I also found that strange that he should find it boring watching matches which featured teams that his club would have to face. No wonder they only won one out of the seven. He must have known the size of the task he was facing before taken the job on... Not like owning a level seven team with your mates, bringing in ringers who are a grade above the level your team is playing at and then climbing the leagues. Other club managers will know the names of every opposition player, what their physical and mental strengths and weaknesses are... and exploit these facts as best they can...

Lol. 11 Premier League titles, 2 Champions League medals among other things with Manchester United, and he's not allowed to voice out his opinions about his beloved club? Did Gerrard, Lampard, Mourinho, Zidane and the like start their managerial career with a club in the fourth division? People are talking as if they know what really happened behind the scene. It's easy to be a keyboard warrior nowadays, huh? But at least, I can have a good laugh whenever I need to relax. Thanks, guys. Keep on hating.

Regardless of whether he was a good manager or not he didn’t bottle it. From what he’s said he’s been told to play senior players or whatever player by someone in the club. It’s actually strong of him to step down as he didn’t want to be told what to do by others. He’s the manager he chooses the team and if he didn’t feel like he could do what he wanted then there’s no point him being there. Getting a lot of undeserved stick IMO.

It takes a totally different set of cognitions to coach football compared to playing it. Scholes' being was based on his football ability. Convey those skills to others, communicate and translate for the right outcome is a million miles away from just doing it automatically on the field. Its harder to be a coach than a player and I've done both.
