Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

“No one washes it before they donate!” I’ll have you know that my sweet mother washes, dries, folds and packs with dryer sheets any clothes she donates. She even arranges the donation box by “pants, skirts, shirts, etc” so it’s easier for employees to stock them.
Your mother is a hero
Absolutely! Only properly laundered items straight from our closets are permitted to go into the donations boxes.
Same here! We always wash stuff before if its gonna be donated
Me too!
My grandmother donates clothes and old toys from my cousins, my siblings and I to the church, and she ALWAYS wash them, specially the plushies for the kids
To the underdressed wedding guests: a family friend of ours showed up dressed better than those people after back surgery. He picked a shirt that went well with the color of his brace. It’s not hard to put minimal effort into people you give a shit about.
I agree with you! Also, I think that some of the wedding guests dressed that way to show they didn't give a shit. NO EXCUSE for the officiant! I hope he married them for free.
Nowadays a lot of people have minimal guests and stuff. But those are just ratty even for casual. And no shorts jeez. I didn't get married in a church - just my mom and dad the spouse and my brother and sister (who were babies). My sister rented out a hall. I mean it was total hilljack - sitting on hay cubes. But people were dressed better than that. (Plus the beer was fruity - bleck)
I saw the socks with sandals and I immediately laughed, because this combo is a standing joke in my country about Czech people :D
Looking at the background pictures, it looks like a garden shop or something. Heck, the wedding cake looked horrible too.
these pics look like they have been taken on some greasy fastfood parking lot tho lmao, and considering what people are ready to bs about for tiktok "fame", doubt that's even her wedding, imagine doing that and some little cousin shows the tik tok to the aunties etc, doesn't seem legit to me... if it's actually her wedding, it's not happening at a classy place at ALL and was poorly prepared... like not even checking the outfit of the guy marrying them? mmmh
At my sister’s wedding, a lot of the relatives on the groom’s side were dressed in camo and dirty clothes, acting like it was a big deal they made it and joked about the semi casual dress code. Groom’s family called sister uptight for being upset. No they were not thrown out, and yes eventually my sister divorced the groom.
We wear tights under skirts in elementary school because it's the only way our parents would let us wear skirts to school. This is a time honored tradition of knowing that little kids love to flip a skirt as a "prank", and knowing a skirt won't stop our kids from going on the playground equipment.
It's practical fashion.
I am in my 40s and in middle school the cool thing to do was to roll the bottom of your jeans and wear two pairs of socks. For example, a red and blue sock on your left foot and a blue and red sock on your right foot. I have no idea how or why this was a fashion choice but most girls in my town did it. I think that no matter how old you are when you look back on middle school you’re first thought is WHY? There is no good answer just a reminder of how awkward we all are around that age. Pre-teen fashion choices can not be explained only laughed about.
I...don't understand why tights under a skirt (or even shorts) is a bad thing? Like, not only is it practical but it's NOT a bad look imo. The skirt the girl was wearing though doesn't look very flattering with the tights, but I think that might be due to it being a ripped denim pencil skirt? 🤷♀ Also, in my early 30s, and I NEVER saw girls in middle school wear skirts PERIOD. Our (sexist) dress codes basically didn't allow girls to even wear shorts! (unless they were like...cargo shorts...which I DID wear). All the girls wore jeans, even in the 90+ degree heat of Texas.
@@alexielshadowangel it's the color of the leggings/tights, I think, that makes it look bad. Or maybe the style? Real tights/stockings instead of a thicker legging would've looked better.
But then I'll wear thick leggings under my dresses today and don't care if it's not the most fashionable. 1) I stay warm 2) I don't have to shave constantly this way
Also it can look cute. The skirt the girl was in as an example wasn't really great and the color of the tights she used with it wasn't a good match so of course that example looked not great.
Thank you, this.
Just didn't wanna wear our skirts and be vulnerable, but didn't want to miss out.
As a parisian I'm offended 😂 To every foreigner : the moment you wear stripes and a red scarf in Paris, you're officially "the tourist"
So true😅
You can see French with stripes, you can see French with a scarf, you can see French with a beret. That's true. But you will never see one wearing all of them in the same time. This unspoken rule is followed everywhere in the hexagone 😂
c'est exactement ce que j'allais dire XD tout mis un par un, ok, tout ensemble, c'est un touriste XD
When I travel overseas I literally look up how to not dress like a tourst for that area to avoid being that person. 😂
Oui c’est vrai je me suis aussi senti attaqué mdr
Les clichés ça fatigue
Shein has actually come in clutch for me! I lost 107 lbs and needed a whole new wardrobe and was able to get a lot of cute pieces without spending every dime I own
Congratulations! That must have been really hard to do! I envy your tenacity. I'm on a diet right now, but it's been brutal with hypothyroidism.
@@GOGOSLIFE I have hypothyroid, too! I also have 4 neurological conditions and a brain injury. I definitely understand the struggle! I'd been trying to shed pounds since 2011. I'm not 100% sure what did it finally, it might have just been a combo of my eating habits and the medical issues I have. Either way, I hope you'll find something that helps you reach whatever goals you have 🩷
if that first lady had added a few things to the outfit it definitely would've looked more cottagecore 😭
She does look like a maid here.
