Thanks for this review. Most all of the other reviews I have seen simply show how they put it together and what the specs are but almost no riding reviews. To me the value is how it performs on the trail, which is what you showed really well. Cheers.
Thanks for the kind words! That's why I broke up my review into two parts. I did do the whole unboxing and what to expect thing, and then followed up with real trail impressions of how it behaves. Also, thanks for watching!
Thank you for another great video.
After converting my size M, 29" wheels T7's Schwalbe Hans Dampf tires to tubeless, its weight dropped to 16.4kg. Deleting the tubes saved 1.5kg.
I agree about the grips and saddle. I bought Fifty-Fifty grips, but returned them. The saddle is far more comfortable than the Bontrager on my nephew's Trek Roscoe 7.
So far, I am totally pleased with my T7.
I feel the same way! They did a great job on the contact points, and had I also gotten the schwalbe tires it’s likely I would have 0 gripes on the bike as it came. Thanks for watching!
do you like the 29 wheels? i’m still stuck on deciding between 27.5 and 29
@@rishdafish8560, I like the 29" wheels, but do not have enough experience with either size to truly know how much difference the 29ers make.
Love the live ride review/commentary. Extremely useful.
Very well done!
I really appreciate that!
Thank thank you. I bike review in my home state. Been looking at the D7 rather than the T7, but your review provided much food for thought. Thanks again.
Not a problem at all! Glad you enjoyed it. If the extra $$$ is no issue, I'd highly recommend the T7 over the D7. I believe as you grow in your skills, it will stick with you longer.
Just ordered a T7. Great review and am now looking forward even more to getting the bike.
Stoked for you! Gonna be an epic day!
So how was it?
Loved the review. I have the siskiu d7 and love it. My next purchase is the t7 once bikesonline has the large frame in stock. Oh, I got the disk rotors in the mail today that I ordered off you on ebay. Thank you so much that was super crazy fast shipping. I'll put those rotors to good use on my d7. Thanks again. 👍
Hey man! So glad the box made it your way safely! When it’s T7 time, please make sure to shop from my link as it really helps me look good with my friends at bikes online. Thanks for your support!
Sweet bike! Looking forward to seeing the upgrades you make!
You’ll see the first video on it on Wednesday! 🙌
Just subscribed. I have a D5 and I absolutely love it. I really liked the videos you did about it. I'm looking forward to seeing how you upgrade the T7.
First off thanks for the sub!! The D5 was a great bike, and I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm editing the mod video right now, and I'm so excited to share it with you all.
You look super confident on this bike man!! Another great video.
Thanks dude! I appreciate you stopping in to watch and support as always.
Very much looking forward to this!
Hope you enjoy it!
Just ordered mine im so stoked.
Congrats Aaron! Stoked for you! 🙌
i'm getting this bike and this video made me so even more excited.
Stoked for you! Hope you love it!
Nice video! Sounds like you are getting your fitness up there too! Your on bike commentary is more fluid and you’re not as winded! Great Job! Polygon keeps coming up as a great budget contender, I’m gonna have to try one out sometime! Maybe I’ll find one at Sea Otter, have you ever thought about going?
Yeah man it’s taken a while, but the cardiovascular endurance is much improved. Thanks for noticing! Hopefully you get a chance to ride one, and I’ve never been but I’d love to! Haha.
Looking forward to your modification build video! Excited to see future videos on the T7.
Thanks so much man! You really showed out with the support today. That was awesome!
@@JaredRMorgan it’s well deserved buddy!
Too kind too kind! 🤜🤛
Great video!!! Trails look great!!!
They definitely were! Thanks for watching!
I've ridden mine once, due to a full shoulder recon, the whole package is awesome
Yeah it’s a great bike! Thanks for coming by, and I hope that shoulder fix holds strong.
Just orderd it. Upgrading from a budjet hard tail.
So excited to have this bike! Changed my seat, grips and added some mud fenders, good to go. Only thing is I'm not sure what to do with the forks/shock at my 235 lbs weight...
I'm glad you're loving it! I'll give you my answer for that question next week, as a fork upgrade was a big priority for me. I'm not the lightest guy either so I'm confident my selection would be bomb for your build as well.
