I am bowing down and thanking the Gods of the UA-cam algorithm for showing me this video. So very helpful! Thanks for your work!
The best 15 mins about productivity of my life! Simple yet complete and right to the point
13:47 Thank you for using concrete steps and encouraging your viewers (me) to set things up exactly as you have yours. When someone does this, I learn the material much faster, and by the end of watching this video I have something extremely useful and relevant to my life that I can begin using today!
Thank you for showing me that reminders can do so much more than I realized. As a chronic procrastinator I’m going to use what you said about lists and dates to boot me in the backside to get going on tasks and projects. Never rush up to a deadline again!
Thanks a lot of putting all this information together. I wasn’t aware of all those features. Very handy - and great for productivity! 👏
Wow! This has been extremely helpful between this and your notes video! I had most things stored in google docs which just became cluttered. Was going to look for different paid apps and I'm glad I just learned about what I already have especially because I am new to mac! I've been spending over an hour reorganizing all my tasks. Thank you!
Fantastic video, thank you so much! I followed each of your steps and I am much happier with my productivity setup. Keep up the great work!
I just came across this as I was looking for a way to get organized and I am so grateful! Also in addition to the four pinned I added two more pinned lists for my morning routine and bedtime routine. I’m trying to eliminate the use of too many apps to do things that I can get done with just one. Thank you so much you really helped me figure this out and I’ll watch the other one next for sure. Thanks.
Thank you very much. This is a very clear video, with clear outcomes. It’s a benefit to me with ADHD. I do value the strategy, but this video has a lot of value in being able to complete something.
Thankfully you are showing step by step process and shortcomings of every step. This was useful
Great tips! Thanks for sharing these. I've been thinking lately I needed to lean harder on Apple reminders to keep me straight and these ideas are great ways to do that and hopefully be a heck of a lot more organized. 👍🏻
Dude, that's it. I was struggling a bit with managing micro tasks and to keep them somehow organized. This helped a lot.
Every day, I am thankful for smart and creative people sharing their skills on platforms like this for me to learn from. Thanks a million for this!
Thank you so much Donnie!
This guy is the king of Reminders. Wow!
This is great. Just started using reminders and this is a much better system then the one I had setup. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I did not only learned how to use the Apple Reminders better now with my tasks but also how to be more organized!
Wow! Having ADHD, this has helped me get more organized with all my projects. Thank you!
Thank you so much, that was so incredibly helpful!
Love your way of thinking and structuring!
thanks lot for this video! I‘m using Reminders since last year - Trello used before - you opened my mind how to expand and organize better my work. ❤😊
Well done! One of my goals is to be more organized. this video helped alot because I am able to see my lists etc. on all my Apple devices. thank you!
I'm going through a period where I need to save money on food. This helped me make inventory of my pantry, fridge, and freezer, and add expiration dates to foods. This is gonna alleviate monthly planning so much, thank you!
Thanks. Very useful and practical. Like the long form, full detail aspect of your work.
Wow. Thank you so much for doing this video. I was just thinking a few days ago that I wanted to give Reminders another try to help me keep track of my To-Dos after trying numerous other methods, both digital and analog. After Attempting to set up a layout, I did a quick search and found your video. It contains a tremendous amount of helpful information and I plan to watch your other videos. Thanks again!
Excellent!! I am about to rewatch and take notes!! I have been really wanting to switch into reminders and get use out of it. I thought I would just find one or two tips I could use. But wow! I think there is only one or two I might not use!! Can’t wait to watch the others!
Thank you. People like you make others' lives so much more beautiful!
Ty so much. Im gonna try this form of categorization! ❤
Very useful, thank you Mr @Peter Akkies
so helpful, thank you!
You’re welcome, Ibrahim! Glad you found it helpful. Looks like you’re crushing UA-cam yourself!
I like how you organize and plan. I learned something new.
Extremely Helpful, Thank You.
Great presentation of many tips quickly done! I had to turn on iCloud syncing and update the Reminders app to get Groups and other features to work.
You absolutely rock! What a legend , thank you for sharing this
Very helpful & informative video I had no idea I had such powerful productivity tools at my fingertips that can help me with everyday life as well as work flow please keep up the good work 👍🏽
Insightful. Thanks, Peter
Thank you very much! The video helped me made the change to Reminders which I wanted to do for a while now.
immensely helpful for a person like me who wants to use apple reminders but doesn't know how to. Thank you very much mate!
This was very helpful, even though I have been using it for a while I hadn't been able to make it work like I wanted it to. The tip about using flags for 'doing today' was very useful.
Life saver ! Thank you !!
Great job on this video. Super helpful and clear
Wow. I was debating using reminders as my task / to-do manager and was hesitant. Now I'll set it up. I think it will replace toodledo. Thanks!
Recently started using Reminders so thank for the great tutorial!! And glad to hear some else agrees having to create a template from a list instead of a task w sub tasks doesn’t make and is cumbersome, but then how sub tasks can sometimes work maybe it’s not so bad after all 😂
You’re the best! Your videos are extremely helpful thank you .
Great video, I learned so much! Thank you!
Thank you for this helpful video!
You are simply amazing teacher. Thank you so much for your tutorials.
Thanks so much for your kind words.
This is what youtube is for❤️ perfect explanation. Loved it
I like this. I love the idea of the today view to add flagged. Easier to add deadline dates and worry about today tasks with flagged.