Definitely can update that for some cottagecore look.
She actually fills it out well. The Harriet Tubman vibe is strong though
Yes! Like a corset with a collar necklace, dangly earrings, etc
Definitely salvageable
The wedding rating brought back memories of a friend texting me from her niece's wedding, which had noted on their invite that guest wear 'semi formal'. She adhered to the dress code only to be met w/ most of the guests dressed like they were going hiking or to Walmart. The guests were in their 30s. Wedding was held at a nice venue, too!
Inexcusable.
My sister in law forced her guests to choosse from a colour palette of like four colours, and I swear I murdered myself trying to find an olive green formal dress in my budget- a few guests were way off and wore black and floral, like, fine... and then some woman turned up in a bright red dress with massive puff sleeves and words were had.
0:33 she looks like she's about to read Twas the Night Before Christmas for a bunch of orphanage children from the 1800s
🙌🏾😂🤣😂
No why is this so true 😂😂
That woman falling down in her bathroom is EVERYTHING! I watched it at least 10 times with hysterical tears streaming down my face! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🥂
Same😂😂😂
I watched it a few times and wished I could always find it. I was glad that she was laughing, too.
I do personally have to defend the skirts/leggings combo. First, it's a look - I love black leggings under my skirts, but I am a goth, so every skirt I own has some element of black to it - so there's that. Second, speaking of which, I like my lolita style skirts, and they tend to be layered and floaty. Like... real floaty if ya catch my drift. (They certainly catch drifts lmao). Thirdly, sometimes I just wanna wear my cute skirts in winter and it's too damn cold to be bare-legged outside. Fourthly, I have thicc thighs, and they come with BIG chafing if I'm not wearing something more resilient than tights, more often or not.
Yes to everything you said!!
Same here, bad chafing so I always wear leggings under skirts and dressed, I have short ones for shorter skirts 😊
Agree! I love black tights under skirts & dresses (usually black too) and in the winter it's nice with a warmer legging (you can even get fleece lined). I think it depends on the whole outfit, including the shoe (love with a combat boot). Plus, there's so many creeps everywhere, it's nice to have the coverage! I wear short bike shorts under my mini skirts and if I had a daughter, I'd have her wear bike shorts under all her skirts & dresses so she's protected from creeps & can play without worry of embarrassment.
I always wear it with tights, and honetly that what tights are for, to wear under skirts/shorts about if they are balck, I have black, pink, white, and fake 7/8 ones
Same here, I'm from a Muslim background so I wear black leggings under all my mini skirts!
I had an Arab classmate on the dance team in highschool. She wore a full body stocking underneath her uniform. It was just like that urban outfitters thing. Our uniforms were sleeveless, legless, leotard bodysuits. We all had body stockings for cold weather, outdoor performances, but she wore hers regardless of the weather.
In defense of the boots, why do we always forget that shoes have a breaking-in period? My favorite boots were brutal when I first got them. Once the leather softened up, they became the most comfortable things on earth. They're meant for winter, so not getting to wear my comfy boots is the only downside to warmer weather.
Yes! I had gotten a pair of brand new brand name Crocs from a co worker and at first was confused about why they were not comfy like people said but after a while of breaking them in they were the most comfortable shoes I owned and I wore them until they finally busted! But this is one of the reasons why I prefer to get second hand shoes because then they are already broke in for you! Lol
Same though! Like it takes a week or more to break in doc martins
@@violetsanddragons had mine for a year and I still have to wear thick socks or 2 pair of normal ones lmao
@@diediedice really? Weird. Maybe it's cause I wear socks that go above my ankle anyway (cause they don't roll down).
@@TheChellybean85 I had a nearly identical experience when I got my first pair of Birkenstocks. Imagine my shock when not only did they hurt my feet for a week, but they FARTED when I walked! It takes time for a foot to indent the sole, so they do a weird suction thing for awhile when they're new. Only after the sole is a bit pressed in do they get really comfortable and the farting stops. The awkward break-in is worth it when considering they last a really long time.
The thing from Urban outfitters is just a body sock. You wear it under stuff if you don't want your skin showing. So instead of having your stomach show when you wear a crop top, you'll be glittery.
I like to wear fishnet body socks. Looks really cool through ripped holes in the jeans
It would have worked well with the jeans of the girl in the following clip
@ the flame pants
"This girl is on fireeeee!!" 😂😂
Okay... I'll stop
I work in an open kitchen so we get to see the guests. Just 2 days ago, there was a couple in matching black and white striped shirts. We could not stop geeking out about how cute it was!!! Think it was extra cute because they were older and it renewed my "couple goals" mentality 🥰💞
I don't know what it is about older people in matching outfits but it is so adorable.
