Welcome to TheDriveGuyde! This is a new channel aspiring to create quality car reviews for the Canadian car market.
Honda sent the all-new Accord Touring for me to review, and I am truly blown away by this car. The 10th-generation Accord was introduced for the 2018 model year to go head-to-head with the all new Toyota Camry and other rivals such as the Kia Optima, Nissan Altima, Mazda6, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Impala, VW Passat, and Hyundai Sonata.
With all the available technology, superb build quality and a refined drivetrain, it begs the question of what more you could want out of a car. Simply put: This is car is very impressive.

Speak for yourself because I absolutely admire the looks of this car. I turn my head literally every time I see one, especially at night
I turn my head as well.
To keep my food down in my stomach
Me three
As a 8th Gen accord owner, I hated the way the new accord looks when it came out, but I think it really grew on me since my last test drive. I went to the dealership and test drove the car (1.5 touring) last weekend and I was impressed by the way it handles and they way the power is delivered. GREAT interior design, specious back seats and has all the techs I need and don’t need. Looking forward to test drive the 2.0t once it’s available
i just got my Accord 1.5 couple of weeks ago. i am very impressed , it rides extremely good. hard to believe that is only a 1.5 engine under the hood
How's it holding up?
Bought mine Feb 8,2018.. car is holding up nicely.. still very comfortable ride, and its quiet so quiet I ask my self at times if it's a Honda am driving.. the 1.5 turbo is so gas efficient specially on economy mode. and step on it for a kick boost, has its lil take off. Rides, drives and turns 10++. Recomeded.
How did it do in the snow over the winter? Any trouble with traction?
The looks to me are stunning, it’s competition looks bland in my opinion and you won’t see Accords used for rentals in the USA. I bought the 2020 Accord Touring 2.0t with 10 speed automatic and I’m still impressed with its performance.
It look great on the snow!
Like that honder accord lol
Alfredo Damian stop being rude and making fun of people’s accent
Best looking Honda yet. I'm getting the white sport this week
I'm waiting now to get past the winter storm. No sense getting car when you can't wash it because of the salt Grime and dirt on the road during the winter months. I'm saving to get the touring model with 2.0 engine
We have the 2020 Touring and the 10-speed shifter is now push buttons, and here in the States, the heated steering wheel is a $600 option (we passed on it). So far, it's a great car, much more comfortable than the 2017 Regal that we drove before.
Cool that you filmed that in Canmore. That is where I was born and grew up.
I just bought one, it's just a really good car and you can feel the quality just by driving it. Really enjoy the car
The only thing that's making me second guess getting the Accord is the rear. I wish it had a traditional sedan look.
Nice review ! I love your presentation !
Thanks for your kind words!
Honder Accode
🤣
I would go for the 2 liter (no replacement for displacement) and no CVT (a deal killer for me).
Nice... I am glad I finally found a decent Canadian review
The accent, the snow the mountains --- beautiful Forget the car..
I'm considering buying a car in this segment this year. I have to say I like everything about the Accord except for a few things.
I really don't like the "fastback" styling. I prefer a more muscular rear end on a sedan, and maybe more importantly I prefer that if I am driving male coworkers or friends to lunch, that my taller passengers can be comfortable sitting any place in the car. That's sort of the point of owning a sedan.
Otherwise, it seems like a very luxurious car for the price point, and enough power to pass and get up to speed, all with respectable fuel mileage. Can't really complain about the total package, which is probably why no reviewer IS complaining about the total package.
I like this accord as well and I leased 2021 sport 2.0T. This will be my first winter with this accord. I have heard its not good at all in snow! Any thoughts? I know its bad in rain for sure. I am looking for winter tires right now. And they are so expensive!! any thoughts?
Great review brother. Good luck with your channel.
The best car I ever owned was a 1986 Honda Accord 5-speed manual with pop-up headlights. So I just purchased a 2019. Love it! But how in the world, with its high-pressure fuel injectors, turbo, CVT, and all the electronic gadgets, can it ever last as long and be as reliable as my old Honda?
Now most manufacturers especially the established ones are not paying attention to their legendary car line ups and are just tweaking here and there launching almost the same car without solving previous generation problems and Absolutely non reliable vehicles after their first two years even with good care. Electrical problems are becoming very common. These days you can't buy any car without having to face problems in near future after purchase like in yester years when you had reliability. And all this because of customers are changing vehicles every few years. Living a lease life, credit life, rather than having to care about the quality of what they are getting for the price they are paying.