My opinion, Lyrik, I'm 225, run 100psi (+/-), 3 tokens. Never bottom out, but feels good
I've had mine for a few months. It can take an absolute beating. Ride in the Adirondacks, tons of roots and rock. I swapped out my fork to a 150mm Lyrik, xt cranks, spank seat, stem, and grips,RF bars and went tubeless with mynesweepers. Also added the megneg. Bike is a large and tips the scales at 35lbs. New wheels are on the way and should drop the weight even more. This bike doesn't feel heavy when riding. It is very nimble and you feel like you ride "in" it, not "on" it. I would recommend it. Yes I've spent a lot upgrading, but I like to upgrade regardless. Most of what I changed is because I am a heavier NFL type, and want a bulletproof bike, so far it has been awesome.
That sounds awesome! Tell me about your megneg, bc that’s the only upgrade I’d do to the rear shock if any. What improvements did you notice?
@@JaredRMorgan It is supposed to allow for more sensitivity but provide mid support. I didn't notice a difference because I'm heavier and the siskiu is already quite progressive. For $90 I thought it was worth a try.
How's the lyrik compared to the recon? Is it better for big jumps, or what's the most considerable difference?
@@whoiswer I never rode the recon so i don't know. I'm a bigger guy so I wanted a fork known to be stiff and had the ability to add tokens.
@@Eph610-20 I see, okay thx
Mt zion is for sure my favorite trail within any reasonable drive from south Louisiana. Great spot to test a new bike!
I'll probably email you soon about my people in Brevard that I mentioned in a previous comment. Once I get some more info about their exact location in relation to pisgah I'll be sure to let you know. Just jumped on your patreon thanks for all the great content dude keep it up!
First and foremost man thanks so much for doing that! If you can believe it, the Patreon support does more for me and my family than the UA-cam channel at the moment, so I put a lot of effort into it. I hope you enjoy it!
As for Zion, yes I agree it’s so well rounded and fun. A little bit of everything.
As for the NC crew, I appreciate you feeling that out for me. Just let me know!

Polygon is making some big sales in Australia for good reason....
Glad that good value for money bikes are still available.
A Polygon will probably be my next bike, l like how the rear suspension is setup it reminds me of the old Yamaha motorcycles...
Same sales are taking place in the states. It’s pretty legit! I got a video coming out today on my new D6 I got from them. Sick bike for the money.
@@JaredRMorgan
The 2022 Siskiu D6 is on sale in Australia for $1600 AU and it is a well equipped well built bargain.
I will be getting a hardtail with a view to rides at MTB parks and around home.
I'm up here riding my T7 in Oxford. It's an unbelievable bike for the money. Snapped my derailleur in half on my 4th ride though. No fault of the derailleur lol. Also, mine came with Scwalbe tires. But I did get the 27.5.
I agree it’s so solid for the dollar. Sorry to hear about your derailleur. Did you decide to upgrade it??
@@JaredRMorgan no. I don't wanna have to buy a $150 derailleur next time I break one. And I break a derailleur every year lol.
Makes perfect sense. Haha!
Great polished and thorough review! I just did one on my T7 and I'm terrible at this. I ride way better than I make videos! haha ;-) LOL Nice job, some of your critique is consistent with what I also thought about the bike.
Thanks for the support. It wasn't always this "polished" I've just been constantly trying to better my videos over the last year or so. Glad to hear your feelings on your T7 were similar, because I was pleased with my bike.
I got my first MTB 1 month ago ( Polygon Cascade 4- Hardtail ) After my first ride on the trails I was hooked!!
and after the 2nd week of riding I was already looking at purchasing my first Dual Suspension bike.
After a tonne of research I've decided I want to get a Siskiu T7.... BUT I've made a promise to myself first...
I can't purchase the T7 until I learn how to:
- Bunny Hop 1-2 ft consistently
- Hit small-medium jumps & drops with confidence
- Wheelie 100 meters
- Graduate my Diploma
So far I've got a 1 centimetre bunny hop & a 5 meter scuffed wheelie & theirs a 50% chance I get bucked when hitting a small jump!
Those are all great goals! But it may be fair to treat yourself to the bike you want and see yourself riding the most as your skills will probably have to be relearned a bit when making the transition from hardtail to full suspension anyway.
I think it’s best to just learn on the bike you see yourself riding. Cheers to being hooked to the sport!