I love a charity shop (as we call them in Scotland) rummage and I've found so many high quality clothes that it takes forever to wear out even pre loved. The amount of good, decent and still tagged things some people donate is unreal! Thank the gods for fashion addicts😂
The fallopian tubes comment had me rolling! 🤣🤣🤣 It eas extra funny cuz I just had an ultrasound done today on those very same parts! LOL
I'm literally up at 5:25 ROLLING
I still wear mini skirts and shorts over tights/leggings. It's a look and I love it. I look fantastic and it's more modest/socially accepted in places that wouldn't ordinarily accept shorts or mini skirts. I wore it before it was a trend, and I certainly never intended to give it up.
I do too. Have lots of colorful tights and sometimes they even have a pattern too. Love to wear them to different occacions with shorts and dresses and skirts :)
Me too! My Mum remembers clearly I did this amongst other things before it was cool, and carried on after used to make me laugh like everyone else caught up! Mostly practical though, I've never sat like a girl so it just made sense!
My red plaid tights and black mini are still a vibe imo
Sooo glad I’m not the only one 😂
It's also much warmer. Bare legs or pantyhose just prevente from being outside in a short skirt most of the year.
"Hassel free returns" are why I refuse to shop online for clothes, makeup, shoes, etc. Every company advertises "easy returns" but then require a 20-page essay, 3-hour drive to a specific location, and blood sacrifices from 3 French virgins before GeNeRoUsLy offering half-price in-store credit 😡
Damn. I don't know any French virgins. Guess I can't return.
🤣🤣🤣
We shop 99% at thrift stores and I have NEVER gone around sniffing the armpits of the clothing xD The general rule is to wash them yourself before you ever wear them anyway lol
I'm 95% sure that urban outfitters thing goes under to make it look like your skin is sparkling. it's not made to be worn alone 🤣
How do you pee!!! Body suits are the devil.
@@Birdbike719 You pull it down lol
@@basementdwellers2231 I feel like I would end up getting tired of taking everything off to pee and, depending on how the mesh is woven, attempt to pee through it 😂 ok maybe not… but rip a hole in the center and put it in the trash when I got home
I have that 😂 it’s for sexy time
Facts. I’ve seen drag queens wear them under fabulous gowns.😉
Those wedding outfits were seriously something!
The aunties absolutely killed it compared to the rest.
The officiant was the absolute worst because he is getting paid to be at the altar with them. Might have triggered the bridezilla in me, not gonna lie.
On the plus side, my beautiful gown would have looked like a royal wedding dress in comparison, lol.
The wedding !! A mess I would’ve been livid !
The white dress on the first lady - Corset belt, cardigan (a rusty orange would be so pretty), a few gemstone necklaces or a larger neck piece, ankle boots, socks with lace on the top or leg warmers, flowers in the hair or pinned to the dress... Cottagecore isn't just a single dress, it's layers with a bunch of basics. I don't wear cottagecore well myself but I've spent a lot of time with the aesthetic!
As someone who has worn many pairs of doc Martens (when they were UK made) I can tell you, I understand the pain of those Chanel boots. Wear them half a dozen times, they'll be comfy AF after. Just prepare for blisters in the interim
Yep…forget the crucial “break them in” phase…
I came here looking for this comment! Can't forget the "breaking in" phase with leather shoes. I'm going through it currently with my Docs. When my feet are killing me, my partner has to remind me of this because it feels never-ending. He went through it with his work boots, so he's through to the other, less painful side haha
yeah, that's the untold truth with paramilitary boots 🤣 at first hell and later heaven
My dad is going through this process with his new work shoes right now... I loaned him the slippers I wore after I had surgery because his feet were so beaten up 💀 also I aspire to be cool enough to wear docs lol
Exactly, I don't know why people think that the price makes a difference with having to break shoes in! As an avid Doc wearer myself I know the first few days pain well!
Re: Shein...I had a similar issue with a wedding dress that I LOVED. BUT ..I was short and a size 6, while the model was probably 8 feet tall with ling, long arms and a giraffe's neck. The dress had a long-sleeved lace coat and I was so in love with it, but I looked like I was about to do battle or get married in Wonderland.
Wearing skirts with tights is very normal for countries with colder climate. Like you want to wear a skirt, but at the same time you don't want to freeze your legs.
Agreed! I'm in the UK and I have terrible circulation, I always prefer tights under my skirts. Just bought some cute tartan ones to pair with a plain skater skirt and baggy cropped jumper
I wore tights almost everyday when in London 😂
I'm in Canada 🇨🇦 (Shout out to the GTA Charlotte) and I wear tights under dresses and skirts from October to April. I love the look.
Yeah I do that too! I don't understand what that girl on 15:55 was on about. she's dramatic
I still do!
I think Parisians would be quite offended about the 'stripes and beret'. When you look back at what you wore when you were in school, of course you may be appalled, but at the time, it was very fashionable. It is nothing to be embarrassed about. You're showing the fashion of an age and generation which is awesome if you think about it. I grew up in the eighties so you can only imagine the nightmare photos in my album.
I get the feeling that's the French equivalent of non-Asian tourists walking around Japan wearing kimonos. The locals will just think you're crazy.
I think getting offended by fashion is more of an American thing... Also, Japanese people love it when tourists wear kimono because they are appreciating the culture, it's a big thing and they have shops dedicated to putting tourists in kimono.
