I said in the video, I bought the tickets from 12go and they picked me up from my hotel. The train information including where I booked is also at the bottom of the description of the video.
You rave about the scenery from the train which you could see at your leisure by simply staying in VV but the train must miss the vast bulk of the mountain scenery you get from the van.
Of course the scenery would be great if you stay there or are able to drive or ride around it. I want to come back and do this, but I was here just to review the train, so I raved about the scenery I saw from the train.
Also you may want to check the new Indonesian High speed train (KCIC) because it's already surpassed the LCR Train in term of speed in south east Asia, also the number of passengers per day and frequency are higher than the LCR

What a HORRIBLE way to do business. Can only buy 3 days in advance? Station doesn’t open until sn hour prior to departure? Need a local SIM card?? It’s like they DON’T want foreigners to use it.
Only allows the passengers get into the station 1 hour before the train arrived is a bit ridiculous. I'm guessing they try to save some man-hours in each station and to reduce the wear and tear of the station? They may not have enough budget to fix things if they break.
Ok I have to ask, why the staf make you have to wait outside when they have waiting room inside the station for 2K passenger, isn't waiting room is for waiting?
I don’t really know to be honest, it doesn’t really make sense. Hopefully it changes, as well as the ticketing, because other than that it’s a great train.
Remembering going to Luang Prabang by bus took 12 hours or so - didn't know that Laos has a train now - thanks to Chinese money Southeast Asia is changing rapidly as it seems //

Also make sure you give your WhatsApp because when you book because they will massage you to pick you up from where you are staying and take you to the station. What a nightmare it is to buy a ticket as a visitor! It’s been open for a few now and I’m shocked that it is still not any easier for visitors to buy a ticket.

It’s not a loaded phrase. People usually don't say it because they think you might think they were lying; they say it because you might expect them to say the opposite, in which case they'd be lying. In this case I say it because people would expect me to say a train in Lao is bad.
I loved taking this train. The views were just incredible. I also used the same ticket buying service that you did to avoid the hassle. Was all so simple.

Laos I have to say is a very good country in Southeast Asia. Such an incredible country.
Thank you. I truly agree 👍🏻!
Looks identical to train stations in China. I can see was built by Chinese

Wish the South East Asian countries would have more modern infrastructure like this railway and train

It’s possible I might be able to give it a ride in March. But that will be a long shot, I don’t make the money to get over to just film that 🙂
with a population of 273 million, 266 million more than that of Laos, I am not surprised they have more trains.

Ticketings seems a hassle. I'm going to test 12Go as you suggested.
That doesn't look like the high speed train, but like the older green train.
Nice to have a train, but it is practically always sold out lol. So ultimately not very reliable
7:22 8:57 160km/h 单线快速铁路,兼具客运和货运,对于老挝的第一条铁路而言,已经很快了,而且也符合老挝现在的经济发展水平和未来发展趋势。

The green one is not the fast rail train right?
There are two type of green trains
This sharp head green train is as fast as the national-flag-colored train. The slow green train's head is "blunt".