@@JaredRMorgan Excellent point! I am hoping the transition isn't too steep of a learning curve. Love your channel dude keep up the great content! subbed
If I'm honest you should wait and get better instead of jumping on the idea
Looking at a T8 myself. Little bit more but weight is lower with the slightly upgraded components, and i like the colors a bit more 😊. Have a roscoe 8 hard tail atm. Love it too.
Both models of Siskiu T are great, and if your budget allows there is certainly more value in the T8. If you're down to support my channel you can still purchase the T8 through my link to Bikes Online. It really helps my channel out. I'll be here if you have any questions about your bike while you own it. Take care, and thanks for watching!
@@JaredRMorgan for sure. Might not be right away, but I’ll definitely do it when the time comes!

Nice ride at Zion. Love that place, last time I was there was for the 12 hours of mt Zion enduro race. When is the giveaway of the light. Just wondering.
It’s a great trail, and I’m sorry I missed that event! The giveaway for the light set already rolled through, and the winner was announced on the video itself in the comment section.
Great Review. Bike looks great for the price.
It really is. I don’t know another bike I’d recommend sub 2k that’s a full suspension other than this one
Thanks for watching!
What you have is a 2021 model. T7/T8/N9 are being refreshed every January. Whereas D6/D7/xtrada are being updated every august/oct as next years model.
The Siskiu T7 is identical for 2021 and 2022. Supply chain disruptions caused them to remain the same. You can check the website and see they’re being sold as 2022’s. Not only do I receive my bikes from bikes online, but as a brand ambassador I am also kept up to date on model release news long before the general public, and I can assure you this is a 2022. Cheers!
@@JaredRMorgan nice to hear if thats the case coz Im eyeing for this bike. Cheers!
Love my T7 but I'm still learning too. It's my 1st modern DS 29r. What was the clacking sound on the drops/jumps? Maybe clutch wasn't engaged?
I have to disagree about the grips. Changed my grips, seat and peddles after about 6 months and it made a world of difference for me!
No I'm very particular about having the clutch engaged. It probably needed a tension adjustment. As for the contact points, it's all a matter of preference. Glad you're enjoying your bike!
Thanks for the video, I've been debating on which one to get the D7 or T7.
They’re both really good bikes! Have both of them here. If you’re interested in jumps and drops I’d lean towards the T. The D is a cross country bike that has some capability for big features, but it’s not its main focus if that makes sense!
If you like what you saw, you can shop my link to polygon in the description and it supports this channel at no additional cost to you. Cheers!
great video. what pedals were you talking about
Thank you! So my T7 came with pedals from the factory, and for whatever reason they sent me two left pedals. On this ride, I was using my ANVL pedals.
Thanks for another video, just curious, is the bike overly bright when in person and riding ? As I’m slightly unsure about the green yellow or is it more towards green ? Thank you
Thanks for watching! It’s more yellow to my eye. But I don’t find the bike to be obnoxious. It’s a nice colorway.
0:24 i thought that was one of your hairs on your neck but then I realized that it was a microphone. also wolftick jut hit 10 thousand subscribers
That’s awesome! Happy for him!
All I've really rods is carreras so is this going to be good for my first trial bike
Oh yeah it’ll be a nice one!
I had good luck with the Recon. Only complaint is the Recon is super heavy.
It is very heavy! I’m so stoked with my new fork. 🙏
I might have missed it, but did you mention your inseam? Feels like the Bikes Online size guide is recommending me bigger than other brands (I know geometry may be different, but the stack and reach are a lot more on the Siskiu recommended for me)
My inseam is 32"...I'm 6' rocking a size L.
I've been having trouble trying to decide what bike to get. The d7 or t7. My trails here are in the desert with lots of rocks, but sometimes smooth. I don't go off many jumps it's a bunch of cross country type trails in my area. I want a great climber too. Which one would be better?
So personally, I'd probably still choose the T7 for its mountain goat climbing capability and its willingness to gulp down chunky rock sections. I was recently riding some very rocky terrain, and I can tell you I was super thankful to have 140mm front travel on my 29er T7....I was using it all up!
Hope this helps! If you do decide to grab a bike for yourself, please consider shopping through my link as it helps make sure I can review more polygon products for you guys to enhjoy! Cheers!
I have had my T 7 for 6 weeks now and I can tell you where the weight is: The tires and tubes. Those Flow Snap tires weigh 2.8 pounds each plus the tubes.
