Awesome build Ol’ Son! Nice fork selection! Keep up the hard work!
Hahaha thanks so much! 🙌 Trying to keep it interesting!
I definitely don’t have a trained MTB eye, but I felt like the landings were smoother with the new upgrades! Cool vid!
No you're absolutely right. The bike feels very light on its toes and athletic. It was super capable before, but now its just dialed in.
The tires 🥵 such a perfect tie in!!
We can thank Versus Tires for that mega bit of kit!
This is the video I was looking for. I'm planning on getting the siskiu N9.
Thanks for the very valuable info. :-)
Glad it was helpful! If you need anything else, just drop a comment. Thanks for watching!
Wow what a build. I love the T7 before I can't imagine how awesome it is after. Great video...thanks!
It’s a remarkable bike both before and after. I feel as though I only amplified strengths it already had. Thanks for watching!
Killer build! Looks so dialed and I can’t believe you got the weight down that much. Must feel so much better on those climbs 🤙🏼
As the video describes. MOUNTAIN GOAT. Bike feels amazing. Thanks for checking in!
The trail that I went on with my Vander t7 was in Sedona Arizona. Great trails there!
Oh yeah I hear great things about Sedona!
you deserve way more followers and views awesome content
Thank you Amanda! 🙌
Amazing bike! Got One myself and been upgrading it!i have put a lyrik ultimate 160mm fork,a cane creek kitsuma double barrel coil shock and it changed the bike!!it is capable to withstand gnarly trails with ease.now waiting for the magura mt7 brakes to arrive, togheter with the dtswiss wheels and Maxxis assegai front and Minions dhr at the back!.it Will shred 😅
Sounds like a pretty wild setup. That's a lot of travel up front, so I assume you must do a lot of downhill action. Glad you're enjoying it and also realize the capabilities of this bike! Cheers!
@@JaredRMorgan only 10mm more when it comes to travel from the original fork, since my t7 is a 27,5 wheel. But yeah,i focus mostly at descending, even though i do climb a lot in order to get to my home trails (Sintra, Portugal).and the t7 still climbs really well, just lock the shock and it feels pretty much like an hardtail.
Ah yes that makes plenty sense if you have the 27.5 platform. I forget the travel figure increases. Again, sounds like a rad bike!
The T7 has really made an impact on the sub/around 2000 dollar bike market any videos on this impactful bike will sure to garner lots of attention. What I think would be a useful and very popular video for those joining/or stepping up the mountain bike community would be to do a sensible affordable set of upgrade that significantly lightens and improves the bike as I think as stock its a little heavy. The recon that is comes with is already rated as a XC fork, and so given the bike's target/actual audience one of the lighter but more robust XC forks such as the RockShox Reba, because that's what people will want is something realistic to aspire to now we know from this video what the approximate maximum weight savings will be. Mine came with Schwalbe Hansd Dampf 29x2. weight was 920 each which is lighter than the versus wheels which are 1050.
Truth is I wasn’t even worried about weight so much, I just wanted to build an impressive bike for people to enjoy as well as a bike I knew I’d be stoked to ride long term. If I wanted to go full weight weenie I truly believe this bike is capable of going sub 30. It’s really incredible!
@@JaredRMorgan Bit by bit I might try to take mine there. Thanks for your time and the great videos. :)
Love the trailer. Also, agree with the borderline excessive cost. haha You could buy TWO T7's at the upgrade cost. haha But nonetheless, excited to see what components you got and see the results!
Thanks bro! I appreciate you staying tuned in and sharing in the stoke!
Well, now I know what your passion is. :-) I look forward to your video.
Thank you! Excited for everyone to see it as well. 🙌
Getting mine tomarow!! So, exited!!
Congrats! Gonna be sick!
@@JaredRMorgan tell me, at the store they also have the Marin rift zone 1 27.5 and its cheaper. What to you think I should do?
Upgrade made a big difference! Interested in learning more about the wheelset.
