I didn’t even know that Playmobil made model trains! Since when did they do that? I thought they only made one of those figures. Still, I think it’s a massive W :)
RIGHT?? Nowadays they’re sadly only RC and much cheaper; but this old stock rivals LGB in my opinion 😅

As a collector of playmobil cars (specifically the movie cars) I did find this interesting seeing how I’ve never seen this. I’ve wondered if they made trains and here we are.
I think you should bring it up to LGB scratch, get some lighting onboard and plastic the windows, it could easily fit in quite nicely with the rest of your stock. When I was a kid my dad used to always buy Playmobile track from the toy shop for our LGB sets as it was so much cheaper - despite being exactly the same product!
That train has the most cursed group of passengers ever.

On one hand the stickers complete the set, on the other, it fits the rest of your collection without them. Definitely a tough choice

Cool maintenance rig. Started getting into Playmobil with the RC diesel switcher, and it's been impressing me with what it can do.
Mostly do G outside, so battery power is nice to have so I don't have to deal with all the little niggles of keeping the track cleaned and conductive.
Who would ever think that we would see spongebob, bluey, bingo, and James all in the same video

I have the vintage Playmobil Wild West Train Set. I can tell you that the roof is supposed to come off so you can put the Playmobil people inside the cab, or whatever figures you'd prefer XD
Mh a German Track Maintenance Vehicle. Used mostly on Branch Lines until somewhere around 2000. A very small yet practical train for a size of a "Schienenbus" how we call them (those small, red painted trains that look like a bus, hence the name Railbus). Pretty nice piece.

Really love the Playmobil trains they are some of coolest to me. I've even seen a G.I.Joe customizer take them and recreate the old Tyco Joe train set out them, but in scale with 3 3/4 inch figures and it's one of the coolest customs I've ever seen.
I had no idea playmobil made G scale model trains. FYI LEGO train tracks are slightly wider than O gauge track. It sucks because most LEGO sets are really close to O scale

Do you know that the rear supports are functional and extent! Also on the rear there are two pins. With them you choose where to unload /tilt left or right with one of the levels on each side! ❤

For anyone who wants that Robot SpongeBob, he comes in a 7 pack of figurines from Walmart and when I got it the pack was only $5. I'd check your local Walmarts to see if they have the pack and if not check their online store to see if they have it in stock
If you own a small Canon camera it'll fit in the flatbed wagon I've tested it on a real garden railway it was very cool

Playmobil does carry replacement parts, or so I have heard. Contact Playmobil USA with the set number. Playmobil is really quality stuff! Also the sides and ends of the gondola car are removable, turning it into a flat car. Have fun!
Playmobil carries replacement parts for their most recent sets and whatever they have surplus stock of. Replacing parts on the vintage electric trains usually means buying second hand spares from German dealers on eBay. That gets very expensive very quickly. I once paid $40 for a Steaming Mary headlight.

What a find! So here is my suggestion... since it's already ab it damaged and not technically mint... You could print your own vinyl decal pack (that could be totally removable if you want), maybe 3D print another buffer or see if replacements could be found somehow, and of course weathering is always an option! But I could see you maybe shying away from weathering if you want to keep that original look.
PS: I think the brick studs on the side behind the crane are for the figures to stand on? Also loving the fun you're having with the figures! I know exactly what episode that old Spongebot figure is from too! Where Krabs gambles Spongebob away to work at the Chum Bucket, and they end up singing a ballad to each other. Classic~
