Its understandable cause even though he mentally tramutized, this could potentially be a danger to her and her kids. All relationships are based on trust and transparency, (that's why she was honest and even told him that she kissed her brother in the first place) and if he didn't tell her or was willing to open up to his own wife whats bothering him to a point where he almost killed himself then there's wont be a real emotional basis for their relationship anymore.

One thing that still does not sit right with me is that Grace was completely in the wrong yet acts like she is right. Her husband goes out to war and when he "dies" she goes with his brother, after he gets upset sends said brother to the kitchen to take his gun from him putting the brother in massive danger since he is now dealing with a man that is mentally unstable. And as icing on the cake, she practically forces her husband(?) to speak out about something traumatic that happened.

This was Tobey's swan song. I love him in thisone. This man's acting is something else. Even with the brilliant performances of Natalie Portman (who won the Oscar for Black Swan the same year) and Jake Gyllenhall, his performance just blows it right out of the park. He may have been my generation's Spiderman. And unfortunately for him, that stygmata stuck with him for too long. But damn did he show us that he's not just a one Hit wonder.

For those who have never watched the movie, Grace and Tommy never f*cked. All they did was “kiss” because they both were in their feelings. After they kissed, they realized it was wrong and wanted nothing more than that. No strings attached.
Unfortunately, Sam was going through PTSD and had every reason to believe that Grace and Tommy were doing stuff behind his back even though they were not. (I don’t blame him). He saw that they and the kids got closer while he was gone. They were just really concerned for his well being.
His daughter confirmed it! that his wife and be brother were sleeping together and when Sam asked him while they were ice skating Tommy never said No and said it’s all in ur head man….