Parisian here...I was thinking "please, not the bérêt and the marinière, please, please...." And of course...at least they didn't add the baguette
Okay to clarify I am neither Japanese nor French but there is a definite difference between wearing a Kimono in Japan and wearing stripes and a beret in France. A kimono is a part of their culture and people from Japan appreciate your appreciation of their culture by wearing their clothing. The stripes and beret is not much more than a stereotype perpetuated by old cartoons depicting 'a French person' as this 'character' or even perfume ads that use a sailor motif with stripes for their brand that happens to be French. Very different things. Parisians will immediately tell they're just obtuse tourists.
@@NeytiriPhoenix It was the stereotype I was thinking of, but you're point is valid ❤
the white dress one (1:03), could be saved with like a corset on the stomach area, cardigan, some comfy brown boots and it could work out wonderful, like a cottage core aesthetic
Tights under skirts allow you to wear skirts in cooler weather for one thing. It works best with black tights imo. I've seen it so much in my country ever since I was a kid, particularly with boots. It's common and classic as part of winter school uniform and urban work/businesswear.
Well I love that look! I am 66 with pink hair and I still dress like that in the winter months
Yeah exactly it's normal? I don't get why it's a "thing" in the video lol
It bugs me so much when people don't make an effort to dress nice for weddings and funerals.
What I wanna know is what they thought the dress code was. Too many of them to be accidental.
@@moimeself1088ya something was definitely off there. The invitation probably said casual. No way it was a fancy wedding and that many showed up like that.
Except for the auties (bad taste imo but made an effort) everyone else was just disrespectful. Sandals and socks and ballin shorts? Dude deserves to be roasted publicly. The officiant ugh…hope she didn’t pay too much.
I dress up for weddings and funerals and I generally hate dressing up. It's something you do to show respect for the occasion and for the couple getting married or the deceased (depending on which one it is). I hate dresses and I hate wearing purple, but I wore a purple dress to my sister's wedding because that's what she wanted. I love her enough to do things like that. I wore a skirt suit to my brother's wedding, again, because I love him enough to do what I can to make a special day special. I dressed up for the funeral of my coach's wife when I was a teenager because I respected him and wanted to show my respect and support.
Even if the dress code said casual, that doesn't mean slide-ons, sweat pants, and ripped jeans are okay. For an event like that, if the dress code is casual, that means polos and slacks and the moral equivalent for dresses or skirts. Just because the wedding isn't fancy doean't mean you should show up looking like something the cat yacked up.
I am a t-shirt and jeans/cargos/shorts kinda girl.... I have almost no fashion sense yet when I KNOW you are supposed to dress nicely for weddings and funerals!!
The bride who blasted her guests, I guarantee you told people it was casual and this is what you got. You don't get that many off dressed guests unless you weren't clear about the dress code to begin with 🤣
Precisely!
I DO wash clothes before donating...because I buy thrifty too, so it's like an unspoken rule no one wants pit stains and stretched out clothes they call "worn-in" or "comfy" 😂😂😂
Ps: THANKS for all the likes! 😳😳😳 Wow ☺️
Me too! For the same reason. 💜✌
@@crimsonfirelily yes! I always wash because a lot of ppl have allergies, and I'd feel bad if my clothes, or something I wore with them(perfume, lotions, etc) caused a reaction. Hopefully they wash when they get home, but you still try them on sometimes
I never even bought second-hand before 2020 and I washed what I donated out of respect.. It's weird to not wash them😒
@@michalovesanime well most people don't wash, because they think if they aren't going to wear it, it's a waste as if the thrift store is going to wash it. Most places here have signs telling you if the clothes aren't clean, they won't trade them or take them.
Yeah, I also wash the stuff I intend to donate. That's just basic human decency to whoever will receive them...
I don’t care how casual a wedding is, unless it’s specified that anything goes, that 2nd person with the wedding guest attire has every right to judge.
I’m 42. My brother got married in 2003. It was a small, modest wedding. I was super goth at the time. I legit bought khaki colored wide legged trousers and a pale green high necked blouse to wear because everything I owned would’ve made it look like I was going to a funeral. I don’t even think my brother or sister-in-law would’ve cared if I wore all black like I always did (still do, lol). I would’ve just felt weird about it.
They’re still married! My niece will be 20 in May. ❤
Wish her a happy birthday for me!!
If you say casual, it’s casual. Nobody wants to play mind games.
It’s the bonnet throwing off the cottage core dress lmfao. Little House on the Prairie vibes 😂
I don’t know if you’ve ever watch the nanny, but Fran has proven the tights under skirts is still and always will look amazing when worn, right!
The Nanny stopped production in 1999. So yes; 24 years ago that look was the shiz... when worn right (ie; slim figure, Spanx, etc.)
Good! Cause I still like it! Not what she was wearing, but tihhts are meant to be worn under skirts! What do you do when it's cold?! They're for keeping your legs warm!
@Ninus Philolipater Yeah and twenty four years to today she still looks amazing in them! Timeless when worn right ;]
@Kewtie yes! And I personally think they're just flattering to the legs ;].
