Just for those who don’t know how X-ray machines work. Even if you stick it I. Socks and shoes and at the bottom of a bag it’s still detectable! Metals show up as a color, organic material show up as another color and so on. You get away because they won’t open every bag with liquid in it. Most security checks on a random basis for example every 20 bags or so. But if it makes you feel more secure then go for it.
Too much of a pain smuggling the liquor and then every time you want a drink you have to walk back to your cabin to make it. Just get the beverage package and don't worry about it, enjoy your cruise.
You didn't mention the cost of a return trip after they get caught and kicked of the ship.. Then they are banned as well. There are cheaper ways to vacation if you want to drink a lot while on vacation..
