Dealers got used to the inventory shortages during the pandemic that, when compounded with lockdowns (where people were buying up all the 4x4s to go off roading because it was something to do to get them out of the house) meant they basically could name their price on vehicles. Jeep in particular saw this and said “So people are willing to pay $70k for a rubicon? Interesting” and jacked their prices up (something like 40% between 2020 to 2024). Now here we are. Production is in full swing again, lots of people who got into off roading during the pandemic decided that lifestyle wasn’t for them after all, and they want a vehicle that rides nicer and has more modern features for less. Add in higher interest rates, so people are less likely to finance a ton of money, and vehicles are sitting on lots. We’re seeing supply and demand in action. A couple years ago, supply couldn’t keep up with demand and they raised prices exponentially. Now the supply is far outpacing demand and prices _must_ fall, or the business model will fail. I hope the government doesn’t bail them out. You can’t screw the consumers and expect the government to bail you out when it bites you.

6:02 hailstone damage. This and cracked windshields are EXTREMELY common in Colorado the closer to the mountains you get. the hail damage is both a common sight and a well known insurance write-off. It totals the vehicle in the eyes of the insurance company. You get a check from insurance that typically exceed the value of the vehicle for a new car and (if you can find an insurer) you can keep driving it around or you can sell it off to recoup even more money. "A lot of people are not the smartest." That's what they're counting on.
True tally will be the Harris / Walz votes; how much intelligence left in America.
I bought my first new truck in 2002. It was a left over with an MSRP of $28k. I bought for $22k including tax and title. Even then I would only sign for it with a new battery and a full fluid change. They used to have no issue moving iron at reduced price cause the money was made in parts and service. What happened?
I’ve never liked dodge. Cheap product and they want top dollar. The CEO of Stellantis is collapsing that company that Marchionne saved and built.
Wonder what dealership fiancé fee they’re paying on that 2023 wrangler every month ?
"Damn. How much they asking for that pos?"
Ends video.
selling that car with that hail damage on a lot!? you should make a whole new video with that as the title. that is downright news worthy lol
My heart bleeds for the dealers……the same ones that charged $10,000 “market adjustments”……besides that Chrysler products are garbage.
It is commendable that the dealer lets you walk around filming on their lot, probably knowing that the video will evoke a lot of negative sentiment. There are countries where you'd be at risk walking around making videos with a negative sentiment about life in general.
Stellantis and CDJR dealers are now in the business of running parking lots. Oh well. To each his own. 🍻
Can you do Mazda ?
Those vehicles are not worth it..its not worth the risk.
As usual in Colorado it is a no-loss scenario for those who have a lot of money and spend it on the typical things that keep a rich person rich, like having insurance and being wealthy enough to actually afford the deductible and not worry about monthly rates going up for filing a claim.
One thing that baffles me is that Jeep and Dodge Ram are pure junk man the issues with these vehicles are countless. People maybe are waking up and stopping to buy junk cars?
After the Chinese get a foothold in the US market the big 3 are toast.
You sure about that??? Their vehicles reliability make Kia’s look like a Lexus
@@ryanm4013 people said that about the Japanese, then the Koreans.
BYD is one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world and they are vertically integrated similar to Telsa.
But who started this Henry Ford 100 years ago.
