LOL. I think Rylee reaction was perfectly normal. Here is a girl who's parents are constantly changing things (even though EVERYTHING they do is goregeous) it is her "normal". Not to mention as you explained she DID have some creative control so the end result is not a "complete" surprise. Also after having 2 kids I think we can all agree some kids are more excitable than others. The room is beyond gorgeous and I'm SURE Rylee KNOWS she is beyond blessed that she has parents that can pull this off. Whoever her college roommate is will be beyond thankful that you and Dean are her parents!
Funny, when I think back and how my parents let me pick out the paint color for my room, took me to buy the paint and then taught me how to prep and paint walls. I learned how to wash the walls, remove light switch and outlet covers, cut in the trim, cover the flooring and furniture, and properly use a paint roller. I am still grateful that instead of choosing and doing for me, my parents instead taught me how to make choices for myself as well as many valuable independent living skills. I was so proud of that room! I even made a macrame plant hanger, repotted a spider plant and hung it up and several pictures up♥️.
To make it easier for you, leave the wallpaper roll on the floor and then pull the wallpaper up. Fit the pattern and fasten the wallpaper and then cut away the excess. That's how we do it in Sweden 😅

I love it. It’s definitely more grown up, more sophisticated. A fitting room for a young lady. But it’s still sweet and pretty and soft so it bridges childhood to adolescence perfectly.

When using pattern paper to match the pattern use 2 rolls cutting from each roll in turn. I prefer to paint wires the same colour as he walls so it blends in better. Love the wallpaper and bedding bedroom is beautiful.

Her room turned out great!! My daughter chose a lot in her room, but the curtains were her compromise to what I could make. But once they were up, she really did like them, and she really didn't seem to know what she actually wanted. She was 13, and I reminded her if she had something else she liked, we could change them. It was fun doing it!

It’s traditional to assure that the wallpaper is straight. To do this one holds a 3’ level vertically and then draw a pencil line along the edge of the level. Then you hang the first wallpaper strip aligned with the pencil line. If you don’t do this and the walls aren’t square, you will have crooked paper in the long run. Also for inside corners, I run the paper about 1/2” onto the next wall and then take the next wallpaper strip and put the vertical edge on top of the 1/2”. Then when the wallpaper dries it it won’t pull away from the wall. Your room looks so great! I love the brown furniture and frames-they warm up the room.
She said that she already checked and knew that the right side corner at the bed was a straight vertical. I've always used a plumb line though. No walls or ceilings straight in my house😮😅.
I love the wall treatment, upper wall paper and lower boards. The room actually looks bigger. Everything works so well together, nice selections.

When I’ve had paper installed the paper hanger put the paste on the paper, let it rest for a few minutes before hanging it. And that’s how we’ve done it as well. The paper does look beautiful, you are really a DIY wife!

I love the soft feminine look of the room. I remember when it was time to let go of the soft baby pink of my only daughter’s room, and let her choose the new color. Well, she wanted a dark gray! I hated it but it was HER bedroom and figured it would only be that way for a few years. We ended up finding the perfect house to downsize to without really expecting to but had to list our home quickly, and I didn’t have time to change it to a lighter color. Well, guess what? Our home sold in three days, and the new owners kept that color and changed all the other bedrooms colors! They loved that dark gray room!
Look forward to the next videos of the bathroom and all. You all seem pretty calm about that water mess and damage, but c’est la vie! When life hands you lemons… and now you have a lot of new content 🤪💕😁

Funny, this channel and my 3 other favorites, I ALWAYS like immediately just bc well, I KNOW I’m going to like it. I always hang the wallpaper and line upp the pattern first and then i cut it. It so much easier then cut first and then hang. Just a small tip 😊 Love to see your videos 👍