@@JustEPlease agreed!
The couple in Paris is the loudest 'Tell Me You're American Without Telling Me You're American' ever 🤣
Okay, but the Urban Outfitters one I had a similar situation lmaooo. I was shopping for a friend's wedding and went to this store where the dress on the rack looked like it would fit on one arm, but the material was actually super comfy and stretchy lol. And not stretchy in the sense where it's squeezing you in all the wrong places, it literally felt so comfortable, form fitting, and flattering.
This wedding outfit roast is too real for me - my brother literally made us go shopping with him for a button down the day before our wedding when everyone was in town and we were supposed to be relaxing and entertaining AND THEN HE WORE RED CROCS TO THE WEDDING WITH A BENZ JIBBIT TO MATCH HIS CAR
I could hear u screaming . 😂😂😂
@@suvashree100 Omgsh! Same! LoL!
My cousin showed up to his brother's wedding, which was at an yacht club with street clothes while everyone else was either dress to the 9's or at least something nice enough to wear to a church, funeraldressy wedding attire.
@@karentucker2161 my brother and sister in law also wore street clothes to my wedding, saying they didn't have nicer clothes (which isn't true) and everyone else came dressed really well.
I told them, as a thank you, I would attend their wedding in a pink sport suit (think back, like many many years ago, those neon pink ones). They nervously laughed and said that I would never do that, but I just shrugged.
I would've shown up in this pink sport suit, just to give them a little taste of my pettiness and wearing a dress underneath to get quickly changed before the ceremony, but for some reason, I want invited to the wedding.
I'm still laughing. I mean after croc hating for years, I finally tried a pair and fell in love. But people, CROCS ARE NOT proper footwear to wear outside the home. And red? LMFAO
Respectfully Charlotte, before I donate clothes to Goodwill not only do I wash them, I treat any stains with Shout to get rid of them. Then when I fold them nicely putting them in a bag or box, I stick a pack of Lavendar in with them so a nice smell is there for the workers as they display.
May your pillow me cold on the other side.
I forgot Shout! was a thing
Please Don't add Scented items to Donated items! Many folks are allergic to scents, lavender being a common allergy. A lot of thrift store will simply throw out the clothes if they have ANY sort of scent on them! (One of my kids is a manager at a national chain)
First lady is amazing! I immediately thought Sister from The Sound of Music - that outfit, running up some hills in Austria as her debut 💞
i was thinking of Maria too lol especially when charlotte said brown vest
"No one washes before donating" I am SO glad my ocd forces me to wash and iron before donating clothes 😄
Also, all shoes hurt when they're new especially womens shoes for some reason lol you have to wear them in for a bit but they could also be the wrong size tbh
I wouldn’t donate dirty clothes! I’m sad so many people are disrespectful of others this way.
I always wash clothes before donating them! Also according to a work mate of mine who used to work at a Value Village, they wash donated clothes before putting them out on the racks!
The falling girl had me *_wheezing,_* especially as I forgot I had this on 2x speed so she just bounced off the door and slammed into the floor, had to watch it a few more times then realized I needed to slow it down and suddenly was able to hear the guy asking her if she was okay... and yeah, that sent me again.
Never wore leggings with jean skirts, but, one, I'm an older millennial so it was coming into style a tiny bit late for me and, two and more importantly, I hate wearing dresses and skirts and wouldn't have worn it even at its most popular. 😆
Those boots looked so nice, I bet she just needed some nice Dr. Scholl's gel foot supports and a few days of breaking it in for a few minutes at a time for it to work.
LOL okay that first dress is honestly so pretty on her! I think she just needs some accessories to break up the white, maybe open up the neckline a bit
The reason I wore tights with skirts in elementary school was to avoid plastic burns from going down the slide. Also, it was slightly warmer in the winter to do so.
Hi Charlotte! - I just wanted to say : I *always* wash clothes before I donate them ; I would feel so ashamed to donate nasty clothes.
That's what I was thinking. I always go through my closet to donate, never my laundry basket.
Oh thank goodness I was wondering, doesn't everyone donate washed clothes? But like she said apparently not .... I am happy to see your comment that my instinct of donating good clean clothes was // is correct.
Same! Who donates stinky dirty clothes? Yuck!
Me too!
Yeah, I used to work in a charity that also collected 2nd hand stuff and the things people donated blew my mind. I'm talking dirty underpants, hairbrushes with hair in them, broken children's toys, bags of clothes that smelled so bad when you opened it, they literally went straight into the trash because there was no rescuing it. People ask what should and shouldn't they donate and my response is: if you would be embarrassed to have that bag opened and gone through while you're standing there, don't donate it.
