- Professor Krishna Saraswat, an authority in the field of semi conductor, is a senior professor in the electrical engineering department of Stanford. After his B.Tech. from BITS Pilani, India, he obtained a masters followed by a PhD degree from Stanford University, did a short stint in a corporation, got a position of research associate and later on was appointed a Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department there. For the last 40 years he is teaching and doing research with a dozen patents and over 800 research publications under his belt. In addition, about 100 students have completed PhD under him. In the first part of this interview he explains how teaching faculty is appointed in the university.

आज मैं उक्त साक्षात्कार सुन कर धन्य धान्य से परिपूर्ण हो गया । देखा जाए सर सच्चा ज्ञानी का कद्र है स्टेनफोर्ड विश्वविद्यालय में हैं । हमलोग के यहाँ तो धन बल का इस्तेमाल होता है । पैरवी के बल पर ही विश्वविद्यालयों में नियुक्ति होती है ज्ञानी को ताक पर रख दिया जाता है । बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद सर । आशा है कि इस तरह का साक्षात्कार देखने और सुनने का अवसर मिलते रहेगा ।❤😊
अमेरिका के विश्वविद्यालयों में एक दूसरे से आगे निकलने की स्वस्थ प्रतिस्पर्धा होती है। इसलिए चाहे वे पब्लिक यूनिवर्सिटी हो या प्राइवेट केवल मेधावी लोग ही शिक्षक बन सकते हैं । स्टैनफ़ोर्ड की गिनती दुनिया के सर्वश्रेष्ठ कुछ विश्वविद्यालयों में होती है क्योंकि यहाँ शिक्षक और विद्यार्थी दोनों अत्यंत मेधावी और मेहनती होते हैं । 🎉

I wish our policymakers could take a cue, and change things in regard to faculty recruitment in India universities!
Yes, learning from best practices in all spheres is the thing required for improvement in any situation! And, if policy changes are the answer policy makers should effectuate it.
Learning for our academicians. They should be ahed of their time. Interview is lesson for bureaucrats controlling knowledge centers for making environment of learning within affordable cost .

Sir, Psuedosynace ka mahima mandan aaj ke daur main kese dekhte hain especially with respect to mainstream science and academia jese forcefully integration of yoga based practice which lack empirical study for multiple illness with varying pathophysiology in field of psychiatry usmein bhi NIMHANS banglore ke admission main 10 main se 3-4 point toh yoga excercise ayush integration ka hain bajay ki uspe research karna pr usko bina research pehle se prejudice hoke thopne wala lagta hain, uspe thoda darshan aur project 2025 ka academic higher education se relationship kyunki kai policy pe uska view boht poorly opinionated hain.
