I saw Charlie at a festival over the summer and he was nice enough to chat with me before his show. His Mule was getting some modifications so he didn't have it with him that night, but he talked about how much he loved that guitar.

It’s so cool. I’ve heard lots of different renditions of Stagger lee. Love this one. Always love resonators , steel guitar a la Son House , Bukka White even Johnny Winter. My Mom was born in 1925 and played ‘Hawaiian’ guitar as a teen. Growing up there was an old National Steel in our basement. I had no idea as a kid how special it was. When I was 8 my sister sold it and had a custom classical guitar made with the money. Oh well. I play a little bit and it woulda been nice. my only advice is to tune to Open D. have fingerpicks and slide. Do you know cotton/travis picking? if so this will come over time trying at it. sorry i cant offer more atm
