My dad was a navigator over Italy so I had to have this model. I have had the kit for years. Watching your video helps to take the fear out of such a complicated build for a beginner. Dads plane had no guns of bombs since they flew night time reconnaissance. Finally shot down the night before the war ended and landed in a vineyard with no injuries but Dad and the pilot, Dale Keller were captured and thought they were going to be tortured but again the war ended and they were spared.
Oh no! No chipping on mosquitoes because nearly the entire airframe was made of wood. I hate to be the one to tell you - sorry. Otherwise, the end result is quite nice. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent work with the Mosquito. A beautyful plane. I like the weathering and the painting work. Thank you for share your amazing techniques. Máster Modeller I Salute You from Guatemala, The Land of Quetzal Bird, Símbol of Freedom.
Beautiful job!!! I must admit that the mosquito is one plane with a look that I dont like at all , but was a great plane and it looks beautiful in your hands !!!
Years ago I built the Airfix 1/48 Mosquito and had a similar nightmare with the undercarriage. Finally got it all in only to realise after the glue had set they were back to front, so I had to break them off and redo. It never did sit right. Ended up giving it to a friend who seemed to think it was a work of art, for some reason.
I see your hand shake just a bit. I have a shaky hand also and it sucks when I’m doing fine lines haha. Big factor in me not becoming a surgeon or an electrician 😅. Amazing build great job
Nice job. Just a tip for the next time you glued something in the wrong way. Don't use the saw, just apply Tamiya thin Cement ones more, wait some time and you can take the parts away. The glue resolves the already fixed older glue ;-)
Nice job, and music was perfect. Tell me, how many times did you hold it, squint through one eye and pretend it was flying? Even at 68, I find I still do it ... Once a kid, always a kid.
Nice work! I'm currently building the same model and it needs a lot of patience for sure... :-) I haven't built models in roughly 40 years, but still I didn't hesitate to get a level 5 model to begin with... LOL I wish I had paid more attention to the beginning of your build as that would have saved part of my sanity as I painted a lot of the parts before assembling them, which meant I had to scape the color off since the parts wouldn't stick together if they were painted, I use a brush to paint though...
@@wbpsmodels3452 I just got to the landing gear part of the build... My first mistake was painting the parts before assembling them and my second mistake was actually following the instructions on how to put it together... Fortunately I've managed to keep calm so far, but had I not cut the engine cover open the landing gear would have ended up in the trash can... Hahahahaha...
Another good effort - not sure if you have already corrected the exhausts (they're upside down). Good techniques, you're definitely improving with each build.
Hi, very nice video, i am also thinking of getting this kit, would also like the wooden stand if the the guy who makes them changes his mind let me know as it would be very helpful.
The wooden stand It's made by a guy here in Greece. He makes several wooden jigs for modellers, using a laser cutter and clever planning. I'll ask him if he's interested in shipping abroad. The glass rotating plate is from an old microwave oven.
@@romans2500 I've tried to convince him to start shipping abroad, for the time he's not interested.. I'm sorry... If he changed his mind, i'll let you know. Where are you btw?
All that careful painting but you did little with those awful seams on the fuselage and around the engine necelles? And the Mosquito was made primarily of wood so if there would only be chipping around the engines where metal was used.
Thank you very much! :) The total time from opening the box till putting it to the display, was something near 20-25 days (if I remember correctly)... However, not all time was spent on the build.. sometimes it takes 2-3 days between sessions (waiting for the paint to cure or the glue to set etc)... and sometimes i'm too busy (or too tired) to even get into the "workshop"... The actual work time (cleaning, assembling, painting, weathering) for the build was no more than 72 hours... (For a more precise answer I need to add the total video time and multiply it by 2)..
I have not thought about it, since I build models for my own pleasure... I might do a commission if asked, however the problem of shipping a model worldwide from Greece is an issue. On the other hand, I have never thought of a price for either selling or commissioning.. Why do you ask?

Very nice work, excellent painting with just the right level of weathering. Well done a great looking Mossy
Thank you very much for the kind words :)
Enjoyed watching the video this morning... I love what you do... very good job

It's so relaxing watching your clips! For me as a beginner it's also quite motivating and instructive!
Glad you enjoy it!
Hi! Nice job! Just now l’ m building the same model of the Mossy! It is interesting to compare our techniques!

The expressions (or should I say expletives) I used at the time of building bear no repetition here... for the sake of propriety... ;)
Ill fitting kit or what! Nicely negotiated sir. Brilliant finish.
Thank you... as I recall, it wasn't ill fitting, although it wasn't a piece of cake.. ! :)

I'll keep it in mind, but I honestly wish that I won't have to use that tip ;) Thank you nonetheless, it's a useful one! :)

Not the easiest model to re-start with, especially the landing gear... Good luck with your model! Thank you for watching!

Perfect as I am about to build this

Yep, they WERE upside down... Noticed it after the vid was uploaded! Thank you for watching!
Just finished the mine!
Nice detailed work.
Thank you John :)
Hi, very nice video, i am also thinking of getting this kit, would also like the wooden stand if the the guy who makes them changes his mind let me know as it would be very helpful.
I’m am so tempted to try the HK 1:32 Avro Lancaster 😂
Where did you get the jig/stand holding the model while you painted? I was salivating.

Nice built
Built him to, but a lot of fit problems and gaps
Wasn't the easiest for me as well...
why didnt you fill the big gaps and remove the join lines where you glued the parts together?
Check at 22:00
Superb thanks
Thank you :)
Would there be chipped paint, showing silver on the Mossy? It was made of wood.
That's why I chipped only parts that were aluminum like wing joints.. I hope I didn't overdo it.
How do you get that look where some of the paint has come off, white paint? I’m not too sure
It's called chipping... I use darkened aluminum color and a very thin brush to simulate the chipping of the paint with very tiny strokes
@@wbpsmodels3452 thanks
Looks great built him to
But a kit with a lot of fit problems
Wasn't that bad in fitting.. difficult yes.. ill fitting, not so much. I have seen better, I have seen much worse. Thanks for the comment :)
Nice build, subscribed!
Thanks. Didn't know your channel... nice vids. Subscribed too! :)
Fantastic!!!
Thank you very much!
Where is That Model Building rack? Plase
It's made here in Greece by someone who makes those things as a hobby...

These model building rackeds are not available anywhere and would be a real box-office hit.

I saw the one they restored in NZ for its first flight in public at armistice day in Cambridge 2013 it was awesome 😎
DUH!!!!
You need narration
Only if you need to hear him swear at the landing gear.....
I'm swearing in Greek.. not many can understand that.. LOL.
Do you believe so?
