  • I was not expecting this and I am not complaining! I hope we see more of a trend of price reductions on cars! This will be appreciated by everyone looking for a new SUV.
What do you think of the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer?

As a previous ST owner, the main reason I bought the car was mainly because of the wheels and the high-performance brake package they were the nicest wheels I ever saw on any SUV and they’ve eliminated them for very average looking wheel considering it’s an ST

When I first saw the front end of the Explorer 2020 , I didn’t like it at all. Fast forward to 2024, I can’t even leave my ST behind without looking back at it. This new grille is definitely improved

That pricing has now changed. It is now a couple of thousands higher. $61,935.

Nice video. The biggest problem I have with the new grille is that it looks like an Infiniti QX60 or QX80 at first glance. It’s the same general shape, proportion, and the design of the lower bumper and fog lights especially look like a QX80.

Thanks for watching! Now that you say that I do see some of what your saying about the Infiniti...I still think it looks great!

The 2025 model has even less space than the 2024 model when I was expecting more space in model 25. This is basically a 4 seater vehicle when you have to carry some suitcase or need to carry some other stuff like coolers etc. if you a family of 5 you can't go on vacation, field trip, or beach because you need the rear seat for the fifth person, and you have to carry the luggage and coolers etc. I can bet the Ford Taurse had more space than the Ford Explorer. You can't give a ride to the airport to a family of 4 people with this vehicle, where you put the luggage when a fifth person sitting on the third-row seat. This vehicle might be good if you are single or a couple with no kids. This is not a family vehicle anymore. I own a 2011 Explorer, and I was looking for a replacement and I am very very disappointed.

Good video and good news on the price. The only thing you missed adding to the '25 to get to parity is the door entry keypad for $350. But it's really negligible in the final price. BTW, that's one of my favorite Ford features and they seem to be phasing it out!

Thanks for watching, I agree...I cant believe they are getting rid of the keypad also!

The only difference I noticed was the leather seats available on the older one and this one only offers Active X, which I don't mind and honestly prefer. Only the Platinum now offers the real leather seats.

Interesting, I see pros and cons to each but $6k less for 2025 model is a huge incentive over the 2024 model in the ST.

@@CTECH-REVIEW I agree. Standardizing and cutting options is what Ford is doing to cut cost and prices. The Active trim is a great deal.

I think at some point we will like the look of the 25 better, but that front is booo, ugly. IMO the 2020-2024 ST are a nicer overall look, and far nicer wheels. 2025 colors, & look are all just Blah / boring

It's the Street Pack, which is the wheels and breaks, that the new 2025 is lacking which Ford will probably bring back for the 2026 model year. They want the initial year to be more watered down and gradually build up.
While the price may be lower, Ford will throw out incentives like crazy for the outgoing model. I bought 4 Explorers in just December and January to take advantage of about $7K off MSRP and 0% APR for 60 months. Once the 2025s are out in the dealerships, compare the offers and you'll see that the 2024 will be the cheaper option regardless of MSRP on the website.

I'll believe it when it happens. Now, if only the new Exp would come with a Coyote Gen 4. Also, you can stabilize body roll with better shocks and heavier sway bars.

I enjoyed your video. Were you aware that the standard models of Explorer in both ‘24 and ‘25 have a 3.0 final drive and the STs have a 3.15 lower final drive. That’s why they are more fun and responsive. Also, for ‘25, Ford has remapped the Ford/GM 10 speed for better performance and smoothness. I’m hoping that the remapping is software related and can be applied to earlier models using this transmission. My ‘21 Limited Hybrid is kind of herky jerky.

Let’s wait and see once they are built if the website price adjust….,
And that grill and most of all those stupid wheels, that aren’t even black, are a step back, and in 20 years wich will be remembered as the Typhoon (GMC) of the 2020’s at Barrett Jackson….,
    Certainly not the refreshed….

2:02 - 2:18 - Yeah, yeah, it’s subjective, but you’re on crack for making that statement. No way that 2025 grill area looks better than 2024.