Car industry is producing use and throw cars.
@@nyongyon3328, Thank you for that reply. I fear you are hitting the reality nail right on its head with that one.
Honda accord is a very nice car. I have my favorites and Honda accord is one of them.
Forget the car, nice neighbourhood! Damn man - I'm envious.
I have an Accord as well, although no stability/traction control. This is wetting my appetite to upgrade.
Great review....please give us some more feedback on winter performance with the stock low profile 19" tires please. Thx.
+Kevin Harbeson the winter tires fitted were from blizzak: 235/40/19R. They responded very well in the snowstorms I had this week. Never experienced any drama
Very disappointed that Honda put these sport tires on the Touring. It is fine on the Sport. Being from New England, if I purchased this car, I would have to outlay another $1200 for 4 Blizzaks (checked with Tire Rack) plus have to deal with switchovers twice a year. And the standard Michelins don't have a great rating - I would be surprised if they lasted 30,000 miles. This all adds up. I was so excited about this new car but really have doubts now, all due to these wheels/tire size.
I agree - it's an added expense that shouldn't be necessary, when you're already forking over a good amount. But maybe if you keep the car for 10+ years it may be a moot point.
@@maxlandireviews Thank you! Your review did help in my purchase of the 2018 Touring 1.5T in Toronto a few days back. Given my first winter here, I am skeptical on the need to install winter treads. I don't intend to drive during snow season except while running errands. Thoughts? Thanks Again!
My winter seasons in Alberta are likely substantially different to yours. My winters will consist of average -20C and a few inches of snowfall a week so winter tires a must have in my part of the world. I’ll always recommend buying winter tires but I don’t know what your roads and weather are like this time of year
Great review. Please do a infotainment review. Thumbs up
Good review! This looks like in western Canada, but you have a British accent? Or is it how some western Canadian speaks?
Thank you for the review. Was the car fitted with winter tires? If so, did you notice any major challenges going uphill from a complete stop?
+Karim Vassanji it was fitted with 235/40 winter tires on its 19in rims from Blizzak. Slight flickering of the traction control light, no drama though
TheDriveGuyde awesome. Thank you for the reply. Keep up the good work. And maybe take the 2.0 over the same weather just for comparison. Cheers
Great review, And I appreciate you test driving the cars in different situations. Going forward, could you also comment on the car highway interior noise? I want a quiet car and it’s really hard to find one that’s not a luxury car. Other reviewers have commented the new accord interior noise has improved from being the class worst to only class average. This is disappointing considering Honda has made such a big fuss about the interior noise improvement. I had expected it to be class leading.
+wasabi9111 I haven’t driven many of its competitors, but I can tell you that the interior noise is remarkable at highway speed. I’ll have to drive more of the competition to determine where the accord stands, but overall, I think you’ll be happy.
It's pretty much quieter than everything except the mazda 6.
Oh yeah, I'm jealous--I'd love to be skiing right now after watching this video.
My main concern is how do it drive in the snow?
This is a great car. It looks super cool in black and white colors.
They need to make a coupe!
They did & no one bought it...
Great review. Snow! Where did you find the white stuff in Ontario already?
If live in Southern Alberta, but the car is registered in Ontario as the HQ for Honda/Acura is located there! Have a look at my other videos to see the mountain ranges
Very good review.
Decided not to get because of the conditions in this vid. No awd offered and i wanted that as a feature for my next car. Been driving a 2wd but in snow i get nervous. Cant believe no awd
I'm 5'9" and would generally appreciate more thigh support as well
Was this on oem tires or winter tires?
Winters
I think the design is awesome
High praise for the Accord. I like it too. But I'm leaning more towards the Mazda 6. I'm not really in a rush. I don't need a car for maybe another 2 or 3 years
Good plan, besides by the time you'll be ready to purchase - this 10th generation Accord initial kinks may be worked out, as well as the Mazda 6. Never a horrible thing to wait it out.
I see mountains and Rockies..
Is that Ontario ? Or Alberta ?
Bow valley Alberta
i got one, its good!
