You know, being i was born in the 70s. I resent the fact I'm an old geezer, but that bronco did bring back memories, Hank lol. God bless you and with your find, guys.
Hank, I realize it's probably too late now but, if you pull those cotter pins and remove the bolt pins, then hit the seat release in the back, the whole seat comes out and leaves the brackets attached.
you cant beat the smiles on their faces its priceless the odometer will change when you change the rear end and you should put the fuel pump on relay and switch power from the ignition switch
@@fordman7502 The point I am wondering about is why the pump has its own switch instead of connecting the pump to the ignition switch. In this configuration, you have to remember to switch it on and absolutely to remember to switch it off. If it were connected to the ignition switch, it would be a no-brainer.
These girls are lucky to have such an awesome grandpa and I love how they are interested in learning about operating machinery and working on vehicles. A great skill to have 👍🏻
You don't need a lift kit on this Bronco. It is perfect as it is. I would simply use the current tires and get wheels with more back spacing. The aluminum 15 inch ones that came on later Broncos are pretty nice for looks and function.
Warms your heart to see the girls working along side their great grandpa! Him helping out with the cleanup holding the trash bag, giggling with a big smile when the girls make their funny comments! ❤ I'll be patient but can't wait for the next one. Papa Ham, I'm thinking you should just haul all the seats over to the upholstery guy and let them all be completed at the same time instead of waiting another few weeks on the one you'd take over after the first two are complete! 😉 Guessing they're in work already by now?
You're one heck of a grandpa! It's not just the truck, but I can see in the twins faces the love and time you give to them which is priceless. I'm hoping to be at least half as good as you are to my grandaughters. Hhm... I have a 1980 Dodge Ramcharger I might just have to keep around as a fun project truck for my grandaughters for when their as old as your girls. God bless!
I noticed that when you returned back home from driving the Bronco with your Granddaughters , you turned the vehicle off and then the fuel pump ! Good, now some info for you , electric fuel pumps are pressure sensitive, the needle and seat in the carburetor will keep it from over flooding ! Now when you turn the vehicle off and you turn off the fuel pump, when you go to restart the vehicle right afterwards, please just crank the engine over without pumping the gas pedal, because you will be adding fuel to fuel vapors already in the cylinders, making it harder to start , it should fire on its own then turn on the fuel pump , you will find it will start easier and use less gas ! Give it a whirl and see how it works !
Hank, I know you love them granddaughters at 15 but we all know that 15-year-old girls or boys either one or not going to remember to turn the switch off or on it be just as easy to wire that switch in on the fuse box on the side of the fuse box which becomes hot when the key comes on this way when they turn the key on to you The fuel pump turns on when you turn the key off the fuel pump shut off because I don’t think they will remember that I really don’t but it looks like a nice build. Look forward to seeing more things done.
Man, the look on their eyes when they saw that bronco good job Hank those girls are lucky to have a Papa Ham like you!! You are making memories They will have a lifetime. Oh almost forgot please install a fuel pump relay on the ignition switch so they don’t have to remember that stupid toggle switch lol

These two girls are awesome. I love that they get excited over the older trucks. A nice lift, and some repairs will make a nice ride for her. Get the fuel system diagnosed and she’s on her way.
Rewire the fuel pump correctly and they (and you) won’t have to worry about it. Also, I would suggest that you have a look at everything they threw in the garbage bag. They were just putting everything in there without regard for what it might be.
You NEED to put a 4 core radiator back in it, being an automatic with A/C and you're moving it closer to the equator. Surprised that it hasn't already grossly overheated.
Glad it’s another classic build. I can’t wait to see that square body!! Get another video out of it soon lol. I’m inpatient 🤣 poppa gonna have to get them a k5 blazer!
Not only is the rear seat easily removed, but so is the tailgate. Just unhook the two straps and raise the tailgate halfway up, then pull the right side of the tailgate toward you and it comes right off.
You girls are spoiled , well you spoil us ha ha love it . This brings back memories , had a buddy with a 1979 Bronco one with a 1985 Bronco and I had a 1978 K5 Blazer loved those 2 door SUVs with the top off . your girls are going to enjoy this vehicle .

It is always a good idea to "drill" into the twins the necessity of slowing down before you make a sharp turn. These Broncos are not unsafe as for as rollovers are concerned if driven properly. This applys to all vehicles with a high center of gravity . Tom in Canada at the NB-NS border.

What you need to do is run the hot wire to the ignition switch from the relay for the fuel pump so that way when you turn the key on the fuel pump will come on and when you turn off the ignition switch the fuel pump will turn off you will need a relay switch as well because a fuel pump will draw to much power on the ignition switch you can look on line on how to huck up a relay switch. That way you or the girls don't have to worry about the gas filling up the engine and destroying the engine
Option 1 which I would prefer is to go back with the manual fuel pump. If I recall that’s what my old bronco around that year model had. I’m thinking he took a short cut with the electric pump and really took a shortcut wiring a toggle switch. If staying electric, wire it to ignition hot and throw the toggle away. While you have seat brackets out (didn’t have to remove rear ones), I would go ahead and order a carpet replacement as you only have to take out center console and some side trim pieces. Check out the tie rods so they don’t have to deal with wobble in future…I would go with a slight level kit and not a lift kit. The speedo is off since he swapped the rear diff to highway gear. Speedo is at tranny and that front diff needs the new seal and put in to match the rear before things get ripped up in the drivetrain. Nothing hard to get her fixed up but you do want to get the correct radiator back in there - auto trans, AC and v8 will need it. The 4core will enable greater volume of water to be cooled. I personally would just get seats and the above done and forget the paint job…just wash and wax her up and treat the rust on tailgate. Those rust once the window seal starts letting water in. Rust treat the inside of tailgate while apart and clean out the drains at bottom or drill some to keep water from standing.
