    What lens would you recommend? I’m a beginner I have the sigma 35mm ( also loved your review on it). I want to do a combination of portraits and Candids but noticed that for Cándida that require zoom is shows a lot of noise :(
    What other lens would you recommend?

    • @jamesallen8107
      @jamesallen8107 Місяць тому +1

      I'm not Andrew, but for what its worth, I've been looking at different Canon EOS R series cameras for purchase. I used to be a 35mm film camera person many years ago, have had a number of non-dslr digital cameras since, but would like to get a better mirrorless, interchangeable lens camera sometime soon. I like having a long zoom range personally, particularly for travel and being out and about, avoiding switching lenses... capturing a picture in the moment, not missing something while changing lenses. I'm leaning toward an R7 or R10 with the Canon 18-150 Image Stabilized zoom. But as Andrew alluded to, the choice will depend on a person's specific needs and budget. Also adding 1 or more fixed lenses for specific needs - youtube or portraits, you could get something with a larger/faster aperture, generally sharper, or could consider an adapter EF-EOS-R which allows using 3rd party EF lenses, that tend to provide additional choices that may be more affordable. Also note that some of the noise tends to vary depending on light level, and for people willing to do some light post editing, software comes with option to smooth the noise some in the final picture, as needed. If I were to add a lens, I'll probably add a longer zoom, as it seems like my subjects are more likely to be farther away than I'd prefer, to get a larger image in the frame.

    Great video as always! Can’t wait to see what videos you make on it soon!! I’m personally hoping that canon opens back up to sigma and viltrox at the very LEAST so that they can make fast autofocus primes for the lower budget RF mount users.

      Thanks! Yes I totally agree and feel like most Canon shooters feel the same way about the Sigma 1.4 primes. It's bound to happen soon enough!

    • @AndrewKnepper
      @AndrewKnepper  23 дні тому +1

      Any of those options are going to be a nice upgrade so depending on your budget the R7 or R8 would be the best, but saving some money and going with the R10 and then using the extra money on a nice lens would be what I'd recommend!