How did it drive in the snow? I’m considering buying a new Accord, but I’m hesitant because I’m used to 4wd.
Had this during a snowstorm, absolutely no worries during my weeks time with it
Is it safe to drive the fwd accord in this kind of hard snow situation...??
Had it during a snowstorm, zero complaints
the sloping rear roof makes no sense at all....I much prefer the upright squared off treditional roofline.
how is it like on snowy conditions?
Performed very well. During that week, there was a sustainable snowstorm too
TheDriveGuyde Nice nice.. Considering trading my suv for it, did you have winter tires when you did this?
This accord has the winter blizzacks if I remember correctly
My love for Honda has really diminished over the years with the new aesthetic approach. Like come on, who the hell is designing these things and getting away with the front and rear end looking like that?
I thought these new Accords were so ehhh but I went to the dealership and saw one in person and wow it looks 1000 times better in person
In United States If you want to get a red Honda accord it comes with Ivory leather interior as a default! how come yours is black leather??? I would love to buy it red with black leather interior but that is not an option here is USA :( for that I need to get the sport trim which has a black interior but is a combination of cloth and leather which is very disappointing.
I want one.
A twisty?
How does this car handle in the snow?
Very well, had it during a proper snowstorm
@@maxlandireviews Thank you
I don't like the fastback profile. The front and back are handsome.
Omg I love ❤️ it! And I like the driver too 😂
Back end is completely ugly.how do you mess that up honda? Also just has an extremely cheap look to it
Does it have all wheel drive???
I’m in Edmonton. Looks like you’re not too far from me lol
Not far at all!
What are the twistees? 6:13
Fun roads
Heated seats are not standard ..neither are heated mirrors
ftw65911 In Canada they are
hows to drive it in snow
It looks a lot like the civic and the it looks like the Chevy impala I don’t know what Honda was thinking.
Alfredo Damian it's ugly AF
freshout.today/2018-honda-accord-ugly-duckling/#comments
how much is this, bro?
Was at Honda dealer last night this car looked great however it was not very comfortable to get in and out of the back seat, it also felt lower. So I bought 2017 accord Ex-l hybrid lol the 2018 and 2017 are great but the 2017 looks better in my opinion.
You are just a cheapo...what driver is concerned whats its like to get in and out of a midsize sedan? Are you a taxi driver?
well it is his car and body..
@@beatsByZlaja definitely an Uber driver
There's alot of stuff already inside the front grill. LOL
Alberta or BC ?
Alberta!
great but too long for city parking
The sloping rear roof looks like Audi
That model has a 10 speed auto, not a cvt.
The 1.5 has a cvt. Only the 2.0T model has the 10 speed auto
Civic LX is the new accord!
I'll take the guy, I've already got the car =)
Oh yeah, touring option.
The profile looks like an Audi A7, which is pretty nice looking. I don't like the big chrome thing on front. Everyone knows what happens to come plastic in 2 years... crap. fade, crack/peel
** chrome plastic.... damn spell check.
Looks better than the VW and rival the Audi. The Camry looks too techno and not organic
The rear head room is poor though, when you sat at the back your head scraped the ceiling. That's as a result of the sloping roof line design and high rear seating position. I like that it has a lot of options like heated rear seats at the back though. Don't think that's an option available on the Camry. I still prefer the Camry XSE v6 though, the interior design is better and more luxurious. One would think from your comment the Accord is the best seller in this segment in North America or elsewhere, the Camry is still the highest selling car in this segment and there's a reason for that.
Samson Okoro well he’s 6 foot 4 and his head was just barely touching, and the Camry sells more because rental car companies and taxi companies buy them, Honda doesn’t do fleet sales. The Accord sells more private sales. The interior is subjective, personally I think the dash of the new Camry is busy and the infotainment in the accord is far better. However I do like the V6 and pano sunroof in the Camry.
John Frantz does it matter why they sell more really? Globally the camry is in a different league. I live in Africa and I can tell u that in my country Nigeria and other parts of Africa there are far more brand new camry's sold both retail and otherwise than Accords. For every new model accord I see daily I see like 4 camry's it's that wide in other parts of the world.
