Azruulei No, there is actual hour boosting services and free programs for idling games for huge amounts of hours. You can idle 30 games at a time on Steam this way without even launching the game. It is how all those people with huge amounts of hours get the hours.

Back in the 90's, fake doors were common. There's no indication that they're locked, it's just a single quad with a texture on it to make it feel more like a real place and less than a series of monster arenas. Then developers learned that it felt less cheap if you added a message or a trigger on the door to make a locked door sound. But having a fake door that opens; that's genius.

Actually, I swear i played Glacier. Just Glacier, the original one. It did have an actual story mode, where you were trying to take down a guy in a black car (there were only 2 cars in the entire game; a white one you had from the start, and a black one you unlock at halfway point of the game, which was objectively better at everything.) The handling was atrocious, and the textures looked really old, but i remember loving that game. Then again, I was 7 at the time and i didn't know any better.
That's not all though, the original Glacier was a promo made for some cereal my mom bought at Tesco. Why did it become a franchise is beyond me though.
Quick EDIT: I just found the boxart for the first one: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61DZk0drQeL.jpg This is all the info i was able to find however. There are articles on some gaming sites, but they're mostly empty, and the developer's website (which seems to promote shitty shovelware) doesn't speak of the Glacier games at all.

idk if u got it yet but me and my friends actually did. i love the game as a meme but it lags so bad even with a good computer. i have 16gb ram and a gtx 1050 and the game lags even when its the only open application. my pc isnt old either its new so its not my pc its the game

It runs at a locked 30fps. To fix it, go into nvidia control panel, manage 3d settings, click add, click TW.exe, scroll to the bottom where it says VSYNC and turn that off. Click apply and it will now run at an unlocked framerate. With your PC you will probably have to play it on low/medium.

it looks like that many of these "games" were made by guys who are learning to program a game for the first time in their lives and launch it on Steam for a quick buck. If their games were free to play as a joke, there would not a problem, but actually charge several dollars for them are basically a crime by itself! I Hope Steam announce quality control soon because it will hurt them as a company if it keeps this up.

However if you plan on selling it, then good I hope you are scared, hopefully that will give you the motivation to put the extra effort into making it a fun experience.

Don't be scared that it will be shit. That is pointless. Because it will definitly be shit, guaranteed. But the only way to get good at making games is practising. As long as you don't charge money for it then you aren't scamming anyone. If you keep at it then you will get better, eventually. Basically no ones first game is good, but there are good games. Make shit games, fail, try again.
Study what makes a game good and how to write code properly.
Limit the scope of your projects to something that you can do. If your have never made a game before then you first game can be a clone of a simple game like pong or tetris, maybe with a creative twist of your own. When your clone is fun to play and complete, make something that is a *little* bit bigger. And so on.
You can't learn how to make games unless you put them out and have people like this guy criticize them and get humiliated. If theres a place I can get it then ill get you some feed back.

If this wasn't intentional, could the object have just been static? At least from what I remember with some modding, for interactable objects like say a crafting table, all that was needed was to turn on the static object input, at least for those games. I'm sure everything has a tool for that.

That's because level design and art direction is much more important to aesthetics than having realistic textures and detailed models. The original Doom still looks better than most of these games because the levels had some kind of actual effort put into them and the art had some level of consistency.

I think that was the devs forgetting to program something as night vision. They created the option and said, "Eh, we'll get to it later," and then completely forgot to finish it.

@Felipe Correia Borges Yeah he wasnt like that, he knows that the game is bad but is happy that some people enjoy it! He even gave me free steam keys for the first and the second game ( yes there is a sequel ).

they could of added some verbal context such as "she was my teacher" "or he would always dress so handsome." to add more depth even with a paragraph worth of narration framed like that or even her saying " my knee is started to hurt I will sit right here for a moment" and you as the player have to hold a button till she is ready. it doesn't take much to add depth to a game, hell they could of had her have flowers and bring them to her husbands grave and then she keels over beside his grave.
as a developer, you learn that the more refined you make a game and divide characters the better the story comes out.

Well boys, this video is intended as a big blowoff, because this is sort of the end for this style of content. DX Plays and subsequently, the Summer Of DX are being retired. That doesn't mean you won't see me play bad games anymore, however. I plan on starting regular streaming on Twitch soon. Can't reveal too many details about that right now, but there will be a lot of new content stemming from there, that will replace the usual DX Plays. For many months, my interest has shifted to the more analytical side of things, and the videos I've made on those topics have been well received. Anime and Games I F*cking Hate are here to stay, and won't see any real change, but expect more videos in the vein of my Tomb Raider, FEAR Retrospective and Video Game Aging videos. Kerim Kerim no mans sky contains content that is too vile and incomplete for even the most uncrackable audience members, such a video containing gameplay of this dissapointment will have to be removed due to violating community guidelines.
The truth is that no man's sky is quite entertaining, they had to launch the game
fast by insistences of sony of the community and in the end people with
so many expectations towards the game was sad for not having what they
wanted in the first version of the game that in theory was to be exclusive for the playstation 4, are currently working on more updates and improvements and even has support for mods for the community to build its own universe :D
