this playing in the background... Ohhyeah...
Wow, had no idea this existed! Just yesterday I was listening to the MIDI soundtrack for like the thousandth time. Thanks for the upload!
I'm so glad this exists. This is one of the best game soundtracks, and it deserved this remaster.
Hot damn. Why am I only finding out about this remade OST now in 2020?

2023 here, just nutted to Sawyer's Tune
I am havning goose skin right now. This OST is marvelous.

HOLY SHIT... HOLY SHIT... All I had to do was search for it...and yet for 4 years I did not. I'm going to listen this to death.
Finally!!
i waited for this to happen forever :)
Sawyer's Tune is probably the best piano piece I've heard in a while...
Oh man, why wasn't this on the CD-ROM releases back in the day? Such a great soundtrack.
Game budget.
... also i have to set a thought that this is the very rare case in Universe when genius gameplay and graphics mix up with genius music. TOTAL MENTAL ORGASM )))) (except Sony PS version which was the biggest frustration in the game world of late ~90s)
Thank you for finally uploading this! Been looking for it since it was released in 2014.
The legend is back !!!!
This is like birthday and Xmas together! Thank god I found that :-)
Looked for the originals, found this GEM 💎
I've been waiting for this moment, for all my life, (Oh lord)
This is pure. I wish there's somewhere real orchestra exercising this soundtrack to play in a venue.
These slap so hard! Brings back memories playing with my friend on his dads 486 using a soundblaster pro

daaang so many details still included, so good!

Best working music EVER!
I love this version, so glad someone uploaded this!
Amazing! I didn't know this existed. It's hard to top the original sound environment, though!

yeah it's my fav too

This game made in 1994 available in IOS,android,iPhone this is also cost 4.99, lite is avalaible
Did anyone else catch the Scandinavian-accent guy saying "not sure about the ending?" 1:05:20
Nice :) Always wondered why did these songs not get lyrics and proper instruments :)
I remember back in 2016 I always grinded on this game while jamming to this music in my head.
The sound of my Childhood!
I would have loved to hear the Stroll On solo remastered...
Bro i played it before a lot of years. Im the king.
I Like this song, because I playing in the scenario of Great Britain and Ireland 1900s Solo.
This is fantastic !
I'd actually pay for the bass line of some of these tunes ... especially Jammit
The original midi files can be opened in MidiEditor and the bassline can be isolated
Even though I don’t enjoy the game as much as i use to thanks to openttd, transport tycoon’s soundtrack is so much better then openttd’s soundtrack
56:27 Small Town is so good!
1:05:24 Stroll On as well very good!
These two are definitely my favorite.
Best game ever now on iPad :)
I love it even in OPL3 Adlib version... ))) also was good through midi on just a Casio synth... and this remix is very good
1000 hours spend in computer with this amazing game and hear this fabolous Music.
We need this as an MSX pack for OpenTTD 👏👏
This is amazing in every way.
why am I finding this only today!!!? NEAT
I just switched in jazz from the bass clarinet to the baritone sax, time to convince the band director to play Hard Driving.
Hollyshit! This is AMAZING!
Playing this with Corporate Mundo is an experience
This version is very nice! :)
If someday somebody decides to create a movie about my life, this should be the soundtrack of the good days.
funk central is giving me straight up De Blob vibes. (honestly multiple bits of the soundtrack do and obviously that's a good thing)
woooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwww!!! This is the best thing that happened to me todaaaaaaayyyyyy
I didn't play this game, but I love the music so much! :D
I hardly recommend you do play it, its awesome
its a delight to hear it with 2x speed
Awesome work!
Oh god I love this!

Sounds more like the soundtrack for a tropical island simulator than for captains of industry :-\ Very different vibe.
Stunning!
Movin'On is my best song here
hard driving is pretty dope too
I like Stroll on Personally
Awesome!
This game had made me a JAZZ ENTHUSIAST!!
And anytime the new song began, the game stopped for a moment! 😂

thanks again
It would be awesome if you could post this on UA-cam music!