My T7 is now tubeless using the Flow Snap tires and the weight is 35.5 pounds. My T7 is size Medium 29ers
You're totally right. I've already done a bunch of work to this bike since getting it, and I'm utterly shocked at its weight today.
Yes I heard the Vee Snaps are almost 1 pound heavier than the Schwalbe tires. Glad my T7 came with the Schwalbs
I get my T7 this week and did 2 rides. After this 2 rides I decided change the 2.6 tires for a 2.3 dhf/dhr tires. I think it’s gonna be better
Mine came with schwalbe tires and to me it's a slow roller as well ..didn't know the weight until watching and reading these comments...I will try to reduce the weight following the tips here lol
@@KyleFonrose The Schwalbe tires weigh one pound less each, than the Vee Flow Snap tires. Therefore, your T7 should weigh exactly two pounds less than mine. Mine is 35.5 and yours should weigh 33.5 pounds. Assuming you are running tubeless as am I.
Besides the tires, was there anything out of the box that you immediately wanted to upgrade?
Honestly no! Everything was quite adequate out of the box. It could stay just like that for a year or more. If you’re lucky enough to get the schwalbe tires, the bike would be a perfect little package.
Love my polygon they are very underrated bikes, I ended up with a D5 however my next bike will be a T7.
I fully agree with your assessment! Even I underestimated how capable this particular bike is. I'm so happy with it! The D5 is also a really awesome bike.
Hopefully when you're ready to scoop your T7 up, you'll stop by this video and shop from my link as it helps fund the channel at no extra cost to you. Stay rad!
@@JaredRMorgan absolutely man I am subscribed and followed everything on the D5 build… I will also spread the word of your channel. I am out of Colorado and the mtb community is huge. I also want to spread the word for polygon bikes!
Hello from Australia!
I've recently gotten into the Sport of MTB! Bought my first ever bike last week (Polygon Cascade 4) Hardtail.
Been hitting the trails & slowly progressing every single day!
It's only been 1 week & I'm already looking for my next bike LOL
Siskiu T7 is looking great so far

@@tremolony4924 you can’t go Wrong with the D5 or the T7 it just comes down to how big your budget is… I’ve ridden both bikes and they are amazing for the money. Cheers my friend 🇺🇸
I kinda want the T8 but idk when they'll be back in stock..this bike looks decent though. This would be my first full squish.
It’s an excellent choice for a first full squish. I’ve ridden some bikes that were more pricey and didn’t perform as well.
im legit in the same boat. want the T8 but im getting impatient
Just bought a T7 a few days ago, they all in stock minus the 29er Large frame is OOS but the rest are still in stock.
question. Polygon Siskiu n9 vs vitus sommet? Any comments. I live in USA and couldn't fine a reseler for Vitus.
I used to drive a Blur 15 years ago and trying to get back after 15 years of no riding.
I would go Siskiu N9, but I encourage you to wait a few months. 🤫😁
As for Vitus I follow a lot of Facebook groups for brands and people break Vitus frames pretty often.
JUSDT SUBSCRIBED BRO
That means a lot! Thanks so much for the support!
Did you add spacers to dial in the suspension or did you just adjust to recommended sag?
It’s adjusted for sag and that’s it. Rockshox recon doesn’t have the ability to add spacers.
Hi! Hope you can help me. I’m used to ride 27.5. And small size frame. I’m 1.68 m . Anyways I could only find medium size T7 bikes, but I have the chance on going 27.5 or 29. Should I stick with the 27.5 ? Also the dropper length it’s at it fullest is too long for me. I’m coming from a very light Scott spark with 120mm fork and 110 mm shock I think. Thanks!
Too be honest I’d take the 29, bc that’s the future of the MTB industry and they hold momentum better. If your dropper is too long, you may just have to get a shorter one to make things work for you.
@@JaredRMorgan thanks!
I was going to do my build on a hard tail but it seems like FedEx lost most of my package. Hopefully I get a refund back since nothing was delivered and maybe I should just go for a T7.
That’s a good way to make lemonade from a lemon of a situation. Hope it works out for you!
I have been looking for a dual suspension bike to use on downhill mountain, which bike would you recommend on a $2000 range?
You’re looking at it, fella. This is your bang for the buck option for sure. It’s a beast.
Do you recall if you had any mystery creaking on this bike?
occasionally this will happen from a seat post if its dirty, but on this bike I did have to dive into the pivots at one point. which is normal!
