- What do you do when is costs $10 for a box of .410? You reload of course!
I demonstrate that you do not have to buy fancy equipment to enjoy the benefits of reloading some 410.
Leave a comment if you'd like a more in depth video on the press.

If it looks stupid but it works then it isn't stupid.
Unfair comment Kenny. The only stupid thing to be seen around here is you Kenny. This is a good easy to make reloader that is helping me and probably hundred's of other .410 reloading people that have seen the video. Good work on producing this video Trevor.
It doesn't look stupid at all, it's your thinking that is so shallw
He didnt say it was stupid tho
He's saying it's not stupid because it actually works
@@7316bobe maybe learn to read before you call others stupid
Good enough and well done. This is the best home made .410 loading video that I have seen so far.
Thanks for the plans, you're a genius. Greetings from Argentina
410 is an amazing shotgun caliber
Glad this showed on my feed.
Thank you for taking the time to upload this!
Been toying with the idea of attaching MEC & BPI crimping parts to my Lee press for 410.
It definitely expedites the crimping process, happy loading!
Most useful video on UA-cam that I've seen so far
Neat bit of home made engineering.......and there is the satisfaction of saying..."I made it myself".......Thanks for the vid, and it has given me ideas to help me reload my own 410 stuff.
Thanks Trevor. May the Force be with you always.
Thank you for this! I now have hope I can make my own .410 fleshettes, nail loads, fragmentation, and self defense rounds
So great to see things like this!
You should sell these. I would buy one. Great idea.
Jason hewitt if the form factor was improved I would likely purchase one myself. It’s been almost 3 years, perhaps an update is in order.
Very impressive! I can see a few possibilities for improvement but it work very well as it is. Well done.
Excellent design and video I too am starting to reload my own 410 shells, fortunately in my little home Workshop I have a nice little lathe and milling machine which is going to allow me to really dial in my reloader either making it totally separate or making an addition to my Lee reloader that I use for reloading my brass. I'm sure you also would benefit if you found yourself a nice little lathe and mill at the right price for all your projects. Thanks for taking the time to show your reloader and process. I see you can reload comfortably the 410 in approximately 45 seconds each, what a money saver!!!
This was awesome. I never had a 410, but a friend of mine just got one for his son for christmas and we couldn't find much out there for reloading it. Your video was very well done and helpful in showing the steps you took to reload it, would it be possible to have a video where you show your process for making it?
this looks fun 2 do in a cabin During winter !
Love it !! Just love it !! I find reloading VERY therapeutic !! Seeya Rob
Nice build. Yea, I don't understand why Lee doesn't offer a press for 410 considering the cost of 410 shells! It's not worth it to reload 12 ga birdshot (for me anyway) but 410 is definitely worth the hassle!
They said that they can't get the tooling right to do it safely I think.
They say on website it's to hard to make i think they just don't wanna do it
That is really cool good job. I love it when people make there own stuff.
Great project my friend!!! Very simple and the shells come out looking far better than most 410 reloads I’ve seen at the gun club!!!!!
Effing brilliant! You just earned a new sub!
I like your ingenuity
Like your Ingenuity it's a great video keep up the great work
very well done.
You're a freaking genius!
Great work, the price of .410 shells is crazy, most beginners use this calibre, all ammunition is getting out of hand in general, shooting is being taken off shooters on low wages!
Any plans on making another? Id love to buy one
Really want to make on of these!!! Cool idea...
Good job!! Love it!!
PATENT IT!!!!! MAKE MILLIONS!!!!
Dude thanks for the video you just made my week now i'm on a mission to build one!! crazy how there isnt a load all in 410!!!
Kirkland brand lead. Hmm I’ll have to pick some up next time I’m at Costco 🤓😉
Would love another video for more details about the press
Now this is what a diy prepper needs to make for their shotguns
Thanks for sharing your design. I've already seen two improvements to it by other you tubers. Same goes for commercial tools.
I am amazed. I have been wanting to reload 410 shells for a while now.
Inspirational!
Well done!
That’s reali nice!!!!👌🏻👍🏻
This is great! Off to the steel yard for supplies. Thank you much. Subbed!
Outstanding
That's pretty cool man!
Awesome job!
Good job mate, very good job!
I love the crimping technique. Everything about this setup very cleaver but I was wondering as I was watching what kind of DIY gadget you had come up with.... Very nice indeed!
Beautiful work....very impressive...aloha from Hawaii
Thank you for providing the drawings! I just purchased 2 boxes of 410 shells for $60 bucks, unreal! I'm going to build this!
I was going through you drawings and found there were no dimensions dor the decanting, priming and final crimp rod. Is the drawing to 1 to 1 scale or can you provide the dimensions? Thanks, great work on the drawings!
what about resizing?
