Going overland from Luang Prabang to Vientiane then to Bangkok is an EXHAUSTING journey! Thankful we survived the back to back overnight bus and train combo. We started in Luang Prabang. There we boarded a "VIP" sleeper bus to Vientiane. The ride to Vientiane took about 10 hours. However, it was a rough 10 hours. The roads between Luang Prabang and Vientiane are winding mountain roads. We slide back an forth in our seats the entire time.
We arrived in Vientiane around 5 a.m.. We were dropped off at a bus station a little ways outside of the city. We caught a "taxi" into the city and wasted the day at a coffee shop. We were picked up at 3 p.m. for our overnight train between Vientiane and Bangkok.
The overnight train from Vientiane to Bangkok took a total 14 hours. The ride wasn't bad at all! Make sure you at least book the second class sleeper car. I wouldn't suggest that my worst enemy ride the bus from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the overnight from Vientiane to Bangkok to a friend!

Although seeing Kara and Nate explore beautiful locations, I always find it fascinating when they travel from A to B, whether by plane, train or bus. Travelling overland is always more of an adventure compared with flying, but seeing their faces at 5.30am makes you wonder what price they pay for a great travel vlog.

At this stage they were really making nothing on YT, no brand deals, no invites to places they were living off what they had saved for the past however long so I understand to an extent Nate's thrifty OCD but now in mid 2019 they are in a much different position and can afford a lot more s you just don' tsee a lot of this. I think he also realized in his OCD quest to be as "efficient" as possible with their time and money in all the places they go, he finally learned that making those calls a lot of the time can cost you MORE than if you had done it the more expensive way, sometimes a LOT MORE!!!!.

I’ve flown from LP to Chiang Mai for 75 USD then it only cost m 50USD to BKK. Probably cost less if you add up all the meals they spent

So I just recently stumbled onto a couple of your vlogs, thought you 2 were fun and subscribed. Started binge-watching your adventures from the beginning. Color me weird, but this episode is my fave so far! How loopy sleep deprived you are is legendary entertainment! Trust I know your pain, done overnight busses in Peru and India, but its all part of the adventure & being a traveler instead of a vacationer. Loving you 2, got a long way to catch up to you in S.A. But enjoying every vlog! 😀 & thanks for sharing your wanderlust!

But unfortunately, my partner complains every single time we experience something new. Watching you guys traveling and being happy together (even in unexpected circumstances) sort of confirms that I'm in a wrong relationship :( anyways, you guys are my new favorite channel!

There are some great sleeper buses in the world, but South and Southeast Asia are woefully absent of them for the most part. Noisy, often dirty, often way too much light, and over terrain that really doesn't bode well for anything resembling a good night's rest. I've done my time on them. I generally love sleeper trains though.

There's an old movie that I can't remember the name of where the two co stars were talking and she wanted to be a song writer and one of the lines to a song she was trying to work into a song was " setting on the side of the road in the middle of no where ' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙃 funny the things you remember P/S I remember what movie it was " Michael " with John Travolta