15:55 the reason is because the teachers and principal didn’t want kids wearing short skirts. One time I had a take-top (IS THAT HOW YOU SPELL IT?!? 😭😭😭) I also had a cardigan just incase I got cold. It was a very hot day out and my teacher’s class room was cold. THIS GIRL MADE ME WEAR THE CARDIGAN ALL DAY. IT WAS HOT AS HECK. I also got in trouble for having peppermints. *Peppermints.* I’m not even joking. I had A. Throw them away or B. Go to the principal’s office. MA’AM THEY ARE PEPPERMINTS. WOULD YOU LIKE ONE BECAUSE OF HOW BAD YOUR BREATH STINKS? I hate school :)
Charlotte, you literally cure my depression. I look forward to your videos as I’m always as early as I can. I always tell my friends they should watch you because you’re amazing, petty, sassy, and funny! ❤
My daughter watches her too, and I send clips to my friends hoping that they'll have the same humor as me 😂
Yes, yes, yes🥹❤️
You add some fashion stays, a cute wide brim hat, maybe a wicker basket, and some pearl earrings and it would’ve been a cute cottagecore moment. It really just needs some color to it to avoid that culty hospital gown feeling she’s talking about. Taking her hair out of her bonnet would help immensely as well, because the missing hair with the glasses definitely add to the Mennonite, Dark Amish Secrets-vibe.
I personally love the first dress. She can add flowers and a cute belt. She just needs to style it correctly. I wear dresses like this all the time and get compliments for it. The dress is just a base for cute cottagecore accessories.
I wore tights (sheer black, not leggings) under jean shorts in high school in ‘94 and ‘95. I had cut the jeans into shorts myself (from thrifted denim, which was not cool then, we were just poor). I loved it and was the only one doing it at my school. I realized it became a trend much later. I got some bullying looks and comments, but I thought I looked great! I didn’t let anyone stop me. I still think it would look good 😅
They do still look good. It’s just a styling issue for that one girl. The Tights were too opaque and clashed with the very light outfit
Tights under denim shorts was BIG in the early 10s haha
You were just ahead of the trend 😉
Thats cute❤
I started wearing skirts with opaque tights when every phone came with a camera and I was tired of people chasing me and other girls around holding their phones down awkwardly like no one would notice what they were doing.
It got really bad back in the days with the flip-phones. Every train station, every convention, every day at school, even when you push your cart minding your own business at the super market. If you wear a skirt: guy tries to snap an picture of your underwear.
I still see this on a regular basis!
I’m from Alaska and just recently moved to Texas, hearing Charlotte say “value Village“ made my heart flutter
I love the honesty of people saying "what was I thinking". Warms the cockles of your heart 🖤🖤🖤
Will never forget my first pair of platforms I saved up for as a teen in the mid 70’s. I wore them for about 2 hours and then took a spectacular fall down a flight of stairs. Mortified and petrified, I threw them in the bin. Big time fashion fail.
"well this didn't turn out as expected" gets an A++ from me. That was the highlight of the show. Congrats Dear! It made my day. Thanks for that laugh.
German Schadenfreude got the best of us huh? Me too. Sorry for her, but it was too funny 😂😂😅
Hemming the cottagecore dress would make it perf! It was a bit long, but the dress highlighted her figure so well!
I’m an Italian girl and I’ve been enjoying your videos for some time now…when you said “bigioia” I remembered my own grandma calling it like that and I laughed so hard!!😂😂😂 It’s like saying “double happiness”…in a way, it fits actually😂😂😂
At least Charlotte's style and sense of humour is always on point and fabulous. 😂❤️
Right? Love her beautiful face!
I literally am obsessed your channel .. I started watching you when I was sitting in hotel rooms doing castings for the Gucci 100 year anniversary show. My nerves were soooo SHoT and I was extremely lonely sitting in my lux hotel suite and desperately needed a friend. And you came along !!! I found your vids and I ended up getting the job for Gucci! Thank you :)
“What we’re we thinking?!” Is the theme of every generation when looking back on high school fashion.
Every
Generation
(From and 80’s gen. high schooler here)
Honestly my high school years weren’t bad but I was in middle school for the baggy low rider jean trend and I’m sad it’s back…
What!! The 80's fashions were like totally gnarly!!
That sparkly sheer leotard has a security tag that is ABSOLUTELY going to create a huge hole or a run in whatever that garment is!!
The weird thing about fashion is that we weren't crazy it was just genuinely cute then it just looks crazy now. In 10 years we are gonna be looking at the things everyone is wearing now going "why?!"
That first outfit: it's basically a cheap and cheerful undershift; the base. You need an overskirt and a bodice to layer it up.
But, yes, very ghostly maiden vibes! Or a starter gown for a cult? It's definitely something extra! 😁
Just save that white dress as the base for a bomb Halloween costume! You could do a handful of historic style costumes with it
True!! Or dye it black and add a black corset, and you have a bomb witch dress
@@Caitilizzie ooh black colored trim of some sort
0:43 I think if you add a green apron a a brown corset over that with some brown boots and white poofy cuffs it could be fixed
I always, always wash clothes before donating.
That grosses me out that people don't.
I wash them when I bring them home too!
@@suzi_mai Same!
I wash them first too unless it's dry clean only... Which I don't have much of, maybe some coats or dresses for weddings. But have to wash items I purchase too cause too many don't. I appreciate others that put in that effort though. If you resell online be sure to mention you wash everything first.
