I remember playing Daggerdale when it came out originally. I was so excited for it, I ended up buying it on Steam just a few months after it released- but sadly, this was still before refunds were an option on the platform. I played 3 hours of the game and felt so disappointed by the complete lack of flavor and energy that I didn't know what to do with myself. The sad part is, I bought the game nearly a month after Skyrim's release; riding the wave of cool high-fantasy sword and sorcery games, and the difference in the quality level between the two games was just absolutely crushing. On the bright side, to try to regain some form of enjoyment from gaming in general, I ended up playing an inhuman amount of CoD Black Ops 1, just a complete tonal shift. Doing that changed my perception of video games in general and made me appreciate the medium from more angles, ultimately leading to me being a far less biased and opinionated gamer set in my ways. I learned to enjoy multiple genres for what they are and got rid of the elitist attitude that "CoD was for fratboys and wasn't a real video game". So I guess, thank you Daggerdale, for sucking so thoroughly and being such a waste of my $30 that you completely changed my perception of video games for the rest of my life.
That's cool, I'm glad you had that experience. It's easy to get comfortable with your established tastes. I was all about rogue-likes and had the same opinion of CoD until I really gave it a chance and realized it can be incredibly fun. There are so many games that are overlooked, just waiting to played and appreciated. It's too bad that some people can't or won't experience them. Game on, friend.

not mad you took the sponsorship but Better Help is not the best place to get therapy. The reason its so cheap is that a lot of the therapists on there aren't the best. I did actually try better help at one point and from my understanding the process they use is more of a way to get people to talk than to actually offer advice. For example, if you bring up something is deeply bothering you they might just ask more questions to get you to talk more. This is something real therapists do, but therapists can also offer real advice. they can tell you when an idea you have could be bad (like lets say you have an unhealthy coping mechanism, or you're in the wrong about something). You lost me after “see a therapist” Maybe that stuff is easy for people with mild mental health problems, but with severe ones, just saying “learn how to cook and also have the energy to do so and the time and the energy for the cleanup, pull energy out of the air to work out and clean.” Like people with severe mental health problems WANT to do those things. You know, i've watched a few of your videos, enjoyed them and subscribed, but after seeing you promote a company that is actually *harmful* to people, and ignoring all the backlash from viewers pointing it out, i think i'm going to reconsider, since it's clear you don't care about your audience.
That last game Hazen looks a lot like Warcraft III, I bet that's what the main inspiration for the style and theme was. So much so, that I get the feeling I'm looking at a WC3 mod. WC3 even had a bit of ARPG-like little sections, that wouldn't have been good as a full game, but gave it some nice variety.
I am amazed at some of the games that STEAM even allows on the site. It has no standards. Unfinished games that are still on the site MANY years after being first listed. Games with reviews so negative it makes your computer rebel. Why?
Bad sponsor. My recommendation to anyone seeking therapy is to delete social media for a month. The bar of “licensed therapists” in general is extremely low.
I played Daggerdale as a kid back on the 360. Being a kid, I had a lot of fun with its jankiness and beat it. It had good memories for me, but I can understand why it would be considered a dumpster fire. 😅
Man, I'd totally forgotten that I used to have '15 Days' in my Steam library. I don't think I made it too far through it before deleting it. I haven't played 'The Mystery of the Druids' but I have played another of their games - 'The Moment of Silence', and I remember absolutely hating that one by the end. It might be the reason why I was so quick to uninstall '15 Days' when I got to it. I wonder if I got those two in a bundle or something...
Oh boy. As a developer, I love watching these and learn from "mistakes" of others! But this episode really made me nervous about our own ARPG. Hope it's not going to turn into one of those "everything is goofy" titles 😆
Im really liking your bad steam game analysis videos. You don't just show janky games and mock them...theres plenty of content like that. But theres not alot of content like yours. Well done man. Its ashame how many games were lost forever when the 3ds and wiiU eahops were closed down. There are a few indie game series that are well worth looking into but they are just not really possible to access easily anymore unless you just happen to find someone with the games downloaded.
Beast Quest at least looks like they put some effort into it. It actually looks playable hahaha, and those cutscenes I thought were cute. You can tell whoever is behind Beast Quest actually has the chops to create video games!!
I played colorless life briefly and never finished it. After watching this video, it made me think of the dialogue in a whole new light. If all of this depression is happening inside the main characters head, wouldn't make sense that there may be other underlying issues inside their own head, that make the speech and dialogue so jumbled?
On the subject of idles, have you played...i think its called the machine? Then theres armory and machine, and a sequel? None of which i can find even apk for now.
I just cannot imagine, with the thousands of amazing games made in human history, that literally anyone would play a new game made by a nobody developer with all bad reviews. Of course you've got your unique reasons, but who is this human spending $2 on a game with 12 negative reviews and 2 good reviews?
I tried Better help once. Pretty sure the literal $320 a month they wanted added more stress and depression than it was worth. Thats basically a car payment, ill learn the coping skills.
I admit, just hearing the same voice actors as in Druids made me laugh a bit. If you haven't watched Mandalore Gamings streams about that game, it's hours of hilarious entertainment.

Maybe that stuff is easy for people with mild mental health problems, but with severe ones, just saying “learn how to cook and also have the energy to do so and the time and the energy for the cleanup, pull energy out of the air to work out and clean.”
Like people with severe mental health problems WANT to do those things. Their mental health makes it near impossible. Even more so if they have physical health problems as well
@@starcrysis23 therapy can help man, i had a ewing sarcoma and it helped me pull through even though i couldnt walk more than a mile. also i was diagnosed with depression and actively had suicidal thoughts for a bit.