So they’re a 28H carbon hoop laced with Sapim CX Ray bladed spokes to sealed bearing hubs. You have 612 points of engagement at the freehub with 3.5 degrees of engagement. The new wheel and tire setup accounted for 3.35lb of weight being shaved off the bike which is insane. Session gives you 2 year warranty on carbon wheels. They retail for 1300, but you get 10% off that if you use coupon code CURECYCLING. That’s the most I can tell you for now, and I can generate more long term data as I ride them more. 👍
@@JaredRMorgan that's a big weight savings. Very cool wheel setup. Looking forward to getting your long term impressions about them. I just got a set of We Are One Unions that I plan to review soon. I like these value carbon wheel options.
I had weareone! Strong as can be! I did find them to be overly stiff though, but I had the old agent which was replaced by the union. Supposed to be better.
Nice man cant wait
Thanks for the support!
The colours on this bike are amazing 😉🎉
Would have to agree. This is my first loud bike in a very long time! Thanks for watching!
I always thought that the current trend in the mountain bike industry of dower (some might say mature) colors, with the odd occasional standout paint design design (on one of the pricier models) was too conservative and boring. I think Polygon has got it right with their nice paint jobs on all of their reasonably priced cycles. They make the owners want to get on the bike and ride it.
wow my revel(full carbon) is 31.5 lbs, going to have to get those carbon hoops!
Yeah man I love my new wheels! Session makes some incredible stuff. Make sure you use my coupon if you decide to buy as it will save you 10% which is a solid chunk when the setup runs $1299.
Cool! You went with the pike ultimate then. Good stuff! Although you went a bit crazy :)
I sure did, but the pike select is just as legit. I have links for both forks below. Crazy is the way when it comes to UA-cam lol.
@@JaredRMorgan yeah and the weight is crazy. The fork in your link is unavailable ATM but I will check it out when the time comes.
Which one? The ultimate or the select? I can try to find you an alternative.
@@JaredRMorgan I looked for the select but I'm not buying yet so don't worry. But maybe change it in case anyone else is interested for now.
Been thinking about wheelset lately. Already went tubeless with my T8 but that's it so far. Would there be a significant difference if I switched to the Industry Nine 101 S Enduro wheelset? 30mm internal rim width and just 100g heavier than the Trail version but you could fit wide trail tires. Wheelset is supposedly the lightest if you're on a budget and not looking to go carbon.
That would be a good move! Don't forget you can also scoop the Session Wheelset I got at a discount if you use the coupon code CURECYCLING. You'll probably drop almost 3lbs if you go that route.
wow 31 lbs, super impressive! sexy bike too!
Thanks a bunch! I wanted to prove to all the nay sayers that entry full suspension bikes like this T7 can be lightweight monsters if you take the time to upgrade it. Thanks for watching!
hey, how do you ike the pike ? i'm being torn between a pike ultimate and a lyrik ultimate in 150mm for a kona process. since i do some chairlift acess bike park a few time a year i was leaning more toward the lyrik but the weight of the pike deinitely make me curious.
Having owned both, I can't tell much of a difference to be honest! The stanchion diameter is the same, so the rigidity seems to be identical. They have the same air spring and damper as well. So my assessment is, if you're rocking 140 or 150 travel....I'd get the pike. But once you're looking at 160-170, I'd go lyrik....as you get longer travel, you'll probably want the beefier crown.
Great build! Would a $5K+ bike provide the same or comparable omponents as your build?
Depends tbh, bc for some components I went straight to the top. Like my fork and wheels would normally be featured on bikes that are 7-10k whereas the drivetrain is more like something off a $2.8-3.5k bike. That’s the beautiful part about building it up yourself. You can highlight the aspects that matter the most to you.
In general, though, I’d say you’d be hard pressed to find a bike at 5k this sweet. You may get a carbon frame bike at that price, but carbon frame doesn’t matter much to me.
Thanks for watching!