I work on some big projects that are usually year long so doing tasks with sub tasks is difficult for me. I create lists for my big projects, put them all in a folder called work projects. Once I complete the project I move it all into another folder called completed or archive. It makes it easier that way because within projects I have lots of tasks.
Also, another tip. I created another smart list that I pinned called anytime (similar to things 3). I. There I set to add all tasks without a date. This way I can go through tasks that I don’t have deadlines for and I can assign them when I am ready.
Thank you so much for this video!
This is great. To the point and very informative. Thanks for your excellent video
Thanks for the video mate. Just moving from Todoist to Reminders and this was helpful.
clicked subscribed! really thorough and well thought out demos and explanations.. I am keen to learn how to really utilise the tools available to me on my iPad.. .i've clicked around a few channels this evening for similar info but this is the one for me! thanks Peter!
This was such an useful tutorial. Thank you so much
you vids are excellent!!
Thank you so much! Glad your video showed up on my feed. Subscribed 👍 💕
This information is life changing. Thanks for sharing!
Sir! Thank you so much ❤
I really liked the tipp with the "Today" Smart List. Thank you
Excellent video. Thanks for this. I will be implementing many of these tips.
Thanks so much, your video is so helpful. Nici
Thank you. Your video really helped me to switch to reminders
That is high value content - thank you so much for improving my life!
this is gonna be so helpful thanks so much!
something I was waiting for.. great ideas.
Great video! I watched a number of objectively poor videos before stumbling across yours. You have done a good job of explaining the concepts, giving tips and tools and show examples. Thanks!
Awesome video! Very helpful, I like your idea for using the flagged feature. Thank you!
What a Legend!! 👏🏼 🎉 thank you Peter!
Great Video ~ several things I didn’t know so now I am ready to improve my use of Reminders. I would love to see a video about how Notes, Reminders, Tasks & Calendars can work together more efficiently.
This is awesome.. Love that you're using the Things 3 principals. One of my goals is to use the Apple eco-system only apps for all my productivity tasks. This video take me there!
Same!
Wow! This was very helpful.
thanks! great video 😄
I use reminders all the time especially on my apple watch...this such a outstanding video extremely informative hitting all the right spots...I am going to like and subscribe
thanks for sharing this, super helpful!!
You’re very welcome!
Great video. This is the closest thing I’ve seen to replicating what I love so much about Things 3. Not smooth enough to make me switch yet, but it’s great to know I can fall back on Reminders should something happen to Things in the future.
I have been able to replicate my Things 3 setup well with Apple Reminders. Basically I create folders for Projects (As opposed to lists) and under these projects folders I have lists with items and subitems. I started using Things 3 because of Peter, and have been able to just move to Reminders. Thank you Peter for your videos!
Just reorganised my entire reminders setup. Other than the Today smart list, I've changed flagged with an Urgent smart list (with flagged reminders). You've got a new subscriber for sure!
I love this video. I know there’s some really good to-do apps out there but I hate using a bunch of different apps and would rather use what comes with my devices
Today smart list save my day Thanks 🎉
Dude that inbox idea is genius!!
Thanks! Video was very informative. Didn't knew it is that feature rich.
Thank you so so much. Very great video!
Great video. One idea I got when watching this video - for templates, incase the ordering gets wrong, you can number the tasks, so when the ordering is wrong you can easily put all in the right order.
Great video for everyday life
Just created intelligent today list and it's really great idea. One thing I would suggest is also put priority reminders there.
You changed my life after 10 years of looking for a decent task manager. Now I have it it it's always in my laptop! I thought reminders are useless.
Really really helpful
thank you sir, i am wanting to make more use of my phones stock app. i actually understand it now :)
Thank you
Thanks, this is a great video
Great video! I have ADHD and this has really helped me to start putting an organisation system together. Thank you!
Needed this ! Love the smart lists, I can now delete other apps. I am transitioning from android so learning this is needed !
Thank you so much for this, lets hope I can really utilise these ios features given I have a macbook, iphone and ipad that I use during my busy weeks.
I do this by adding a bunch of lists to a group and then clicking on the group so that I can view all my lists within that group at once. It's another option for viewing tasks by section. But I've used this method too. I think this really demonstrates how flexible and powerful Apple Reminders is now!
I can't create GROUPS-... The option in the edit menu is grayed out and dragging two lists on top of each other doesn't create groups... I see that people online have the same issue.. I run the latest version of MacOS Ventura 13.2 .. Anyone encountered this too?
@Superjeanmarc I have the same problem... Did you manage to do it?
@markhamstagers3046 yeah, but i dont know how.. for some reason its not grated anymore. Make sure you have a list selected and go to file > new Group
I'm using Todoist and it's free packages have all of these features and most important for me - it links to the calendar app as well. Will be back to Apple Reminder when they have that kind of thing but don't know when 🙂
thx for all f this info
This is a great video !
great!
Great informative video
This was eye opening and so helpful. Thank you so much! I set up my reminders app like you have demonstrated. 2 questions. Can you do a follow up video on how the reminders that you set up flowed? And in this video you mentioned to watch another video to learn about widgets. That video was helpful but didn’t have the widgets in it. Is there more videos besides the tips video and this one?
I like adding a widget that includes a specific list to a home screen which is tied to a Focus way it surfaces the relevant reminders for what I’m doing at that moment. I do the same with email, calendar, and notes widgets.
amazing !!!