He is 6 foot 4 inch tall, an average person will have plenty of room.
only if you add fleet sales :)
if you subtract the fleet sales (it doesn't really count because they sell it at such cheap prices) and only qualify the consumer then the accord is number 1
Samson Okoro Wrong. New Accord has more headroom, shoulder room and legroom than last generation, which was already class-leading in the mid size segment.
You'd be happier in an SUV or the Toyota Avalon, which is a great full size alternative, Lexus quality without the price and unanswered by Honda
i love honda accord interior and space is better than carmy. it's okay carmy's good out but inside terrible interior. i love accord :D
This Hondrrr Accord
Chrome unibrow 😆
I agree 100% with your view of the Accord styling. I don't think either Honda or Toyota know how to design good looking cars anymore. They lost when it comes to looks.
I want to live where you live. Where is that?
All shot in the Bow Valley (Banff and Canmore), Alberta, Canada
Beautiful! Great video as well.
ميه ميه يامدير
It kinda looks like a hatchback
The Camry is likely more reliable long term (non turbo, port injected).
10tenman10 lol.. how’s the pipe leak going?
1.5 is toooo damn small
Honder Accord 😁
Honder
If accord went AWD rip Acura
You realize they are the same company right? I don't think Honda would do that to themselves.
The front of the car looks awful...
ugly design but great driving experience. Its the same as the ugly camry. Maybe in 4 years when a new design comes out, Honda will hit a home run..
bb65346 Yeah I'll go with the fusion or Mazda 6 ,both or which are at least as reliable as this but they both look alot better imo.
Older accord model looked better.
New XSE Camry looks better
Toyota4Life your on drugs
SixSpeedSociety nope it’s ugly. Rather have the older V6 model or the new V6 Camry with 301 hp
Toyota4Life if your a traditionalist and can’t let go of the past sure! You’d have to be ok with getting walked by a 4 cylinder though.
SixSpeedSociety anyone that has driven and own a V6 car knows no 4 cly can replace the feeling you get from a NA V6.
Scram Toyo-Taxi for Life.
:47 Hahaha
Honda paint quality sucks though
honder accowd
HONDR!
feckin' automatic. ................. Shite! Get the 2.0T Sport 6 speed and it also has nicer 19" wheels.
It's ugly is what it is lol
Why do you say honder accord? Lol
Honder >Honda ?
Wish he could say “Honda” and not “honder”
Rockmonkey17 slowly pull your tampon out.
Looks like a civic. Poops on it.
They’re ugly as hell. Honda designs are garbage anymore. The new Camry XSE is sexy. I HATE the fast back design. It looks hideous.
Cayden Michael the new camry looks like an ugly piece of trash
Must have lousy brakes.. I see you were in a front end collision.. LMAO.. kidding of course...I test drove this car.. lousy all around.. flat front end looks like it was in an accident, rear has a touch of civic and chevy malibu, side looks like a sonata / audi.. rides on a civic platform.. so to me its just a bloated civic.. civic is actually better designed inside and out.. I have a 2016 touring.. looks better, rides better, quieter, more power on my V6, fuel economy is fantastic.. I average 21 city, 29 city hwy and 40 plus on long trips... The dash display is an eye sore on new model.. anyhow I'll be keeping mine for some time..
V6 manual? V6 auto? 2 liter in a car that size is a joke turbo or not. Ugly. My 16 touring would kick its ass. Unfortunately I couldn't get the coupe so was stuck with an automatic in the 4 door. But at least it's A REAL automatic. CVT is garbage just pure garbage
its pure garbage was what i thought but after racing up hill against a 2liter 10 speed auto my opinion totally changed absolutely no loss of power that puppy crushed the 10 speed by 2 seconds
What are you talking about? The 2.0T spanks the older v6 every single time. Watch the drag race by sofyan
I wouldn't dare be caught behind the wheel of this ugly osteoporosis car. its hideous. My V6 coupe is SEXIER all around! But my XSE V6 Shames both! Hands down! Loving this red interior
You must be blind...its gorgeous.
out of curiosity have you test driven the accord? it handles and feels much better than the xse v6 imo.
Lol the Camry looks like it's made for geriatric peolple driving it. Camry tries so hard and never meets Honda expectations.
2 different customers I think .
I drove a Camry for awhile but am in an Accord now.
Maybe when I'm old/gray I'll be back in a Camry for a more relaxed, cushion ride.
