Greedy Dodge Jeep & Ram Dealer Can’t sell vehicles…Wonder Why?

- And this video I’m walking around an AutoNation dealership which is the largest dealer network in the United States and it is widely known. They are trying to get rid of all their Dodge Jeep and ram and Chrysler dealerships. They are the least profitable out of the bunch and with all the drama going on with the Lantis who knows what’s gonna happen they have a 2023 jeep wrangler on the lot not sold without even advertising a discount, this dealer screwed
Dealers are in the business of collecting cars now instead of pricing them to sell.
No US BAIL OUT🖕, Let France bail them out!!!
unfortunately stellantis north america employs around 82k people with over 42k being in the US so they may not get a bailout but they'll get some government assistance
I know someone who drove a Dodge product for 7 years.. The only thing that consistently works was the engine warning light.
Dodges are very eco-friendly! My cousin's truck has almost completely returned to the environment as iron oxide.
Good one
@@sboy1955 I'm not joking.
My supervisor has a car for 3 days. And then it pretty much stayed on for 7 years.
@@williammccallum1550 - I don’t doubt it
These idiotic dealerships would rather send these old-new stock vehicles to auction or crush them than rather give the consumer a discount.
Gibson guitars did that with the Firebird guitar. The came up with an expensive tech guitar nobody wanted for like $4000. When they didn’t sell they lined them up a the ground and drove over them with some kind of construction vehicle crushed them and threw them out. I’m starting to think most of these uber expensive jeeps and trucks are doomed to be scrapped eventually.
@@davidgreene1324yeah it really is
When they thought they could price their vehicles at Lexus prices they lost their customers. Absolutely insane.
I walked into automation one time and they said, we don't negotiate. I said negotiate this...goodbye
@@tomhorst7614They can negotiate with the Unemployment Office very shortly
Local jeep dealer wants $130k for the wrangler with the hemi.
There is absolutely no way. Not saying you're wrong, but that isn't at all realistic.
Tell the dealer you're gonna buy it half that price when they go bankrupt, then leave.. and you will see a significant drop in price
@@mohamedsoliman1507 okay fine why don't you go talk to the financing team and see what we can get done
😂
WHAT 😵💫
A jeep rubicon for more than 50k is crazy but 71k????? 😂
Might buy one if it's 50% off. I rather see the stealerships go bankrupt . You reap what you sow.
To be fair, not all their fault. A lot of people used their COVID money to live the YOLO life and pay whatever the dealer was asking. Those people screwed us cause they told the dealers they'll pay whatever they ask..
Dealership Karma. Remember how dealers treated you during the pandemic.
They are still holding on to COVID era prices and practices. Let them eat shit.
Hmmm an unreliable Wrangler for $70k+ or my Toyota 4Runner that I got for $47k??? This is a tough decision 😂😂😂
They tried to steal my 2011 jeep several years ago for 7k. It wass blue booked at the time for 19k . and private sale blue book was 23k. They had a 2010 on the lot for 25k.... Autonation are a bunch of ripoffs in my opinion.
You can buy a Lexus Rx 400. It will last forever. It will outlast you if you don't crash it.
you might be able to wear out two sets of tires before a 4 digit repair with Stellantis.
Facts 👍🏽
lmao the manufacturer's standard 3yr warranty is gonna expire while the car is sitting on that lot!!! :O
Wow ! Didn't think about that !
Warranties go into effect when the car is first purchased, not when it was manufactured.
@@kennethsowdenCorrect. If New car was on the lot for a while , I would suggest to check tires, if more then a year I would ask for new battery
@@panpanaderia2163 more than that after a vehicle sits for 3 years. They are meant to move while oils lubricate everything. I would need a steep discount to buy this.
@@michaelh370 You will ask cause you have head on your neck and it is not empty, but there plenty of customers who sees shiny metal and would ask where to sign. Flippers in Illinois taping a rust with a duct tape, spray paint it and selling that junk, cause people buying.
Due to low quality and poor reviews, even at 50% off, I would be hesitant to buy.
Much like Nissan. Maybe at $25,000-30,000 out the door but nothing more.
It's the same story at the Harley Davidson dealers. They want full sticker and markups on 2 year old unsold units as well.
Then they toss on the aftermarket bling, not even OEM parts, and want a markup on those as well.
I cannot wait to see the for sale signs getting staked into the earth in front of all these dealers that do this to their customers.
