Sheila, your videos have helped me become more confident in my dressing. Gradually, over the past several months, I've used your suggestions. I can't believe the difference this has made! I'm 72, and for the first time ever, I feel like I look great! And I'm loving the compliments!
Wow! That's wonderful. I give you the suggestions but it's you who has to put them into action. Congratulations for doing that! If you're getting compliments you're doing it right.
This was great information! I wasn't aware that a hemline or a shoe could be considered horizontal lines. Gave me a lot to think about when putting together outfits. Thank you for this, Sheila!
I’m 5’1” but I’m attracted to horizontal lines: colorful belts including scarves as belts, and contrasting tops/bottoms (black pants with a gingham shirt, for example). And full midi-skirts. All the no-no’s! I need to take a really critical look in the mirror.
Fascinating!!! Very helpful and thought provoking. It makes me more aware of why some of my outfits may be more successful than others. And also why I reach for some of the same garments again and again even though I have so many. And another reason why I like dresses so much. Thank you!
I am really enjoying your videos Sheila. Your tips are so helpful and you explain the topics well. I am happy to be rediscovering my sense of style and interest in clothes now I am in my early retirement years.
Thank you, Sheila- great advice perfectly illustrated. I understand better now, why I am choosing what I am choosing and refraining from other things. Sometimes, I would to go for something special but when I put it on it feels strange, even uncomfortable. I usually just change and now I understand why 😊
You explained these tips really well. Thanks for the great point on how to look slimmer and what to avoid and what to wear. I'll remember those tricks for the next time I'm dressing up. This really made a change in the way I used what to wear and how.
More interesting subjects for me. I never want to look larger. I’ve tried goin to v neck shirts. And if they’re really long I at least do a front tuck so it looks like I have a waist. Which I really don’t have much of one anymore. I’m getting better at keeping a shape. Other than round. I feel like I’m gaining some weight from the medication I have to take. I’m not happy about it. But it’s a must have. So I’m learning to dress my new body. It’s way too hot where I live to think about any kind of jacket. I know summer just started. But I’m about ready for fall. Which will still be warm. I might be able to wear a jacket with a v, I’ll make sure of that. And I have knee high boots to wear with longer skirts and dresses, so I don’t cut my legs off. I’m 5’4” tall. And I would like to look taller and leaner. Not skinny, because that isn’t going to happen. Unless, I go off the medication again. But my body hasn’t gone back to the way it used to be. It does suck to get old in that way. But I’m getting used to dressing my new body. Hide my chubby belly the best I can.
It's frustrating running after an 'ideal' or what used to be, it's better to learn how to dress the body you have and then focus on staying healthy and in shape.
So...does that mean my silk blouses/top are making me look larger? 👀 Your information is so helpful. ☺ Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge with us ❤
I'm happy you liked it. As for the silk blouse, yes, silk is reflective but if it's making you look larger depends on the colour, the cut and how you wear it.
I have two videos about hiding a belly - one is How to Hide a Tummy and the other is How to Slim Your Waistline. Go to my channel's main page and put the titles in the search.
Which line do you use most, vertical or horizontal?
Because I am 5'2", I find that I will avoid both vertical and horizontal lines and go for solids or small prints.

Great video. I would like to see your outfit. I love the pattern.
Thank you! Will do on next video.
Great information on lines and looks and where the eyes will stop. I liked it that you changed your focus from slimmer to looking your best.
For me it's always about looking your best, no matter what your size but there are still lots of women who want to look slimmer.

Very interesting, thanks Sheila. I would like another one where I would want to draw eye to my bust and hips area, I'm rectangle.
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll see what I can do.

Hi vertical is hard to findx
I agree, some styles are hard to find but worth it when you do.
As a 64 year old woman needing a refresh, you have given me an Aha moment. Thank you
I love it!
First time seeing your content 😙😙😙😙😙
Hope you enjoyed it!

I thought/assumed you would address how the seams in clothing function.
I have talked about it in previous videos. There's just so much information, I'm just giving an overview.
Hi I have a bulging stomach how to hide that. Thanks so much