Wish you could realese this today so my good day could be even better since wolftick uploaded today
Appreciate that man! It’ll be out tomorrow which means you can have two pretty awesome days in a row.
@@JaredRMorgan seems good wolf dad got a belt drive ebike
@@eugene44569 I've had a few belt drive bikes...they weren't very reliable.
@@JaredRMorgan I tried a BMX belt drive bike and was told it was impossible to skip the belt. Well I skipped the belt twice just on the street and gave the bike back lol
I have this same bike I was wondering if its a good idea to change the rockshox rear suspension to a coil spring suspension.
I would watch my video about the MegNeg before you invest the money in a coil shock. Similar result for significantly less money. Good luck!
That sure did come out nice man! I'm loving mine and could easily see how dropping 7 pounds would make the bike even more insane!
Thanks man! Im blown away by the fact the bike could possibly go sub 30 if someone wanted to make it more of a down country build.
I am currently in the process of switching out my brakes. But the plugs on the frame where the hose goes in and out of the frame are super tight and can’t pull them out. Did you struggle with switching your brakes out at all?
not too much trouble, but i'm pretty experienced. I agree the grommets are a bit of a pain, but they definitely come out. Might have to try to wiggle them out carefully with needle nose pliers...make sure not to tear them or damage your hoses though.
One tip is to remove your brake components from the bike so you can drastically change the angle of the hose to assist you in getting those grommets out. good luck!
Those tires look sick
Thank you! Versus Tires has some really cool offerings when it comes to color.
@@JaredRMorgan I've just didn't even know color on the tread was an option
They’re the only brand doing it as far as I know.
Can you tell me what size of seat post clamp you used? I want to switch it out but there’s different sizes
34.9! Be prepared to fight it a bit, bc polygon doesn’t tape off the frame like most brands when painting so it’s gonna be tight.
Hi, thanks for the video helps a lot, is it possible to put a 150 mm fork, i couldn t find that info
You certainly could! I’d recommend riding it a while with the 140 before making that decision. I find the geometry of the bike to be just right.
Hey man! Lovely upgrades.. for the fork, were you able to reuse the crown race?
Thank you! I was! Just gotta be careful when removing it from the old fork.
i’m new to riding and have a giant talon 2 right now looking to upgrade soon to the polygon siskiu t7 or t8 one question what is that blue stuff on your tires?
Versus tires! They come in a blue splatter option.
Aww man you should've filmed the bike being worked on. People like myself love that stuff.
I know what you mean, but without a camera man I’m not willing to film a surgery that insane especially when it’s my personal bike. I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could and have it not be “work.”
Really nice upgrades! Thinking to put slx cranks on my T7, did they fit out of the box? And what stem caps are you running?
Thanks! And yes, they did! I’m using these valves: amzn.to/3BlBRKd
@@JaredRMorgan Thanks! I meant headset top cap
Would love to hear your thoughts on Nukeproof's Horizon V2 wheelset with high engagement hub. I have the T8 and trying to shed some rotational weight and also improve climbing efficiency with some better hubs.
I have seen the nukeproof wheelset, and I’m a fan of those. Another really nice high engagement wheel is the Bontrager Line Elite wheelset. There shockingly nice and the hubs are beautiful dark polished finish. You should scope out the posts in my community tab, as I posted on them. Those wheels are amazing for the price and get to your place in 2 days if you have Prime. Also, the link on that community post is affiliate linking so you support my channel if you decide you’re interested.
@@JaredRMorgan Sweet, I'll definitely check those out - thanks Jared!
No problem! If you still decide on nukeproof, I’m sure you’ll be satisfied. I’ve heard only good things. My only beef with products from CRC is they can take a while bc they’re overseas. Boxes from them can get tied up in customs and stuff like that.
