Absolutely devastated with what going on with Oldham Athletic now 115 years of glory and final day escapes now a None League side I feel for the club and the supporters Oldham will be back 🔵⚽️
I was at the Southampton game, last game of the season. Lost all my fingernails in the last 15 mins, and a few tears spent after the final whistle. The Boys in Blue.....what a team!!
Bit my nails down to the knuckles, that season..... but wouldn't have missed any of it out, given my time over again. Gets better every time I watch it again, but still biting my nails!!
Bloody hell!! Forty years ago, and it feels like yesterday. God, I wish todays OAFC had a tenth of the belief the lads had back in the golden olden days.
Well lets look at the stats for each teams great escape shall we. West Brom- Won 6 of 38 games played, a win percentage of 15.78%, averaging 0.89 points per game, goals for 36, against 61, difference -25 Highest placed side beat Everton (4th), second highest Bolton (6th) Oldham - Won 13 of 42 games played, a win percentage of 30.95%, averaging 1.16points per game, goals for 63, against 74, difference -11. Highest placed side beat Man.Utd. (1st), second highest Aston Villa (2nd). West Brom were the best of 4 awful teams that averaged less than a goal and point for every game they played. If Oldham had had such a poor win percentage as Albion , we would have been down by Mid February '93.

I was at all three games. Incredible times!
Seeing what Luton town did I'm sure Oldham can return to the premier league someday.
what an awesome week that was, oh to be anywhere near that standard now, cant see it somehow.
Not a patch on Leicester in 2015. 7 wins and a draw in the last 9 games.
And now ? Oldham with a few other former top flight clubs in League 2.
No West Brom’s was better
