+1 on the "why" of compression, other mixing fundamentals, and also composition and production.
I don't see a lot of people going in depth about release times (it's always attack) or why one would boost or cut a frequency. I'd be interested to hear your take, mainly in a problem solving or creative context

Thank you for letting me know what you’re interested in. I was planning on doing a sort of deep dive on compression.
The “why” with eq frequencies seems to be something that there is a ton of misinformation on and also a lack of helpful information on. Plus it’s something that can really take your tracks to the next level. The generic saying “just use your ears” seems to be the way people get out of explaining things. But if someone’s new and they don’t know what they are “using their ears” to listen for then that piece of advice is useless even though it is good advice.
Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

More instructive videos on compression would, of course, be very welcome. One thing I'd like is something about how to get vocals to sit well within the mix. Admittedly, I tend to try and bury my (lousy) vocals at the best of times, but generally I find they are either completely buried or are way too loud and upfront. Hope you had a great Christmas and all the best for 2024.

Mixcraft is alright. I prefer Reaper on PC (and Logic if using a Mac.)

The thing I struggle with in Logic Pro (and pretty much every DAW I've tried) is mix automation. It seems like a topic people take for granted, but I struggle with it... Just a suggestion for a future topic.

I love this idea. I won’t necessarily be able to help you with the exact “how to” in logic (I’m a PC guy) but I can absolutely show you how to use automation in general which is pretty much the same for most DAWs. Plus explain why and when you might want to use automation. Pretty much every song you work on can benefit from using it and once you get the basic understanding it’s such an easy (but time consuming) thing to do.
This is something that I kind of struggled with too. I was just using it wrong before.
Thank you for the suggestion and for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

@AudioTechTV I also use Waveform and Ableton so "general" tips and how to's would definitely be helpful - THANK YOU!