Not only is Merge Hero garbage, it is straight up using pumped in free Unity store assets. The sprite used in the game is a free asset offered by Sven Thole on the Unity asset store. It is pretty much meant for practice and learning sprite animation in Unity.
Safe House is a genuinely interesting idea.
My favorite part of the video was seeing all the Berserk books behind you
Incredible how a top 10 worst games on steam video I watched a few months back spiraled into me digging into cobra and others for literally hours
In a future video you should do the oposite. Good games with no sucess/players
You had me at "Dwarven problems" lol!
I won't allow my son talk shit about Mistery of the Druids!
Fun fact: a dale is a valley, iirc
Good hold over vid for the boys, what's after the Wibber 3?
Nothing wrong with goofy. Worked for Psychostick. Always thought a company should hire a good comedian to head the story board writing.
@@murderedcarrot9684 True, if it's intentionally goofy it can be good! 😁
Just found this channel via the alan wake/remedy retrospective. This guy SOUNDS like alan wake to me and i cant unhear it
Im really liking your bad steam game analysis videos.
I had a total of 10 ads on this video, this is ridiculous
and that cringy opening. yikes
Dude Berserk, House of Leaves, and Blood Meridian all together is a stacked at bookshelf, genuinely three of my favorite works ever
Beast Quest at least looks like they put some effort into it. It actually looks playable hahaha, and those cutscenes I thought were cute. You can tell whoever is behind Beast Quest actually has the chops to create video games!!
The number of beserk deluxe books you have makes me jealous
Bettter help is not therapists they are pyscologysts sorry to say there is videos here on youtube exposing them
Psychologists are therapists. Psychiatrists are not therapists, and they only prescribe medications.
Son, you're allowed to take a break, buddy 😭
I played colorless life briefly and never finished it. After watching this video, it made me think of the dialogue in a whole new light. If all of this depression is happening inside the main characters head, wouldn't make sense that there may be other underlying issues inside their own head, that make the speech and dialogue so jumbled?
Shovelware has become a problem on pretty much every system now and i hate it
Lol what problems do you have with it. Just dont get it
I just wanna clear something up in the opening. If these games catered to the lowest common denominator they'd actually have good reviews. :v
betterhelp sponsorship? really dude?
Colorless Life WOULD have been better if it had the Max Payne theme like you added XD
Colorless Life is why you should never use MTL to translate for commercial products.
On the subject of idles, have you played...i think its called the machine? Then theres armory and machine, and a sequel? None of which i can find even apk for now.
In a sea of UA-camrs and Content creators your page came across my feed. Love it, Great content, and a very pleasant voice.
Hey are u still doing the retrospectives ? Like the content Either way
"Here we're only given 4 options which is extremely limited."
Hey, still 3 more options than, say, Gothic or the Witcher.
I just cannot imagine, with the thousands of amazing games made in human history, that literally anyone would play a new game made by a nobody developer with all bad reviews. Of course you've got your unique reasons, but who is this human spending $2 on a game with 12 negative reviews and 2 good reviews?
Huh. While Daggerdale wasn't a good game at all, It's hardly one of the worst on Steam...not by a long shot.
I tried Better help once. Pretty sure the literal $320 a month they wanted added more stress and depression than it was worth. Thats basically a car payment, ill learn the coping skills.
Hey son.....did you steal my blunt ?...
Daggerdale reminds me of the dark alliance games on ps2/Xbox....obv plays like cack..
I admit, just hearing the same voice actors as in Druids made me laugh a bit. If you haven't watched Mandalore Gamings streams about that game, it's hours of hilarious entertainment.
bro i played dagger dale the week it came out. ive been saying ever since its the worst game ive ever played... the fact it made it to your list is amazing lol
The son has done well again, and it pleases the father.
Sponsored by betterhelp? Can’t watch, tastes too bad.
It sounds like "skyrim dialogue run through ai" except built into the base game lol
I could be wrong but this isn't your playlist for that video series.
i dont have a son but ur my favorite one
Was hoping Overwatch might be covered on this video, but that's just too low of a low to be mentioned.
My schools esports team roped me into playing support for Overwatch 2 because I used to play Overwatch before it got ruined
Hey son, good to see you again. 👋
Awesome vid. I'd love to see some more yakuza content especially Ishiin
Almost 100% certain the guy on the right at 17:35 is the player character Halligan's voice actor from Mystery of The Druids.
Wait, didn't Reggie Fils-Aime once say that Torus Games were well known for their _good_ ports?
I mean, I know a dev can't make gems all the time, but still, Reggie wouldn't lie... would he?
I think the timestamps are wrong
Accepting a BetterHelp sponsorship when it was known they aren't what they say they are by that point.
Very serious red flag here.
Hey, do yourself a favour and do some research on some of your sponsors next time
Can't help it now, but please distance yourself from Better Health in the future
Needless to say, I'd rather entrust my medical problems to a sack of rice than Better Health. It's a scam and a half
Hazen looks like a Poor attempt at a Dungeon Siege clone.
Seeing an ad for therapy, from a guy that has the entire hardcover berzerk manga behind him is probably the best thing ive seen today
I four minutes i got exposed to a dangerous and immoral scam, and nothing else. Work on your values as well as on narration.
I guess that safehouse game needed some precise inputs and any bugged choices would completely break immersion...
Son....a betterhelp sponsorship? Seriously? I thought I had taught you better. Please do some research into your sponsors before you accept them, I know we all gotta make some mullah but there's definitely a right way and a wrong way of going about things.
Steam and the Mobile game market has a lot in common: lots of trash trying to make money
Betterhelp sponsorship .... yikes
Yourfavoriteson should call his audience something like dad or mom to fit the son vibe I guess but that sounds “weird”
Well done, Son. Dad.
New ray of sonshines brightens my night over here.
I keep thInking damnation is going to end up on here and it never does
