She knew the Nazis would come back and clean out the hiding place so she is the one who saved Anne’s diary. She also saved their lives by bringing them food daily while they were in hiding.
I have also watched Miep's interview not only here on UA-cam but long before UA-cam or the internet ever existed. I remember watching it after being assigned to read her diary in 8th grade History class back in 1985. Otto was given her diary and other writings when they learned of her death. Her and her sister still lie in a mass grave at Burken-Belson concentration camp. It would be nice if their remains could be found by DNA testing and brought back to be buried beside their parents.
Their hiding place was 3 floors. I'm surprised that it took the Germans as long as it did to find them. I thought the Germans searched the place a few times. It must of been by the grace of God that they did not look for the 3 upper floors.

Yes, Miep kept Anne franks diary so when after the war was over she could give it to her. She knew how much the diary meant to her so she obviously kept it with her, but sadly nobody except Otto made it alive after the war.

Anne also changed the names of people in the book to protect them, She was inspired by a radio broadcast that urged Dutch citizens to keep journals during the war. All the names of the helpers were changed also.
True. At one point in the book, Anne mentioned that the owner sold that building without telling the employees in it so when the new owner came to inspect, everyone in the secret annex got quite a scare.

I very much doubt this. Why should the Van Pels or Van Daan family (as referred to in Anne's diary) have said too much in order to endanger the others? They were all discovered at the same time and would have all been in the same situation - being round up and sent to Auschwitz.
I visited the Anne Frank house whilst on a long weekend trip which was organised by a group of works colleagues (British Rail) back in 1980. I was extremely moved by the whole thing. I read her diary when I was 15 years old. One thing puzzles me. The other family in the secret annexe were referred to in her diary as being the Van Daan family, but in the video they were called the Van Pels family. Is this a mistake?