Jeep dealers in my area have all been scum the past few years. They false advertise the online price, lie about these extra charges, and have the worst salespeople. I tried hard to buy a wrangler from about 10 dealers and got tired of the BS. Funny thing is some of the wranglers i was looking at are still on the lot.
So sorry! 😮😢
The problem is, this is all dealerships now from all manufacturers
Pre Covid a base Ford F150 XL 2wd could be purchased under 20k.
Now they start at 37k, what will they cost in another 4 years, 50k?
How can that dealership afford to have 2023 cars on their lot, new, and not giving discounts??? Anytime i've found leftovers on dealer lots that were even 1 year old, they had heavy discounts. Are they trying to go out of business?
They keep waiting for that one sucker to come in.
My jeep went thru countless number of issues thru out the years including electrical, power train, Evap and o2 exhaust system, literally it’s a piece of junk! 😢 people are not stupid to pay that much to the greedy dealers and car makers anymore!
Yeah same here.. went to my local dealership.. They were loaded, but no deals, no discounts
when they go out of business I wont be sad at all.
At one point in 23' (based on that Ram/Jeep dealer) people stopped paying those insane prices and wised up. The bigger problem is those that did pay up are sitting with a used vehicle that's worth far less than the remaining note. And yes, many dealers are in fantasy land, and they will go down with the ship. No gov bailouts to manufactures, it's got to stop.
Do not buy cars at Auto Nation. It will rip you off.
I truly believe the dealership crash is coming, maybe not this year, but within the next decade I feel we will see a dramatic change in the way they operate.
I hope the government doesn't bail them out this time
Dealerships are not a problem, demand - high, why not to charge more? If customers would live healthy lifestyle, they wouldn't have to buy big suv, take a Japan for example , very low obesity rates, and KEI cars, take the US, )can you fit all that fat in Versa or even Civic. And also US swag " I gotta be cool I need Hellcat or BMW".
@panpanaderia2163 OH, I get it. You're a "special" person.
@@panpanaderia2163horrible take😂 dealers are definitely the problem
@ OperationWojak that’s a pretty vague estimation within the decade. Sounds like the housing market o it should crash in the next 10 years. GTFOH
2023s with Mark ups 😂😂😂
Right, if I were in the market for a Jeep and I saw a “23” sticker on the window, I’d think “Nice, someone bought that, put a few thousand miles on it, and traded it in for something else. I’m gonna see if I can get it for 15% less than new.”
@@markroberts8975 You can get new for 15% off of sticker.
🤷🏽Oh Well ! 😂
I understand Stellantis is making bad management decisions but I’m happy that someone is finally calling out these greedy dealerships because I believe that they were a major contributor to this downfall too.
These ridiculous prices have to END! For all car companies, not just Stellantis.
I’m keeping my 12 yr old SUV until the wheels fall off!
Crazy UAW pay and benefits cost is big issue and amount to large amount of cost. Stop yelling CEO as 25 million across all brand and services parts in like a couple dollars a car. But the uneducated big business haters haven't a clue. I spent 45 and costing was my job and know who causes the issue.
Just when I thought I've seen it all 🤣🤣🤣 23's with markup , they think we're still in the pandemic or something
Even with 30k off its still too spensive😂
This is the beginning of the end for Stellantis
Pretty sure once those 2023's hit 2 years old they can no longer be sold as new vehicles, so they have a lot more trouble coming.
In the UK you see the same thing but they sell as used with 1 owner and less than 100miles. 1000's of them like that :))
Greed is a sickness and those car dealerships are sick believing customers are millionaires and stupid.
There are customers with poor credit history, who are buying Toyota Sequoia for 120k 😂
All These dealer reviews have become the funniest sitcom on
Give the customers a rebate of 40 thousand dollars and still the dealerships have a good profit. 90 THOUSANDS FOR A CAR IS CRAZY.
That 71k Wrangler should be 45k. Stellantis lost their minds, 70k Rams with a 6 banger. Not what we want.
Everybody is BRAINWASHED! $45,000 is still absurd!
71K for a damn electric Wrangler? These dealers are delusional.
Exactly
Idiots 😂
There will always be people with more money than brains.....
Stellantis and CDJR dealers are now in the business of running parking lots. Oh well. To each his own. 🍻
Puzzling that this guy wanders about dealers' lots videoing and no one comes out to try and sell him a car or ask WTH he's doing?
Maybe he films on Sunday
Why would they bother.its advertisement for them. They also will be in shock someone is even looking at them.
Or he goes after-hours, so he's not hassled. 🙄
Outside for 2 years 😮......dash is done, amongst other components
That 'license plate' 1:29 is the perfect metaphor.
