If only there were more young adults in this world with such maturity, wisdom and passion! Well done. There’s a saying, ‘if you want to something you’ve never had before, you have to do something you’ve never done before.’
Okay, now that I'm done with my misty-eyes after your heartfelt ending, I do need to come back here to comment how moving and inspirational that is. Thank you, Ameer. Truly blown away by your determination and willingness to keep at it. Wow.
Man... i just instantly cried when I saw you beeing selected. thats truly beautiful. The whole energy of the video is. i'm a brazilian producer/musician from Rio. Studied piano too at our local music school downtown and was a great experience to have done it. Berklee must be a once in a life time daydream for musicians. Much love from Brazil. Subscribed
Man I feel like I’m watching an alternate reality where I went to study music instead of animation and absolutely loving it. I don’t regret my decisions up to this point but it just makes me wonder how different things would’ve been for me. Your outro message hits hard for me because even still I’m still playing music on the side and that’s what keeps be going
Those last 2 minutes or so have me crying. Im heading off to college in 2 months and have been regretting my decision and questioning my ability to succeed. Idk why or how I stumbled on this video but I will say it has completely changed my outlook on college, life, and my situation. Thank you so much. This was a work of ART.
Adam!!! He was one of the best teachers I’ve had the privilege of knowing. I didn’t even take his class but would always go down to the music area at Charlestown High and it was always something that kept me motivated. The Jam sessions and the daily talks. Glad to see he’s doing good!!! 🥺
Oh man you got me in all my feels. So much is changed there since I was a student and some things have not changed at all. Walking out of Hynes convention center T station looks exactly like it did 30 years ago. But that cafeteria is not the basement of the 150 building like it was when I was there. That’s freaking luxury. I would love to be 20 years old again and then go back to Berklee. But alas I’ll just have to vicariously live through your videos.
This video has left me in tears, thank you for making this, I am going to be a senior in high school and I am terrified of what is waiting for me after my last year of high school. I have chronic pain and I have never felt like a true musician but I want to get into this school more than anything, and this video has given me the want to try my very best even if I fail. Thank you for making this, also as someone who loved photography and videography, I love all the amazing shots you get.
I wasn't expecting to cry at the ending lol!! I hope to go to Berklee after my current college when I can afford it. This is so inspiring to see and hear, as a fellow piano performance student. Keep it up!
Great video, thanks so much, Ameer! I love seeing what life is like for students who attend Berklee in person. I am enrolled in the Berklee Online degree program -- the online experience is perfect for someone like me who works full-time and is raising a family, but I'd be going full-time as an in-person student in a heartbeat if I could! -- and I love it. It challenges me to no end, I am learning so much, growing a lot as a musician, and I am very, very grateful for the opportunity. So wonderful to see you embrace the full experience and can't wait to hear and see more from you -- really nicely done here!
This was so inspiring and helpful. You give so much joy to your surroundings. Thank you so much for doing this. The ending hit me hard because I am 20 years old and I love music, I wanna live for music and one of my dreams was to get to Berklee at some point. I feel like it's impossible, because although I have very good skills in composition and performance in some instruments, I lack so much theory aspects because I always learned so much better by listening and trying things out on my own, which I am really proud of, but it is true that I lack lots of more theoric skills like solfege (I am TERRIBLE with sheet music) or certain parts of harmony. I'm currently trying to change that and it's slow because It's hard for me to focus, but honestly, if at some point I end up being able to go to berklee with a full scholarship, it would be such a dream come true
This was so great, it got me nostalgic of the two years I just spent there. This is so good for interested students to see as well! Hope I somehow run into you in the berklee area lol!
You have some serious talent man, but I can tell you’re working hard at this stuff too. Your videos are so well made - it’s interesting to see what Berkelee is like! I’m studying music down in NZ, it’s very different. Peace