A genius
Well done Sir.
Very nice mate . Best wishes from the uk
You sir, won the survivalist award
Nice work
Omg. Thank you!!
Very nice job 👍
Pretty slick.
Brilliant
Love the shot scoop!
Sweet. Thanks for sharing... peace
No 410 press, no 28ga press, no 16ga press - just 12's and 20's (in the load all design)
Yours is very nice - I'll be replicating soon enough - especially since I have a load all clone in pieces at the house :)
I have a load all in 16.
Late comment but the 16 gauge lee load all has been a thing for a very long time. I have one.
Absolutely amazing!! hats off..
Awesome!
Nice job.
I like it a lot good job
Thanks for the video.
Cool vid dude!
Impressive press. Way better than I could have made lol.
Hello thanks for your video, I really appreciated, is it possible to have a more detailed plan to make one? if you do not mind with the measurements and materials needed? Looking forward to your reply receive all my encouragement for your research.
I just broke my loadall base.Your homemade job looks sturdier for sure!
funtastic
Awesome
Mec makes dies for the junior and it works very well. But that is still a cool home made version looks like it works well too.
Nice!!!
How do they shoot once reloaded? Any good?
Nice
Is there anyway I could get a set of plans for the press from you
drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Lvq8APqn_ams05ERVeMqGjLe0eMWNVX9?usp=sharing
brilliant press trevor utterly brilliant
how to buy all bullet stuff from online???
I have bought several used Lee load all's and plan to cut off the twelve gague stuff and do what you did to your home made frame. Has to work.
@Emmitt Walsh not yet. just startd fooling with my reloading items a couple of weeks ago. been sorting brass and tools to get organized. i had a bad habit of not putting thingsaway in the proper place. but i found my 3/8 tap i need and put it in the box with the lee load all. once hurricane ida passes i will have a look at this project. thanks for asking.
Pretty awesome. I’m the same way. I love to build stuff. I’ll bet you tear everything apart and keep all the parts before you throw stuff away. A MEC reloader would be faster but not as satisfying.
Ingenious.
why pay for something you can make yourself
Have you ever try the circle orlating?
That's so great! thank you for the drawing, i'm gona make one for sure! the only question i got is: what"s the lenght of each die that you made from a 3/8 hex bolt?
The decapping and capping bolts are 3.8" in overall length measuring the tip of the bolts to the underside of their heads. The final crimp bolt is 2.5" in overall length. They're pretty easy to adjust using washers as shims. Good luck!
At 3:20, there's a bulge in the plastic, right above the brass. I think you should support that section better while reloading so it doesn't cause you feeding-issues while shooting.
I was demonstrating what too much pre-crimp pressure will do. The full length brass tube I use during final crimping is too tall for the pre crimp operation. Good eye.
I noticed the bulge too and thought to myself " that shell is never going to chamber"
Nice vedeo sir
Genius
As much as I understand the joy and helpfulness such a homemade press can bring, the squeaking totally turn me off.
Ha, at least it doesn't sound like a screen door as some Mecs and Lees do.
Not bad, not bad at all
Cheers
Great job, thanks for the upload and diagrams, will build one this winter. any updates you've made?
None yet. I'm shooting through some boxes and will need to do another run soon.
Resize the brass?
Makes sense seeing that 410 shells r ridiculously expensive
Can i buy one off ya?
Hello.... Can we used. 410 percussion caps on 12 shotshells..
How much did it cost for the parts?
Did you base this reloader on a lee load all ll ? Just so I have a idea on scale because I want to build one if you can shoot me the dementions and detailed parts list so I can see what I have already and what parts I need to get thanks
It does borrow its design from the Lee Loader. There are some drawings in the description.
Thank you, beats loading .410 with black powder by hand. Might just build a copy of yours when I get back from Afghanistan
It’s fun to tinker with, stay safe downrange.
This is awesome. What about resizing the brass?
I ponied up for a used Mec Super Sizer in 410.
Thumbs up!! My only question is on the step where you seat the primer... is that bolt hollow to let the primer come all the way in??
Yes but not as much as you would think. The shell base is about 3/16" thick so the primer peeks through a tad. 0:24
@@Peanutdinos3000 i see it now.. ty my friend.. stay safe
You should roll crimp the ends and use a paper cardboard cover disk then roll crimp with a drill or drill press is best and faster.
Cool Press. I’m looking to begin reloading 410 due to no ammo available. How many times can you reload those hulls?
Quite a few times, you'll gain a sense when they're ready for the bin.
If you decide to make a bunch and sell these id Definitely buy
Nice!!! You got a parts list so others can make it?
The BOM and working drawings are in the description. There's quite a bit of interest, I think I'll throw a video together this summer on construction and accessories.
good