Yeah, they don’t care.
Allow these American Car brands to be greedy so they can all go under and belly up. I am for it. We don't need their unreliable $100K cars that will depreciate 50% in 2 years.
Stellantis isn't an American car brand.
@@doom4067 Nonetheless, I hope they go under.
Was in Ireland last month. Plenty of Citroen, Opel and Fiat cars on the road. Is this more of a CDJR problem? They have been in a protected market with trucks due to the import tax but it isn't helping them now that interest rates are up and the market is saturated with overpriced product.
Autonation is not stupid. They are just waiting for stellantis to buy these bavk. They are not going to loose anything.
lose - not loose
Mama says, stupid is as stupid does!
Your Mammy said right, wish you can hook a brother up. 🤎
"A lot of people are not the smartest." That's what they're counting on.
True tally will be the Harris / Walz votes; how much intelligence left in America.
$71,000 for a 2023 is insane. Let them eat it.
If they are doing that it means they are not loosing money yet… this is still not hurting them at all. That teaches the crazy profits these dealerships have made for over decades. They are not hurting at all. They are just waiting it out, the parent companies will have to buy it back and these dealerships are not going to loose any money
And you can't park that 4xe in the garage without risk of your house burning down
This is the only way to boost the price of their used cars inventory. They don’t care if the new ones are not sold.
Most of those vehicles are stuffed.... You can't start cars, move them 5 feet every second day and not let them go through their entire heat cycle.
You end up with moisture in the crank case and all kinds of issues
$71,000.00 for that Rubicon? That's F#%@ed!
Wouldn’t purchase a CDJR product even at 50% discount. Had a 3500 with a Cummins, the only thing that didn’t break is the Cummins.
Are markups included in the inflation reduction act.😂😂😂
Same fate as HD. No clients left to purchase. Here it's Dollars, with HD it's an age group.
Should come to Chicago Land, I work for a jeep dodge ram dealership. We selling cars 10k below (legit price) and they great cars still. But the news and youtube channels killing us. I even saw a story where a dealer principal said he would not take one for free.
the marketing actually makes a lot of sense. $629/month sounds a lot better to a lot of people than 60-70k. people are dumb
I’m paying $280 a month on my 2020 that I just bought last month.
@@jasonweishaupt1828 im jealous
629 a month sounds horrible to a vast amount of people. That's why they are not selling.
The people that fall for that have already defaulted in previous loans.
@@jasonweishaupt1828 It must have over 100,000 miles. Anyway Congratulations 🎊 🤎🤎
Price your cars appropriately and they will sell. It’s absurd what they want for cars nowadays.
Grants pass oregon dealership would make you vomit. They thought I'd sign a deal on a 60k jeep with a $1300 a month payment costing me 86k over 72 months. Also, these dealership will continue to get bailed out. They aren't going anywhere.
The vehicles are so old the dealerships could become auto museums.
My heart bleeds for the dealers……the same ones that charged $10,000 “market adjustments”……besides that Chrysler products are garbage.
If I’ve got to buy Gap Insurance then I’m paying too much.
They are delusional walked away the other day from a dodge dealer here in Honolulu. They had an overpriced Charger GT and wouldn't negotiate. A week later they were calling me back saying they still had it. This time the answer was fuck no!
I know these are technically new vehicles. But it’s bad for cars especially modern cars to sit for long periods of time. I personally wouldn’t accept a car that’s sat on a lot for 500 days as new. From the electrical connections to bushings , the paint . It’s not like these vehicles are kept in a garage. Some have sat out in the elements for a couple of summers and winters. Even if they dropped the prices down to reasonable levels I don’t think I’d want them.
I only buy Toyota and Lexus and avoid large SUVs and trucks. Regardless, the prices are still way too high. Also, Jeep is unreliable.
80k for a half ton😂 gosh to the DAMN🤣.. these mfs have lost their mind
Selling the monthly payment is fairly common.
Tires and rubber parts degrade over time. Sitting on a lot is terrible on a car. A new car fit me has to be fresh off the line. Tires still oozing oils... Should be 20% discount per year, or recycled...
They will only go up in value, just like gold. 😅
Annnnd let’s not forget about the thousands of dollars worth of worthless “dealer’s services” they add to the paperwork once you sit down with their financier.
Here is about 18k off msrp. At that price off, it's worth it
All those plastic Fiat parts on the engine crack and fail from heat after 40,000 miles. In Europe, plastic has to be biodegradable, which means it rots like untreated pine and the parts fall apart after 3 years. Stellantis won't even be there in 3 years for you to cry to.