@@JaredRMorgan Yeah, that makes total sense. I will take a hard look at those Bontrager wheels you mentioned, and if I go with them I'll make sure to use your affiliate link :)
Hi . Currently I’m riding a Polygon T7 M size 29er. I seen your video. As the current stock fork is 140mm travel, I would like to upgrade it to a 160mm travel fork to make it more Enduro oriented. Is it advisable to do it? I would like to try it because I don’t want to spend more cash to buy a Polygon N9. Please advise. Thank you.
I would not recommend that at all. 1. Geometry will be impacted negatively. 2. It will increase stress on welds. 3. I believe you can get a 140 fork to be supportive enough to handle most anything. Rather than adding travel, consider a higher end 140 fork where you can modify the characteristics of the mid stroke and the bottom out progression.
Where did you get the stem im trying to match the same color from the front of the bike
It was an ANVL stem I believe.
Hey , quick question, with cranks are the Shimano range likes of the slx and deore all compatible with this frame, I have a t7 and was thinking on upgrading crankset 👍cheers
That’s correct! They all work together. The SLX cranks just shed a half a pound from the factory spec. 👍
I have the option of buying the Giant Stance 29 2 (2021), and the Polygon Siskiu T7. The Giant is at my local shop so I can personally see it, find the perfect size, and it is cheaper. I found the Polygon online but I obviously can't find the perfect size. I will just use my height. The giant is $150 cheaper and is 4 pounds lighter. I was told by a few people that overall the polygon is a better bike (not using price just material and build). Both are pretty much the same overall. I really cannot choose which one I should get.
The stance still uses a wack quick release rear end…that alone rules it out for me. You can’t build it up like you can a T7.
The T7 may be heavier out the box, but it’s not hard to shed those 4lbs I promise you. Follow the sizing calculator on bikes online and you’ll be good to go!! All sizes are in stock, and make sure to use my link to support the channel. Cheers!
@@JaredRMorgan Thank you for the advise. In return I will subscribe. 👍
@@JaredRMorgan thanks
@@JaredRMorgan In your opinion what should be the easiest way to shave a few pounds off? Also which should be the one upgrade I should do with a small budget? Thanks!
Hi Cc, what the weight for the original wheelset? I'm just super curious what the total weight saving
I got 1130g front and 1455g rear. No cassette or rotors, just the center lock ring.
Hey dude do you have any idea if the T7 compatible with upgrading to a rear coil shock?
yeah you can totally run a coil! Just make sure you find one thats a 210mm eye to eye and a 55mm stroke. You'll be good to go!
Hi dear
I'd like to know the weight of the 2 wheels without tires ?
and about tires witch model was mounted on your bike ?
What is your opinion about tektro's orion brakes ? The rotor ?
I will probably buy this bike next month and I'm thinking to change wheeels for DT SWISS M1900 30mm
And disc brakes for SHIMANO DEORE or MT520 and rotor Shim RT70
I'm sorry for my English language I am French and my English is not very strong.
I no longer have the stock wheels to give you a weight without tires, unfortunately.
My bike came with the Vee Tire Flow Snaps and I switched to Versus Tires.
The brakes and rotors are adequate out of the box. I only switched to Magura because I had them laying around.
As for those upgrades you’ve picked for both the wheels and brakes those are really nice choices and both would be an upgrade from what comes on the bike.
@@JaredRMorgan Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Mountain bikes are not very expensive in your country, beacause in france, SISKIU T7 cost 2049€ (= $2320US) but it is including all taxes.
I don't know what is VERSUS Tires, probably not sell in France. Anyway I prefer MAXXIS Tire's. I will probably take MAXXIS Dissector front and rear.
An for the brakes what is your opinion about MAGURA MT5 ?
Ride fast, and fun !
Nice vid. Quick question on the Pike upgrade. You linked a 140mm 51mm offset Pike, and I've also found a Pike on Amazon with 150mm travel / 42mm offset. The RS Recon that came with my T7 has an offset of 42mm. Am I better off getting the Pike with 10mm more travel (150) with matching offset to the stock T7 (42mm) or should I buy the one you linked at 140mm/51mm offset? I think I can reduce the travel from 150 to 140, but I cannot change the offset to match the T7's stock 42mm fork. Appreciate any info.
