    Blake Vackar's got a new living room folks. Because traditional projector placement was a big challenge for his new space, Sony came to the rescue with their new Sony GTZ1 ultra short throw 4K projector with 2000 lumens and Blue laser Phosphor technology. This projector is a perfect match for our 5 Series Short Throw (ST) screen which accepts projection from ultra show throw projectors that can be placed nearly up against the wall, saving space and installation headaches.

      +beaverwhiffer27 Yep the Sony unit might be out of the ballpark for some people.. BUT - do checkout Vivitek, Epson, Wolf, LG, and many others who now have units that start out at around $1000. You're talking about a massive image, without a massive footprint, and a tiny fraction of what a flat-panel would cost.

    Thanks for the video! We're looking for a big-screen to use in our video studio. We need something that is silent like a TV is. Is this or do you know of any short throw projectors that are silent?

    • @screeninnovations
      @screeninnovations  7 років тому

      Thank you! You mean silent regarding the sound output (fan noise etc.) from the projector? There are a rapidly growing list of projectors that are coming available and being introduced to the market. The answer to that question largely depends on a few factors: your budget, how bright of an image you need, resolution, noise output, and others.

    • @blackburst1
      @blackburst1 7 років тому

      Screen Innovations thanks and let me say I was completely unaware of your screen tech and it looks amazing. I'm looking for a 1080p projector than can fill an 80-90 inch screen and be as bright as a typical flat screen TV. And yes the silent requirement is no fan noise. Any thoughts?

    • @screeninnovations
      @screeninnovations  7 років тому

      Blackburst Entertainment Oh, boy there are so many. There are many you can look at Sim2, Sony (obviously), Vivitek, and even LG has a nice short throw projector with lots of connectivity. Are you talking with one of our dealers yet? They will be able to educate you really well on what's out there.

      +Shaquille Farrington Yes it has multiple HDMI inputs. Pricing for the sony projector is around $50k, but there are options which are more residential friendly such as Vivitek, or Epson which are closer to $1500 - $2000 price range. For pricing on the screen, please contact your local SI authorized dealer.

      Our screen rejects the ambient light, making contrast ratios 900% better than a matte white screen. Sony's projector is the only one that has a true 4k sensor, and is ultra short throw projector, with a laser light source.

    • @screeninnovations
      @screeninnovations  7 років тому +1

      Those are complex details coming down to lots of different variables such as screen size, projector output, technology, and screen gain. Safe to say though that we match and many times exceed the output of flat panel brightness.

    How can I use a 2.35:1 Black Diamond Screen with a short throw projector like this one? I was thinking about using a Panamorph lens but I don't imagine it would work on an ST.

    • @screeninnovations
      @screeninnovations  8 років тому

      +Quintin Spina This screen is suited for short throw projectors only. We suggest at least a 1.5x throw on your projector lens to work properly with our Black Diamond screens. If you would like some more information on Panamorph lenses, we actually have two former Panamorph employees on our sales staff who would be happy to discuss that with you, or direct you to your local dealer.

    Thats a lot of money for a room killer. It is right in the middle of the floor. Just does not go, I found it funny when he said you do not have to worry about walking in front of a light source and literally as he said that he is walking around the giant box in the middle of the walk way. Maybe if someone could integrate this into a nice credenza and not have it stick out like a sore thumb, I know for one my wife would never sign off on this for aesthetics purpose.

    • @screeninnovations
      @screeninnovations  7 років тому +1

      Funny you mention it, their new version which is smaller and brighter (see here: ua-cam.com/video/BWwuquXnW5A/v-deo.html) has been integrated by many cabinet makers such as Salamander and others. Most people have AV cabinets under their TV's anyway so it makes good sense.

    • @Tnutt19
      @Tnutt19 7 років тому

      That is a good start in the right direction, it does not look half bad on that little table it is on but I think they could do better at that price point. It could be fully integrated into a nice credenza where all you see is the credenza, then you just would not put anything over the throw lens. Couple that with one of your screens and bam, you have your self a viable product for that market. All they would have to do though really is be connected with a couple of high end custom furniture companies and make it available for the clientele to custom make theirs. I think that would make this idea pop!

    • @screeninnovations
      @screeninnovations  7 років тому

      +Rutger+ Sony's projector is currently listed for retail ~$50k. If you combo this projector and our screen, flat panel is more than double that price at this size. While this combo may not be in everyone's wheelhouse, there are some much more affordable ultra short throw projector options out there, and two piece projection is drastically less expensive with standard throw projectors combined with screens such as our Black Diamond technology. www.screeninnovations.com/materials/ambient-materials/black-diamond/