You've got me hooked watching all of the D7 and D6 bike videos. In your opinion, is it better to go with the D6 or D7?
I love 10sp and don't need the 51t gear, so my question mainly is about suspension value. Go with the D6 and use the Suntour Fork upgrade program OR pay the extra $300 and keep the Recon. Thanks again for the good videos
Thanks so much and I’m stoked you like the content. So when it comes to D6 or D7, I’d be replacing the fork and wheels anyway down the line so I think the D6 poses the best value…especially if you can catch a sale. At one point they had them for like $1199!
@@JaredRMorgan Right now it's $899 for D6 and $1199 for D7!!
@@JaredRMorgan For the record, I skipped the D6 and D7 and ordered a T7 (with Hans) through your link!
@@JaredRMorganYour videos are one of the reasons i bought my T7 last year. After 1 season of riding i am starting to upgrade small items (seat, handlebars, grips, tubeless). I found a Bomber Z1 for a good deal BUT its only 51mm offset, compared to the stock Recon = 42mm offset.
Slow speed turns are common at the trails near me and this fork seems to be sluggish while navigating the turn.
Now to my question...why should i or should i not upgrade my fork to the 51mm offset Bomber Z1?
Hey what tires u recommend we upgrade to if we got the v flows?
I’m running Maxxis. Loving them! DHF/DHR is my combo, but there are a ton of nice combos.
Great review. I have owned a T7 XL since April 2021 and have had few solid months on it in the mud, heat, dry and ...well I guess I'll see snow/ice soon enough :) . Mine came stock with Hanz Dampf tires but I tend to like almost anything I run in my New England dirt. We have sand, rocks, loam and everything besides clay. If you're losing grip in this corner just wait until the next corner 50 yards away. It can change that fast. To date there have been no issues with the parts, suspension or build. The only thing I have changed is I replaced the grips (Aqua-- hey it's a looks thing), added a bottle cage and replaced the stem that stretches me out a bit. I'm 6'1 with long arms and needed a bit more reach. Personal preference thing as I get used to the geometries in today's bikes. Overall I will give the Polygon 10 out of 10 stars. 5 out of 5 Hot Peppers or whatever I need to show that I like it. And for a comparison thing; over the years I have owned middle of the line bikes with basic components. Specialized, Cannondale, Kona, Diamond Back and KHS. All great bikes but nothing above $2200. It's kind of like I'm doing a budget bike shootout over 30 plus years of riding and racing. :)
Thanks so much for sharing your in depth thoughts and findings of the bike! Stoked you’re enjoying it as much as I’m enjoying mine. Cheers! 🍻
What bottle size did you attach? I have the T7 and it's a small space for the bottle next to the cable inlet in the frame.
I’m running a fid lock because of the tight space. It works perfect! I did a video on bike gear that I use, and I left a link to it in the description if you want the specific model.
@@JaredRMorgan Thanks! I greased the front fork bearings yesterday as per your first T7 vid; it's great to go on a trail with someone who knows the way.
I’m in Australia and I’ve just ordered one of these. They come with WTB Trail Boss tyres down here. What’s your opinion on them?
Trail boss isn’t bad! If they’re tubeless ready, I say run them!
@@JaredRMorgan sweet thanks mate
I actually just ordered this bike. I'm wanting to pick up some race face Chester pedals to go with it. What color do you think would match the bike?
Oh wow congrats! You’re going to love it. That’s an easy one, the turquoise color would be the way to go! Even better if you can get the grips too.
@@JaredRMorgan turquoise is exactly what I was thinking too thanks. Ya I'm stoked. I've been riding an entry level hardtail for 7.5 years so this is going to be aajor leap up for me. Sadly the bike isn't supposed to he back in stocks until Sept. 13th and then it will take 10 days to ship so I've still got roughly 3.5 weeks of waiting
Should i buy the T8 instead for a bit more money? I have the money but is it worth it? Also what are the upgrades the T8 has on the t7?
If the extra is no problem financially I’d say go for it. You get SLX drivetrain which is a step up from deore. You get a 4 piston brake in back instead of a 2 on the T7. You get a fox 34 fork which is better than the Rockshox Recon. Those are the biggest improvements. However, the T7 is still mad capable if that’s a more comfortable budget. Both bikes can purchased via the link in my description if you feel inclined to help my channel. In return, I’ll always be here to answer your questions. Cheers!
