Bro....i never tap in on comments but had 2 do it, keep ur head down & keep push'n b4 you kno it you will knock a direct contract with sumbody i promise, i worked for 3 yrs hauling car for carmax & talked to plenty of 3rd parties, the further you go the bigger the bag.... words of encouragement bro.... keep trucking ✊🏼
I have a full-time job. I wanna do this on the side. Im not looking to make a killing. I'm gonna get my cdl. But getting the time to get my cdl. Hey thanks for the video. I just wanna drive and learn a new experience. Get the feel of things.
Thats a good Piont. When you first start you only know what you have experienced. so from the people doing in covid, of course they are tell us not to get in. But when you first get in that's the only rates you know so as long as you hustle it you'll be fine. and When the time goes by form our own opinions about the rates. Good Stuff Skonie
I looked into hotshot, you won't make any real money unless your equipment is paid off, fuel prices are crazy, breakdowns, being away from home, sleeping in the back of your truck. Better off being a truck driver for a company. If you run 341 days out of the year with no hotel stays you'll b lucky to make $80,000 a year after expenses. I did my research, maybe when Im close to retiring I might try it. good luck!!!!
So I haul cars gross an average of $5k a week I don’t go otr I’m home every night. Consider car hauling for post retirement I’ve met quite a few guys doing just that. And you’re right they have paid off the equipment drive 3 to 4 days a week and only in a 300 mile radius or less so they’re home daily. Leave early enough that you arrive when the delivery location opens then pickup and get home and deliver again.
Great video Skonie.. I'm thinking about getting in to the business now. Your comments are very suggestive of the truth and I appreciate that. Hoping to be there by the end of the year... God bless and be safe!
I just got in 2 weeks ago …if your already making 70k or more as an employee don’t get into it I think hot shot benefits those who were making 50k or less annually
Appreciate you big bro can I ask you to do a video of what you did prior to hot shot? …I’m 34 and I been a cdl driver for local companies since I was 21 making 80k + as a employee I been doing hot shot for 2 weeks and I’m hoping I atleast break even with what I made as employee with absolutely no headache or stress I might go back to regular employment what do you think?
What up bro. I ended up getting a ram 5500. I been looking for a trailer lately. Ive also been watching alot of videos. I admire your hustle. What kind of axles and trailer do u have? By the way, u gained a subscribe with me
I appreciate it bro what city are you in and what kind of trailer are you wanting maybe I can help. And keep watching videos it will help a lot and I’m here to help as well! Hope to see you out here!!
Yo, thanks for your insight , I have been a driver two years in the auto transport im now waiting for authority to go active . I was looking for your email to shoot you a message!! Be safe out there HUSTLER
There is no way for non CDL hot shot to make a living out here just working off of load boards. Rates are terrible! Brokers aren’t making it any better. The last 3 weeks I’ve been out I’ve had several brokers tell me how slow they are. It’s not good out here. If you go in debt to get into this you better have extra money to rely on.
So if that is the case I should stick to what I am doing now and either forget about getting into this or get a different truck { which I just got} from what I have and go get my CDL again?

That’s not a bad idea but it’s long hours daily but I agree with learning as much as you can while you’re alive! If I can help any way I will.

How do you manage family and trucking? Do you stay local, and is there decent money staying local?
I’m home every night and I go out 4-5 days a week and take off when I feel the need. Local would be too much ripping and running short haul is best
