I went to the Anne Frank house back when I visited Europe and it was surreal. Seeing the actual house and I read Anne's dairy and it was surreal. She died with her sister Margot and I only wished Anne Frank was alive. Otto Frank and Meip Giles kept her legacy alive. RIP Anne Frank you were a brave girl. I loved Holland Amsterdam it was the coolest place in the world. I would love to live there forever.

      Miep, not Meip.
It was more Otto thank Miep.
Miep had every intention of returning the diary, unread, to Anne when Anne came back.
It was Otto who, after encouragement from friends and family, sought publication.
Miep said that Otto had to really pester her to read the diary.
She finally did, one day when she was completely alone.
She said she laughed and cried from all the memories.

That is not correct. She is captured 4th of August of 1944, and die in the concentration camp in march of 1945. So many months of terror and suffering, including a cold winter, before she died are not included in the diary.

They in fact did it. They removed some of the parts and even manipulated some. It's cos it she hadn't wrote it for publication purpose and it'd topics related to sex, menstruation, lovers (teenage lovers and a that). And that most important it's written in Dutch. So it's purely changed as not everything can be exactly translated

@@harbinger3371 not manipulated as much as edited.
      Manipulated means changing what happened.
      Otto didn’t do that.
He removed references to her sexuality, unkind things she said about her mother.
And one kiss does not make lovers.
And I’m sure he was very careful to retain, as much as possible, context when translating from Dutch to English.