What is the true standover height for this bike? Polygon's website seems to measure it incorrectly at where the seat tube meets the top bar and thus the number seems really low. I don't think it's accurate so I'm wondering what it truly is.
On my size L it’s around 27.5 inches. That’s from the floor to the junction of the toptube and seattube.
@@JaredRMorgan Thanks. Could you measure also at about the mid point of the top tube to the ground? I think that's more accurate for where someone would stand over the bike.
What sag % did you run on your fork and shock?
20% front 30% rear!
What's the issue with the tires ? I keep hearing no one like the vee tires
So grippy they feel slow, they’re pretty heavy, and they can be difficult to setup tubeless.
What size did you get, and how tall are you? Great video!
Thanks so much! I am 6 foot with a 32 inseam. I got a Large.
Curious, do you think the T8 is worth the extra money over the T7? Fox fork, Fox shock, and SLX drivetrain?
Thanks!
It’s a toss up. I’d let availability decide. The money you save on the T7 you could spend on a nice fork and they’d be very close competitors. I actually like the T7 rear shock better. As well as the color. But the easy answer is yeah the T8 is worth it’s price.
@@JaredRMorgan just curious, why do you like the rear shock of t7 vs t8?
i just got my t7. i only ride it once say yesterday 😄. The bike feels awesome. i know less on bike parts or upgrade and the likes but i want to ask this question about the t7 bro. is the t7 rims or tires tubeless or is it not (but it says tubeless ready). i got my t7 with swalbe tires by the way.
They’re tubeless ready! You just need valves and sealant.
@@JaredRMorgan thanks bro
@@JaredRMorgan sorry for the spelling “schwalbe”
I am not sure about getting T7 or T8. I would want to get T7 because it is cheaper but T8 has a little bit better specs. Which would you choose if you could choose T7 or T8?
This is a good question and there's layers to it. I believe the T7 is better priced, better rear shock, and better color. T8 has better fork, and marginally (NOT MUCH) better drivetrain and brakes. For me, I'd probably do the T7 and once I felt up to it, spend the money saved for a better front fork. That's just my 2 cents. Can't go wrong either way!!
If you do decide to purchase either bike, it would be amazing if you could use the link in my description as it helps fund my channel. In return, I'll always be here to answer your Polygon related questions. Take Care!!
@@JaredRMorgan Thanks! Ordering T7 now. I will be using your link!
What upgrades would be good for this bike
I did an entire video after this one where I poured upgrades into it. Now obviously I went over the top with it, but it’s a good video for reference and inspiration when building yours. A fork is probably the best single upgrade you can do to a T7.
What's the difference between the 2021 & 2022 T7?
No difference! Same bike.
the color on the t7 looks like the teal green color on the marlin 5 2022
You have a good eye! I thought the same thing. Very similar!
How you doing brother what's the difference between the T model siskui and Vander t model
The vander was a model they only made during the pandemic to supply the market that was desperate for bikes. I don't believe those will be making a comeback while the Siskiu is Polygon's quintessential trail bike that has been around for a long time. Hope this makes sense! Have a good one!
@@JaredRMorgan thank you I was asking because the site was selling a demo floor sample Vander very cheap. I was wondering if it was the same quality as the siskui
Can you run 2.4 tires on those rims? I believe they are 35mm id rims.
Definitely can.
@@JaredRMorgan thanks! That may be a good option to drop some weight

@@JaredRMorgan i hope so man, I'm a little worried about that rockshox front and rear bottoming out and the overallweight of it. Gonna try your upgrades over time though.
Is the T8 worth the upgrade over the T7? Or the T7 is already good enough?
It really depends where you are as a rider. They’re both really good values for their price point. I was more than happy with how my T7 performed out of the box, and with a few supporting mods it can ride alongside a T8’s performance no problem.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, you can’t go wrong with either.
My medium 29er is almost 35lbs after upgrades
Dropped a decent amount! That puts it in a good realm for being a manageable bike IMO.
Hey man is there a big difference between the polygon d7 and the polygon t7 beacuse im planning to buy a bike that can be my future trail bike in the future
There is a big difference. The T7 is a significantly better value these days if you ask me. It will be heavier though, so if you’re really into lighter bikes go D7.