More of these sort of outfit fails/makeup fails would be great! They're soooo funny and you're reactions are priceless lol
Those cutout jeans with my cesarean scar... *Chefs kiss* 🤌🏼
Charlotte is the only person that I find comfort, I was crying a while ago but I found her video and watched it but I'm laughing now
Don’t cry bb mamas here
@@CharlotteDobre I read it as don't cry, bb mama's here😅😅
16:15 It was worse than just jean skirts with tights! It was calf length leggings, additional cool points if there was lace at the bottom 😭Add 3 tank tops layered and a wide woven belt with no purpose 😂
& bonus cool points for lace-up high-heeled booties, preferably white, with socks that have lace on the top, accessorized with tons of jelly bracelets!
The leggings n Jean skirt....😅😂😂 I feel called out😆😂😂😂
I love Abi Clarke, and her video with Maddy had me laughing the WHOLE time. The fact you come across said video has made my week, as my fave react content creator says she likes one of my fave comedians/content creators. 💕
She’s absolutely hilarious
Same
Her ASOS fashion meetings are _so_ funny! It was her cat/dog videos thatI stumbled on first though. She's just hilarious!
First dress is totally salvageable! A corset and a rucked up over skirt would give it a period piece flair. If you can sew: Rip the front seam and stitch some lace into a V-collar. A corset vest or even a broad ribbon at the waist. The fit is great on her figure, it just needs details.
12:08 your Italian genes popped out😂🇮🇹
I still wear skirts with tights, but it's mostly because I don't want people seeing all the scars on my legs haha
Same
The tights like the lady wearing the Chanel boots look great, but leggings like the ones you wear to the gym or the ones with lace trim not so much
I wear tights because chafing 😂 big thigh problems, but I happily have never lost a phone I've dropped in my lap
Oh and I'm also pasty af 😭
I didnt know it was frowned upon... now i feel paranoid.
I wear skirts with tights, but back when it was popular I saw a few girls wear actual trousers with flared legs under the skirt.
The leggings with the skirt are cute! When I was in high school, we would wear JEANS under a cotton summer dress. What were we thinking?🤣 Thanks for the lols!
That shien white dress looks like a well fitted victorian nightgown made out of bed sheets and paper napkins, I laughed so hard that I cried😂
My mother in law, so the mother of the groom, wore a black and white tie dye beach cover up to our wedding. Oh and they were 15 minutes late. Man that’s a story
Oh,, I'm so sorry... Do tell! 🤣
Yes, we're invested in this story now, don't hold back!
Keepin' it classy.
WOW.
Was there a lot of traffic from the beach 😂
When I was a teenager I did horse shows and my show boots were essentially the EXACT SAME STYLE as those Chanel boots. And probably cost the same. I'm 40 now and STILL have my horse show boots. I would bet those Chanel boots fall apart after one year of regular wear. Also, I was able to wear my show boots all day with no pain. I just popped in a foam insole and was good to go. :)
14:55 Get a pair of 9" Original SWAT sidezip boots...they look almost the same but feel like you're walking on a cloud and fit your feet perfectly....at least the 4-5 pairs of them I've bought over the years (and used almost daily for 7-8 months of the year including in the field !). Go get 'em girl
As someone with an insane dress addiction and a love for SHEIN. They have an awesome return policy. There is times where they told me not to even bother sending it back and gave me an instant refund. The few times I have had to send the item back, the return shipping is free and you get refunded the minute they get a shipping receipt.
I was gonna say the same thing! Also, reading the reviews is hugely important to understand the size you need.
@@aimeeduhon3303 it’s also important to remember your own body type when looking at pics on models before ordering. A lot of those outfits were cute just not the right fit for a short curvy body.
@pagangirl420 oh most definitely. You also may be taller or shorter, so that can change the way clothes fit as well.
The leggings and mini skirt thing was because of school dress codes. You literally couldn't wear skirts that length!
I don't see why it's a diss really, basic bland colors that are tight like for winter are amazing. Plus It depends what your doing, I still wear shorts or leggings with boots during winter, or at my job because we'll let's just say it gets physical sometimes and you have to have the ability to get away.
All of the outfits that the one girl bought in the haul looked good, they just needed to be fitted/taken in.💯
Charlotte is that one UA-camr were I can binge watch her videos, wait until she post just to keep binge watching ❤ Love you girl ❤
That late reaction on the Ana de Armas one had me😹😹😹😹😹
It’s truly heinous. If it doesn’t look good on someone that pretty it’s just not a good idea period.
It is horrendous, but was there something I missed? Lol
The pastor wore a hot pink shirt and sweatpants to my wedding reception. I felt as if it was extremely disrespectful as everyone else dressed appropriately and I think he did it because I had a conservative family and wanted to prove a point. The photographer was on point and there are no pictures of him tho. Thank goodness! So so disrespectful!