That’s a great question. Personally, I kept the 140 travel bc I thought the headtube angle was ideal, and wasn’t certain how making the bike more slack would pan out in the climbs as it would also slacken the seattube angle.
As for offset, technically it is favorable to keep the same offset so as to maintain the geometry the designers had in mind, but I also know many bike “experts” who say you won’t feel a lick of difference between 42 and 51.
An air spring swap could also bring the 150 with 42 offset down to 140. That would be the most ideal setup, but that will cost more and also take some work.
If you do decide to do the 150 with 42 route, here is the link for that one so you can still support my channel: amzn.to/3z75ldA
Appreciate you stopping by!
@@JaredRMorgan Thanks for the info! Would you consider it worth it to upgrade from the Recon to a Pike ultimate on this bike? A lot of people online seem to say 'just buy a better bike instead of upgrading', but I've noticed other bike brands sell new $3500 bikes that STILL have a Recon. Is it worth it to spend $900 fora fork on a $2000 bike? Seems like the T7 has a nice and modern frame and it is worth it to upgrade.
The recon to the pike ultimate is night and day!!! I consider forks and wheels to be forever mods that you can bring from bike to bike. It’s absolutely worth it in the sense that if and when you do get another bike that again has a recon, you can replace it with a legit fork.
The recon is heavy and divey in comparison to the high end forks. You’ll shed weight, get more support, and still have a plush experience.
The T7 is definitely worthy of the upgrade, and that’s why I did it. The fork swap brought it into a whole different dimension.
Whats the water bottle? I’ve seen similar ones but can’t find them online

Hello. I have a decision to make, perhaps you could assist:
I need to choose one of these 2 options as my next MTB:
Option 1: used canyon lux (2016 model carbon fiber, sram xx1, 11x1) condition "ok".
Option 2: New Polygon T7.
Both options are at the same price.
The reason that I'm considering the polygon is that I am worried that the 6 year old xx1 might get too old, and to fix it would cost a fortune.
Can anyone please give me some tips what should I do?
I ride mostly XC.
I will appreciate your input very much!

Mostly wheels/tires and fork is correct! Other decent weight pulls happened at bigger bits like cassette and cranks.
and frame, its a porker
So I’m other words jst buy a 5-7k bike the first time got it! 😉
Haha well it’s a little different in my case. Fortunately I didn’t have to pay for the bike or some of the parts I used.

😂 is that my nickname now?
@@JaredRMorgan lol! I think so! It has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
Sad to see all these bots destroying projects.
Yeah I’m getting blown up here! Lol.
I feel like those upgrades are way over the top and unnecessary the pike especially
Unfortunately, channels doing ordinary things don’t succeed on UA-cam. You have to understand these builds aren’t just a hobby for me like most people. This is my job. I gotta build the unnecessary.
@@JaredRMorgan Yeah true. and to be fair it was cool seeing you take that much weight off the bike.
awesome video bro Liked. But only Idiots will spend 2k for a bike and 3+k for upgrades its same as U buy a civic and trying to make corvette from it )
Not quite, but I understand why you'd think that. Thanks for watching!
4:52 you look a lot bigger than I imagined lmao. Not trying to be mean in anyway just pointing that out.
Yeah I’m 6 foot.
All this $$ would have bought a decent bike - a fun video but what a waste of money on such an average frame - You spent IBIS Ripley money for this
What you don’t realize is bikesonline sent me the bike for free, and my other sponsors sent me the parts I put on free or discounted. Ibis ripley? Would’ve had to buy it at retail. Now, what would you have done if you were in my shoes? Lol.
@@JaredRMorgan lol, id have bought the ibis ripley, such a superior bike, its night and day. The sisku T7 is for my 13 year old, lol. A great bike for him.
You should check Secura Finance, i think its a great project with fair rules for everyone on the market. No bots & No Whales are welcome.