So is it ok if i upgrade in a much higher rear shock and fork in the future
@@joshfetil6059 you can't change the rear travel on your bike without severely messing up the geometry. For the fork its possible to increase by 10 millimeters (or even 20 but that's a little risky) if you want more travel, you should probably start off with more travel
Did you have problems when you unboxed it or was it fine
Mine had no real issues. I did an unboxing video that kinda brushed over the little things I found.
Are you aware where to get parts for the pivots? Thats my only concern with ordering unridden and no shop to drop into? Are they standard parts? I am a heavy rider so I expect they may get worn a little faster and I tend to keep my bikes for a long time. Still riding a hard tail from last century with v brakes!
Don't know how I missed it but I see all the parts available on their site. I was fortunate to have a ride on a friends D7. Very nice to ride but noticed both knees or back of knee was aching after a small ride. Not sure if that was just his setup was a little long for me but that was my only worry. I think I might have a look at what else is around and pull the trigger as I have been looking for far too long.Maybe see how much I get back in tax this year 🙂
Glad you found the info! And yeah if you look at my newer stuff you can see what bikes I’m riding. May help you decide what bike you want next. Cheers!
@@JaredRMorgan will do thanks. Sometimes it's tricky in Australia to get the bikes to test ride.
Does it come stock tubeless
Pretty much! Tubeless ready. Just add stems and sealant.
My bike is going to come with the Schwalbe tires i think
This is me hoping you get lucky!
@@JaredRMorgan YOOO i got lucky just got bike today and it came with the schwalbe tires and I made them tubeless
I got lucky 🙏🏼🙌🏼
GOD I want this bike. If not the D7. I'm riding an x-caliber 8 at the moment and I feel like it can't handle the trails I do and can't handle any jumps at all, hence the derailleur hangers and tyre tubes I've broken. And I don't even go that fast and I don't do big jumps. I rarely crash as well. I'm just unsure if I wanna spend this much money.
I totally understand how you feel with committing to this much of an expenditure. What I can tell you is, you’ll be blown away by how much more capable this is in comparison to an X-cal. Not only are the components better but the geometry is much more confidence inspiring for the features and descents you take on. Plus, you can rest assured there is no better bike that’s in this same price point. I’m still baffled by how they can keep this bike sub $2000. It’s one of those things where you’ll hate to spend the money but be stoked you did after the fact.
@@JaredRMorgan That definitely helps a lot, thank you! Makes me feel much better as I was unsure whether the bike would actually help me feel more confident.
So cure cycling do you recommend that as a beginner dual sus
If it's in your budget, it would be a great first dual suspension. You can run it as is for a very long time! It's very very capable.
If you decide to get one, please remember to use my special link in the description to help my channel. Take care!
Well 1 weight 2 I'm still saving so idk
Does this one have the problem with the chain dropping to another gear cog when back-pedaling?
mine doesn't have that issue at all.
A lot of high end bikes have this problems, I've even seen it on some sram drivetrains. I think for this one it's caused due to polygon stocking it with a KMC chain which is technically not compatible... If you change the chain to a Shimano chain that is compatible with the group set I've heard that it fixes a lot of those issues
@@JaredRMorgan That's good to know. Does yours still have the KMC chain? I wonder if they've adjusted the chainline setup for the 2022 model slightly. By the way, how does this compare to the Orbeo Occam H30 that you reviewed - any opinion on pros & cons between them? Thanks :)
@@anishg777 I've heard that it improves it but doesn't necessarily fix it - but maybe it varies from individual bike to bike. (Although I've heard that changing the chain also helps with the smoothness of the shifting, so probably worth doing anyway for anyone that has that bike.)
@@mark.h yeah that might not fix it but it's definitely gonna be better for your drivetrain in the long run If you use a compatible chain. My friend has a 7k yeti bike and it still has that problem with pedaling backwards (sram x01)...sometimes it's just not fixable.
Do you think this could hit 2m gap jumps?
Easy! That’s a definite.
Where to buy the resin pads for tektro orion brakes ? 4 and 2 pistons
That’s a good question. I can see if I can find them.
2 piston: amzn.to/3h6BZ92
And according to my research you can use shimano 4 pot brake pads on the tektro 4 pot: amzn.to/3BMhh66
Does it have lock on grips?
yep! They're lock-ons and they're surprisingly nice!