Here's a fun thing to do with your friends when you're bored. Go to a thrift shop and find the ugliest clothes you can find. It must be an entire outfit, shirt and top, and if you can find shoes, belt or a hat, bonus! The catch is, then you all have to go out somewhere wearing it. No cheating. It must be as hideous as possible or it doesn't count. Now, you can get something nice, so long as it clashes blindingly with the rest of the outfit. Ready? GO my pretties and laugh your butts off! We used to have so much fun, we'd laugh until we had to pee and couldn't breathe. The looks we'd get were priceless, lol! We'd be done up with makeup and stuff, which really made people look. Nice makeup and hideous clothes is such an oxymoron, people couldn't understand what they were seeing. I think Charlotte needs to do this with a couple of friends and then post the video of the reactions. George Carlin was a huge advocate of keeping people on their toes. What better way to honor that request!
Do it Charlotte!
That sounds like so much fun! I'm a huge thrift store girl so this wouldn't be hard!
I hope you donate the unwanted items back to the store though? It might be a cheap laugh for you, but some people depend on thrift prices and one person's trash is another person's treasure, I wouldn't want them to miss out on something they genuinely could use because you and your friends bought it for fun.
My sister just went to a birthday party with this theme. But she’s just gorgeous and a fashion designer and can somehow look amazing in anything🤦♀️😂
@@lissieloveskitties THANK YOU. I am really really frustrated with this trend of people going to thrift stores and buying intentionally too large clothes to prove they can "upcycle" them to make them fit, or buying clothes to convert to Halloween outfits for one night. As someone who literally had to live off the Value Village plus size rack (which is really hard to do for a 20-something wanting to look trendy) for two years, it's really not cool to see items people genuinely need to go to work/school being picked up for "fun" or jokes or craft projects.
Not all of us have nice legs. 😂 I wore denim skirts with tights/leggings in high school and I continue to think they’re cute. In my 30s not a look I think I can pull off, but still cute. If you have nice legs where you can walk around with them bare, feel blessed.
I'm 33 and still wear tights or leggings with boots and skirts. Totally can pull it off. And same. Don't feel comfortable with bare legs.
I'm dead....😂 "tag washed away"- on the greasy jacket!!
The girl who caught her boot on the bathroom cabinet had me dying!
For the first girl.... If she had a black corset and set the skirt a lil differently it COULD look like the sleeping beauty dress before the blue/pink one
I am laughing so much with the outfits. My father in law wore crocs, basketball shorts and a T-Shirt. He got mad at me, my husband and my mother in law for not telling him to dress up to our WEDDING, even tough months prior my husband helped him buying nice shirts, pants and shorts, so he would have something nice to wear. And he even said " I didn't even know I was going to be part of the wedding party" . YOU ARE THE GROOM'S DAD!!!
Charlotte, I love your sense of humour! I fall asleep listening to your channel, keep being awesome! love from South Africa
Hey Charlotte… I have a pro tip for vintage shopping at places like Goodwill… I carry a travel size downy fabric refresher, wrinkle release spray in my car for normal day-to-day needs but then if I ever pop in a goodwill or use clothing place, I will throw that bottle in my bag and just give anything. I am trying on a spritz just so it does smell freshly washed or at least like maybe it’s even been washed in the last decade lol, luckily I find that most of the stuff is clean or just a little musty from age but not from actually being dirty because mostly women donate clothes even if it’s men’s clothes, the women are the ones usually who actually take the initiative to gather said clothing, put it in a bag and bring it to a donation center Lol and luckily most of us women are not trash bags for the most part lol I live in Buffalo right on the other side of the water from Canada, so hey neighbor! I don’t know if they have this thrift in kind of store in Canada, but AMVETS is the best thrift store place like Goodwill but way better and for a 10th of the price maybe and it actually goes to a charitable cause all proceeds are donated back to the veterans to the VA and if you find an expensive pair of jeans and a place like that it’s still gonna be five bucks like the rest of the jeans unlike Goodwill when God forbid something is a name brand and they jacked the price up like Homie if I was gonna pay that close to retail I just go buy a new and not off this rack and Goodwill were somebody with PP hands or butt scratching could’ve touched it and I don’t know lol just sayin hhahah
I agree 100% also it depends on what neighborhood the store is located in. If you find a thrift store such as a Amvets located in richer area, they tend to have high end items. I noticed this when living in WA state. I had a favorite thrift store in a rich neighborhood that always had high end clothing, shoes and bags for awesome prices. Oh how I miss that that store. 💜✌
For the first one I say corset I love it
13:05 I literally snorted like a pig laughing. I didn’t even know I could do that 😭😭😭😂🤣🤣🤣
honestly, anything that offends anna wintour (or, as legendary fashion editor ALT described her, "the Colonial Dame") is more than fine in my books. Also, I usually wear most of my new shoes around the house for 1-2 weeks before wearing them out. This way they get broken in gradually. For leather ones, I also apply some leather conditioner on the leather after purchasing to ensure they stretch well and don't crease too much.
The leggings under a skirt, my missus said it was a safety thing from predators but she also said that her friends group was never dumb enough to wear anything but plain black leggings (no brand name so no logo)
Wait, why are we acting like those Chanel boots aren’t just fancy rain boots?
They were so ugly
Ok, boot wearers, you need to take some tips from an old goth. If your boots are pure leather, you break them in by wearing wet socks in them around the house for a couple of days! It makes the leather form around your foot shape, and saves you from shafing!!