Awesome video about Berklee! I spent a lot of time around Berklee very actively photographing and filming student recitals and performances. It's been a few years. I miss it. It's a great school. The students, such as yourself, are the real heart of the school. Best of luck to you with your Berklee life and your music career.
thank you for making this vlog! i'm a sophomore in high school right now so it's probably too early for me to be looking at colleges but i've been wanting to see what different schools are like. this video helped me a lot, thank you!
I've also got my sights set high on some pricey schools for drama/theater, so I'm applying to over 50 scholarships a month! So proud of you for making it to Berklee, and I hope you have found happiness :)
Our high school teacher was a Berklee alum and our school's jazz ensemble competed every year at the jazz fest. Actually attending Berklee was a dream of mine as a high school sax player. However, it just wasn't meant to be. Don't get me wrong, I have a great career (in a totally different field) that I love and wouldn't trade for anything. Though, there are some days when I'm sitting back with a coffee while listening to Dexter Gordon on my balcony and I start thinking about what could have been. I'm sure it is an amazing experience just being there with these talented people. That's awesome!! Yeah.. we get what we put in every single day. Cool vid!!
Thank you for this video! I got goosebumps at the end. Music is the only thing that keeps me going in life. I’m working at a job that makes me depressed and which I went to berklee, but I do have an instate scholarship. I just really want to go to school and perfect my music ability and to be able to make a career out of it.
A beautifully made video Ameer! Love being able to follow your journey and story, keep being you and wish you happiness! ❤ Happy lunar new year too HAHA.
Hi Ameer. I began watching your videos back in June, when I was in an ldr. I loved them, they gave me hope for my relationship. He broke things off suddenly, and it hurt so much that, as a result I associated your videos with it and couldn't watch them for months. I'm gonna try again tho. Something about your videos are relaxing, therapeutic almost. All that to say thank you for posting. You're really talented. Have a blessed day
I got emailed about Berklee, idk if it was from them or a random person but I decided to check it out and I'm glad I found this vlog 🙏 I will definitely have this on my list of interest and look into it more (Junior in high school)
Ever since I was around eight years old, I’ve dreamt about going to Juilliard to study music. I understand what you’re saying though about it doesn’t matter where you go it matters how you apply yourself. I’m going to a small private school in Pennsylvania, which has a good music program. I’m going to take your advice And do the best I can even though it’s not perfect. It’s not about perfection. It’s about applying yourself and being the best musician you can be.
I'm going to go for the bass online certificate in 2 years. My son will have graduated college and then I'm going to become the bass player I've always wanted to be. See you soon Berklee!!!!!!!
Waaah I came from your vid of you learning Tagalog and was pleasantly surprised that you're a music student!! I really love music (and even took piano lessons at a young age) but the degree I graduated in is faaaaaar from music (engineering HAHA) which surprised a lot of my friends 'cause they thought I'd def go for a music program. Watching this video made me think that this would probably be how I'd be in an alternate universe 🥺 But as you said, "Berklee won't make you great, only you can" THIS HIT SO HARD thank you 🥺💜 Alsoooo you saying that you're both an artist & a filipino then gesturing to your wrist for the time HAHAHAHAHA #FilipinoTime iykyk 😉 You have earned yourself a new subscriber, kabayan! 😉
Thank you so much for making this video. I’m gonna have my audition and interview in a month and I was terrified for the past week thinking I won’t get a big enough scholarship to get in but this video really really helped me understand a lot of things. So thank you so much for making this🫶🏻🫶🏻
THE CINEMATOGRAPHY, THE ANGLES, THE NARRATION!!! MY LIL CAMEO!!!! LOVED THIS AMEER 😭
ILY ADRIAN!!! ❤️❤️❤️
😊😊😊
Berklee won’t make you great only you can ❤️ that’s powerful.

Your outlook in life shares quite intricately your love for everything you do. Feels great being part of that experience :)
thank you Adam! I appreciate it

Woah, this made me cry. U are so down to earth and sweet. This really changed my perspective. Thank you❤️

As a local artist here in the Philippines, this made me emotional and inspired me to

What a fantastic vlog. The storytelling, I mean, wow. Wasn't expecting such an emotional ending. Loved every bit of it. :)
Not even the first 2 minutes of the video and there is a crazy odd time signature of 39/16… That is the single most Berklee thing ever 😂😂
Bro, your sense of humor and editing skills are really good. Keep going please!)