This is crazy … 😬
After the Chinese get a foothold in the US market the big 3 are toast.
You sure about that??? Their vehicles reliability make Kia’s look like a Lexus
@@ryanm4013 people said that about the Japanese, then the Koreans.
BYD is one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world and they are vertically integrated similar to Telsa.
But who started this Henry Ford 100 years ago.
There are finally chrysler rebates and incentives here in the northeast. However $5000 probably won't be enough. Dodge and jeep aren't very popular in my state.
I had a 4XE Wrangler as a rental earlier this year. It's a total gimmick. Herky jerky engine starting from electric. The EV mode only barely lasts 10-15 miles. Giant battery under the rear seat and it just adds weight. Reliability problems with terrible dealer service. $85k for a loaded Rubicon not even a 392. if you really want a 4Xe, look for a 1 year old one with 10k miles on it, they are selling for 40. Only a FOOL would buy a new one. Let em rot.
I agree with you on everything except liability problems. They’re definitely 💯 reliable at least the 305 Jeeps I our Atlanta Club.” 🤎🤎👊🏾
You’d be a fool to buy a used one. The new ones have lemon law protections.
when normal banks will not even loan on msrp prices, and they are required 15-20 down, even banks know that stealantis is over valued the prices of there autos 15-20 over, stealanits, dealers doing ADMS and screwing people and high rates are 3 factors. the only way stealanits and dealers can sell the current inventory they would have to cut 15-20 k off the msrp
No one is giving a 30k discount on a 2025. Let’s be real at least.
Seems like fiat was a lot better for Chrysler than Peugeot has been
Part of the issue is the manufacturer.
It is commendable that the dealer lets you walk around filming on their lot, probably knowing that the video will evoke a lot of negative sentiment. There are countries where you'd be at risk walking around making videos with a negative sentiment about life in general.
Let em’ rot!!
Taking 30k off would make some of these cars actually worth it
6:02 hailstone damage. This and cracked windshields are EXTREMELY common in Colorado the closer to the mountains you get. the hail damage is both a common sight and a well known insurance write-off. It totals the vehicle in the eyes of the insurance company. You get a check from insurance that typically exceed the value of the vehicle for a new car and (if you can find an insurer) you can keep driving it around or you can sell it off to recoup even more money. As usual in Colorado it is a no-loss scenario for those who have a lot of money and spend it on the typical things that keep a rich person rich, like having insurance and being wealthy enough to actually afford the deductible and not worry about monthly rates going up for filing a claim.
Im happy with my 4.0 2006. I bought it for 10 grand
I would buy a 2023 but not after it sat in the sun for that long.
30k off with an extended warranty thrown in ..I'm on that
Eventually they will be wholesaled out at auction and/or sent to Mexico, Central, and South America
I just searched this dealer inventory on 18 October 10:33PM EDT. The Rubicon shown is not the only 2023 - they have 38 other new 2023 Jeeps - Wow.
Damn! 🤦♂️🤣
Wonder what dealership fiancé fee they’re paying on that 2023 wrangler every month ?
I'd rather buy a Jeep 2 yrs used that someone has been driving over a "new" model thats been sitting idle at the dealership for a year and a half maybe even two years.
Stellantis is very stupid in the same way as Harley-Davidson. Trying to go luxury they left the base of their own customers behind. Like some middle aged mom attempting to be a supermodel. You are what you are make peace with it.
"Damn. How much they asking for that pos?"
Ends video.
I am ready to buy a 40k rubicon. Its the only suv i would buy or gladiator. But let it rot for ever at 70k! And the rest of dodge ram cherokee or grand Cherokee. This are body of chassis nightmares to fix coolant issues. And btw the hurricane engines suck!
it's just simple economics the market can I bear that high price .
New Durango with the 6.2 hemi starts at $113,000.... dodge/jeep/ram is cooked.
Good when they come down off there high horse and lower prices and drop interest rates then they can move them
I'm just waiting to buy my Scatpack for 40k instead of almost 80k.
No one wants an EV, especially not a Jeep EV
In my area the used car dealers have a full front row of Wranglers. They are everywhere for sale. "Peak Wrangler" occurred 1-2 years ago. Same thing happened with Bronco buyers. Wranglers are anything but hot. The local CDJR lot is loaded (probably 40 sitting), 2023, 2024, and a few 2022's.
A 2023 will have flat spots on the tires and a dead battery.
I'm waiting for my BYD dealership.