Thanks is it worth to upgrade to T8? Thx
Absolutely! The bike is well worth upgrading. The frame itself is a tank and can handle a real beating.
@@JaredRMorgan Thank you. Can I have one more question? I am a little concerned with weight of this bike. Does it really make difference in climbing with this extra weight? I am just a beginner. Thanks
Anybody have a idea for the t7 is better going smaller or bigger I bike a medium size right but according to bikes online website I should be a large frame size anybody have a idea.
What’s your height and inseam? I can try to ballpark you what I think.
@@JaredRMorgan 5”9 inseam is 30
That T7 is petty! Looks like that bike is gonna bring you some fun. I'm pretty sure you'll shave a ton of weight off it.
Dude I can’t wait. It’s hitting some fun spots in NC very soon so we will see how it fares. I have faith it will do quite well. Thanks for stopping in to support!
@@JaredRMorgan That bike will tear it up out there. Hit up Kanuga if you can. The place is amazing.
Kanuga is the main priority! Second is pisgah. I love the curated machine cut stuff lol.
How does this bike compare to Giant Stance 29?
It crushes it. Giant hasn’t done much to stay relevant in MTB in my opinion.
@@JaredRMorganI'm considering getting this bike. How would this bike handle rooty and rocky singletrack compared to an aggressive hardtail with a 140 mm Rockshox RL front fork?
It has a dropper seat , right?
It sure does!
Also curious about some good forks for it, upgraded tires, handlebar and grips first thing and at some point maybe change the fork, although to be honest the recon is doing pretty good job in some small jumps I built.. not sure why nobody is loving it :) but eventually for some big jumps or drops maybe smth better would be nice. Maybe a marz Z2, or a pike or smth? Looking forward to what you and others will chose.
Yeah the recons now are much better than I remember, and I didn't really despise mine. I just knew it could be better in terms of small bump compliance as well as progression. Tomorrow I'll be releasing a trailer of how I built out my T7, and this should answer all of your questions. If not, just comment!
@@JaredRMorgan great, looking forward to see what you picked :) The only comparison I have is my bomber on my DJ bike which is 100 mm. and super stiff, so the t7 looks like a downhill bike to me lol
Oh yeah it’s quite the departure from a DJ bike. Lol. The geometry is very modern.
I put a 160mm marzocchi bomber z1 on my 27.5 T7 and its awesome. I can climb, smash through rocks, and hit big jumps.
@@TFDCREW yeah, z1 seemed like a good option, I went with a lyrik and I also like it a lot
Nice looking bike. Jaw dropped when I heard the weight.
I’ll try to drop it again next video. 🤣 but yeah bro it was a beefcake out the box.
@@JaredRMorgan based on the comments, it appears the tires are the biggest culprit. I know of polygon and know them as a good value for money but damn I didn't know this bike was that cheap. I honestly thought this was a $3000 bike based on specs and how it looks.
I also thought it would have more travel because of those tires it came with. Those tires seems better suited for Enduro bikes doing shuttle laps at the bike park.
You sure that thing weighs 38 lbs? Did you measure it yourself or is that according to a website? What size is that measurement according to?
Very sure. I have a park tool scale which is a very good scale. This is a size L.
@@JaredRMorgan Good to know, thanks a lot 👍
how are you liking the t7 after the initial couple weeks?
It’s been an amazing bike. I had a feeling it would be good, bc I had been impressed by their offerings in the past. But this one in particular feels perfect for my needs/ riding style. It climbs and descends so well, and I have yet to find a definitive draw back to what it can do.
@@JaredRMorgan sorry if i missed it in your video but did you get the 29 or 27.5 wheel size?
@@JaredRMorgan also how do you think it would do on some more aggressive downhill, I live in the rockies
Is this a good first mountain bike in the $2k range?
Probably the best first mountain bike in the 2k range. It’s a brute!
I was just wondering if I should get the d7 or the t7..?
Is it good for jumps??
Definitely!
I really wanna get a d7 as my first proper full sus
That’s a great bike! If you shop through my link when buying yours you can help support this channel! 👍
maybe a vitus mythique and if you want to go as budget as possible you should start with a mongoose ledge and upgrade that over time
@@eugene44569 I live in ireland so no mongoose☹️
My friends has the d6, same as the d7 for the most part, minus the suspension. He totally shreds on it and it takes an absolute beating.
