    The guy/girl asking if it's okay to kiss or hold hands - I actually find that really endearing 😊 Sometimes, people don't really get those nonverbal cues, which could lead to misunderstandings. Honestly, if the relationship is going well, it wouldn't hurt to make things clear and just ask.

    As a woman, as an older woman and as an older woman not raised in the LDS church I have no understanding of YSA dating info but as a Christian I will say the Christian church is a hard place to find a date even when you're a bit older and especially when you're physically disabled, as I am. I was pretty much labeled "undatable" because of my disabled and divorced. Yup, divorced and disabled? I was practically a leper! Eventually, I found my husband online and on a non-Christian dating website although I was pretty clear in my profile that I was a Christian and waiting for marriage for sex. Thankfully my husband was okay with that... :D We had our happily ever after three years ago... All this to say, kids, even if you don't find the love of your life when you're young, you will find that person in God's timing and when you follow His direction for your life. Don't let anyone pressure you into dating or marriage too early. Follow His will for your life, always.

    DTR as an event is a good thing. It's not about trying to rush things but just understand where the other person is at. Are they wanting to date other people still? Kiss other people? After like 5-6 dates you should probably explain your intentions to each other just so you know what the other person wants out of it. It's a mature thing to do

    I need help. I completely fell head over heels for this girl, we started dating but not really dating because she is not old enough to date. We kissed, hugged and held hands everywhere we went, but her parents said that we were getting too serious and said that we should take a break. I'm so scared that we will fall out of love and move on from each other. I completely understand and very much agree that Heavenly Father has a plan for us and has a plan for who we should be with throughout life and I really really hope that we are meant for each other.

I'm to the point where I don't wanna date at all, and honestly some times I dread going because I know I'm gonna get bombarded with questions about dating. I have alot of things going right for me currently and really don't have time to date and when I do it never ends well, so I'd rather just not date.

    I know this video is old, but I have yet to find a discussion exploring all the facets of problems with dating and possible solutions. Usually the discussion centers around "what should we do while we're dating", but people talk less about the issues of finding people in the first place. There's a pandemic going on, I'm already graduated from college and I'm in the east coast. And frankly I don't want to settle for someone I'm not attracted to. I extremely rarely had success with anyone I was attracted to. I was engaged right after my mission but that didn't work out. So I don't know. I get a little tired of people saying "oh you'll find someone"...when I'm getting very close to 30. And why isn't there more of this on youtube? I can only find like 3 relatively serious discussions on youtube. The rest are jokes and parody type stuff.

      I think you should pray hard, and talk to your bishop and parents about it. If you are praying with real intent, you'll know what Heavenly Father wants you to do. If Heavenly Father wants you to serve a mission, He will let you know. If He wants you to date someone instead, He will also let you know. Have faith that you will get your answer! "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Matthew 7:7) Even if you have your call, you might be prompted to pursue a different direction in your life. And that's ok! My mom knows a girl who had her call, but then someone asked her to marry him- and she accepted because she felt like she was supposed to. Pray, and let the spirit guide you.

    Consent is important. It just is. Being straight forward is a sign of maturity. Don't play stupid games. Games make it more complicated. Communication makes it simple. Just talk. Figure out what you want to say and say it. And then actually listen to the other person without judgment or jumping to conclusions, and honestly that's the hardest part. And the definition of the relationship can change. Leave space for that change.

    There's something about dating multiple people at once, but separately, that rubs me the wrong way; it shows that the other person isn't capable of being 100% loyal and would dump you after kissing another person that they're "dating" and saying that they're "in love" with the other person after ONE kiss

      @jeffmizner8701 6 років тому +1

      Sadly, Jim Caponzi, you are gravely mistaken; however, let's assume you are right for a minute - the Catholic Church is Christ's true Church on Earth and the Pope is the Lord's official mouthpiece for the entire human race. Meaning, the Pope receives revelation from God. Sounds legit, right? Based on your answers, I'm assuming you'll agree with those statements. Well, the Scriptures (and we'll use the New American Bible, which is solely used by the Catholic Church and recognized as official canon for that Church) will prove without a doubt that the Catholic Church (and the concept of Papal revelation) a farce. Catholic history/catechism states that Peter was the first pope (first Bishop of Rome). When he was crucified, the papacy (church authority) was handed over to Linus in 67 AD (Linus is recognized by the Catholic Church as the first Roman Pope). Well, if Linus was the head of the Church (and therefore the Lord's mouthpiece), why was John receiving revelations directly from Jesus Christ on what to do with the Church while he was exiled on the Isle of Patmos (hundreds of miles away from Rome and the Catholic Church)? I mean, it's no secret, these revelations are recorded in the Book of Revelation. If Linus was the head of Christ's true Church and the Lord's mouthpiece, shouldn't he have received those revelations? Well he didn't and we can read those revelations (even in the NAB) that were given to John thereby proving that Christ didn't recognize Linus as the rightful successor to Peter. If Linus wasn't chosen by Christ to receive those revelations, then the Church Linus led wasn't Christ's true Church. Amos 3:7 states that only the prophets receive revelation, something that Linus (and every successor all the way to the current pope) is not. The Bible (and Christ) don't lie. John received those revelations, Linus did not. Christ told John what to do with the churches, not Linus. Catholic Church is false. Cheers.

    do mormons only have to date other mormons

    • @Joseph-tc8nk
      @Joseph-tc8nk 5 років тому

      No, but we're encouraged to date those with similar standards to ours. Many church members have a goal of marrying in the temple, which is only possible with another church member, but marrying outside the church isn't banned :)

    as an aromantic asexual , I hate the LDS dating culture , when I lived in Utah , they were extremely pushy and aggressive about trying to drill It into my head about how important they thought that dating was, I don't like women (Or men for that matter either) and the idea of marriage and having children is disgusting to me, to each their own , but don't force that crap on me

    You Caucasian guys dont even realize how good you have it in our mormon religion.
    Lds girls are very picky and discriminating if your not white. As a Asian American mormon it has been very very unpleasant dating nothing but white women in the lds religion. All my dates in lds religion have been rude and just show uninterest in me. I left the lds religion cuz the lds girls didn't value me or reply to me...every guy in our lds religion has been kind,nice welcoming to me as a man. Thank you all lds men for being kind and welcoming to me while I was lds. I'm no longer lds cuz of the lds women...

      I'm really sorry to hear that, dude. I too have had frustrations with LDS girls, too. And I'm a white guy, so you're not alone. We need more Asians in the church! I'm currently studying Chinese and Japanese! Hope my message finds you well!

      Hey I'm an aro ace and I'm actually quite happy to be single and childless and I'm 41 years old, be happy that you have your freedom , dating, marriage and child rearing are overrated and it doesn't necessarily equal happiness , just because the church puts pressure on you to do those things that doesn't mean that you have to conform , I personally don't see the value in those kinds of lifestyles and I think that they bring more pain then joy but that's just me though

      @@eatmyassmoore764 thanks for your comment. Funnily enough I'm ace as well but I'm heteroromantic. Being ace in the church is really tough, how do you find it?

      @@Shaunography it is tough but I am not a member of the church and I live in Provo Utah and all I hear LDS people talking about is dating , and what's worse is that they try to pry into my business about whether or not I am dating anyone and giving unsolicited offers to set me up with someone and it sucks
