Ummm... How do you play a 4OSC synth??? That seems like it should be easy to do but I don't see any play button for it, and you don't explain it...
@@caldercockatoo2234 you can input notes in the MIDI piano roll or use the keyboard or a MIDI controller to play & record live.
Want to put a mashup on it how can I add a song from the downloads to the track?

i am not one to leave positive comments usually, because a certain standard is expected from people with 100k plus subs, but you probably made the best tutorial i ever watched on anything. clear instructions, no mumbo jumbo, no technical chinese nerd talk, just facts, easily understandable. Words can’t describe how easy this was after I watched this video and downloaded some sounds from komplete start(since I have a native instrument midi keyboard) Suprisingly tracktion was WAAAAAAAY easier then cakewalk imo, and I’m really thankful for this channel!!!

One thing about using a qwerty keyboard as midi keyboard, its the quick settings of press this key for this. It overlaps and makes a lot of random things instead of sound. Would be nice to have a video about the technical things that can go wrong and how to fix. Computers never work smoothly for me, so I would personally love it

Honestly, with added DDP creation support and some authoring and editing features... this software has the potential to be an incredible mastering workstation. I’m a big Pyramix and Reaper fan, but would much prefer a leaner tool like this to work on, the layout is so logical.

@@AudioTechTV I am pretty much a beginner using DAWs. For now I only messed a bit with BandLab and GarageBand but they are very limited in some respects.
My objective is composition. I'm used to use things like Musescore to create ideas for tunes but it doesn't allow me to go all the way to an actual track that is listenable and not just a crude MIDI mush.
I tried exporting the scores as MIDI and importing to the DAW but the workflow was horrible. Composing directly in BandLab or GarageBand is very limited though. I haven't found a way to use less standard time signatures or an easy way to use tuplets, for example.
I tried the trial for Ableton Live but whoa... I can't even start in that. It's just too complex for what I need. The other DAWs are just too expensive also.
This video + your video on Waveform Pro 11 convinced me that this is probably a better direction to go. The free version probably has a lot of what I need and the pro version is not that expensive (and the chord track looks like an AWESOME feature).

Your videos explain a lot of the basic concepts and they are more direct and easy to follow than the official tutorials.
Excellent tutorial thank you. I am running into the issue of audio delay when I try recording my guitar. The output is slightly behind the input when I pick a note. I suppose I could be using the time adjust feature incorrectly, but I have tried the max and min adjustments and still experience a delay. I am using Boss Katana driver as midi and Neural DSP soldano as a plugin if that helps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Again, Epic tutorial!!! On top of the question that I asked on the other video regarding the USB mic, I get a basic complete backtrack from our band members and have to record vocals (We live in different cities), how would I do this using this software?

I am going to demo the free version, thank you for posting this. This DAW really interests me and 150 for the pro version is a great price. If I am productive in the free I'm most likely gonna pull the trigger on pro.

I have a u phoria um 2 and using waveform. Your videos helped me greatly in getting started but I have a small issue. I can get sound when I strum but not when I go to play what I recorded back. Do you know what I can do to fix that? Thanks

Thanks for the vid! I have one problem though. I still don't hear any sound nor signal coming from the computer in the 40SC plug in in 7:55. But in 7:27, I do receive some signal. Do you have any idea why this is so?

Thank you just wanted a back up free daw in case Cakewalk becomes a subscription. Since I’m a very beginner producer and mostly just play instruments and needed a Daw for digital arrangements this helps. I’ll figure out mixing and mastering in this Daw later since that was Cakewalks specialty. Anyways thanks for the videos

When I use waveform I record a lot of things direct in. But when I use a live mic I have a latency issue. Vocals and drums are always slightly behind. I go in and manually move these tracks slightly to get the timing right, but how do I correct this issue? Thanks.

I am beginner and I started with cakewalk.
I like it because it's quite easy to get started.
But I have problems with tracks that I made like with kontaks komplete kontrol.
I save the track and when I open it up later it is changed to another instrument.
That's one of the reasons that I am thinking of to change to Waveform11.
So I maybe can get more stability in my work.
Probably I have to go in in some place in Cakewalk.
But it isn't obvious sometimes in the DAW world.

I can't find anything to get this to render properly & can't find any tutoral on this issue..help

onn the video at the point of track 2 i couldnt hear any audio when u were pushing the keyboard keys even u said it yourself but i would like to hear the keys being pused so i can hear what it sounds like before i start recording and put it onto the chart!! For me, opening the properties panel when selecting the MIDI input worked and clicking on the keyboard

Great review and clear delivery. I'm struggling to find the right DAW for me at the moment but this looks good. My thing is that I have no interest in recording audio at the moment, I just want to use a DAW as a sequencer for my midi synths. I've not done any music for ages so want to write a group of songs and perfect them before I even start to think about recording audio. Do you think this would be suitable? Thanks.
*Reaper* - it's cheap, actually unlimited demo period like winrar (unless you actually making money with the soft, you can use it for free),fully customisable, but not really easy to use
*FL studio* (my fav) - easy to use, awesome inbuilt plugins, one-time payment (don't have to pay for the updates)
*Logic Pro X* - I've never used it, but it's what most producers use
If you only wanna run virtual instruments, you could just use the standalone versions (no need for a DAW)

Hi!. Thanks to your tutorials I found out about this great DAW. I am very, very new so this may sound like a dumb question, but is there any way to change the tempo on the free version? I click on the BPM but I am unable to edit it.
First bring up the Menu bar. On the bottom left of the screen there is a button that looks like an arrow pointing up, click this. Select your track (near the top of the screen) and in the bottom right window left click BPM. Then the bottom middle window will show the BPM, click on this and type the value you want. I only started looking at Waveform yesterday and I am sure there is a far easier way to do this that what I have typed above, lol. I am a total newbie to Waveform.
Despite being free, this DAW seems attractive than many proprietary DAWs.

Do you use the blue cat plugins? I have been using t7 but recently bought waveform 10 and i cant get the blue cat plugins to load correctly. Just wondering if you may have experienced this or herd of it.
The only blue cat plugin that I have used very recently is the free amp sim. I had no issues with it loading into Waveform 10. Did you install the 32 bit or 64 bit version of the plugins? If you were using the 32 bit version of T7 and using 32 bit plugins, they won’t load into Waveform as it’s a 64 bit program. Do you get any errors when trying to use them?
@@AudioTechTV They are the 64 bit. No errors and they kinda open but they are just blank. It was a set of free plugins they offer and i used them alot with t7. there is a set of eq , i think a freq. anlalizer, etc. I will have to deleat them and try to redownload them. I wasnt sure if it was waveform 10 or the new windows 10 pc i got.

@@aarondean3035 Try installing the 64 bit VST3 version of the bundle. I just did a test on my system and the VST2 version loaded blank but the VST3 version opens without any issues.
