Blake Vackar's got a new living room folks. Because traditional projector placement was a big challenge for his new space, Sony came to the rescue with their new Sony GTZ1 ultra short throw 4K projector with 2000 lumens and Blue laser Phosphor technology. This projector is a perfect match for our 5 Series Short Throw (ST) screen which accepts projection from ultra show throw projectors that can be placed nearly up against the wall, saving space and installation headaches.

Looks like a giant PS2
+benwoo Haha!!! I was about to say the same thing!
Beautiful home and fantastic Projection Screen ! :) Just love it.
Very impressive chaps. Lovely home too, wow...
loving the mx vid! nice work
That is astonishing!
Thats massive
This is a behemoth. In a couple of years, we'll be chuckling at this like we do the the old CRT's and vintage IBM's w/ floppy drives. :)
Ha, yes same as all technology. Remember when your phone had buttons? :)
sony needs to make these with bundled ps4 inside
Would love to see a room setup /equipment vid or post by Blake. I think I also fell in love with his room!!!
That amblight-ish thing can be turned off or transform it into proper Ambilight full dynamics?, how does the laser projector works compared to LED DLP`s on that type of screen?
yess goooddd evolution and tecnologie
this is awesome but it's like having a Volkswagen parked in the living room
Please can you explaine the lighting behinde the screene ?
where's the amp/receiver located?
what kind of board is it? is this neccesary? or u can use only 4k projector?
Is there a special screen required for laser projection?
that's is so amazing
I love watching this stuff that I'll never afford
No one can beat sony
no one can buy sony
Ankit Sen So True
SONY the best
Ankit Sen actually Epson is better than Sony!
very nice
will be upgrading soon
Great projection room. All those windows. Jeez
does it really look that good with sunlight pouring in like it is in this video? Almost looks edited it looks so good, like you put the screen in later
damn thats a big box. Big box + tech equals big $$ I'm scared to ask how much that beast would cost esp since I heard him say the key words Sony,4K,and Laser lol
This does look pretty neat, I would love to have that in my home. I didn't hear any prices so... Yeah that means it's out of most ppls league, but hey, feel free to donate one my way. ; )
+beaverwhiffer27 Yep the Sony unit might be out of the ballpark for some people.. BUT - do checkout Vivitek, Epson, Wolf, LG, and many others who now have units that start out at around $1000. You're talking about a massive image, without a massive footprint, and a tiny fraction of what a flat-panel would cost.
Screen Innovations
Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I will definitely look at my options. Good Luck to you all over at SI.
Hi Marshal, you can use our dealer locator to find your nearest SI dealer: dash.screeninnovations.com/dealerlocatormap
many of our dealers also carry Sony products. Thank you!
So it needs to be on the floor?
Nice home 😉
Hello, I like your channel! What projector would you recommend for a medium to small sized outdoor projection for say weddings or backyard gatherings in a commercial environment? I'm doing some research currently and would value your opinion. Thx
John Brown any projector which has over 4000lumens output. Checkout projector central.com
I am looking for the best technology and product for 1080p exclusivelly for GAMING. Anyone have suggestiong?
i'll wait for the 8k in 10 years
thats awesome but probably more than i want to spend. also wouldnt work for my room. but i had no idea they made them where you can place them that close.
Now add some blackout blinds and it'd actually be a good cinema room.
recommend for apartments model
Dear SI ,, Have you tried the DELL 4K LASER S718QL on your screen yet ? if yes, which material would you recommend using ? I am looking to get the SOLO Pro + the DELL 4K laser soon, how do you think it compares with the SONY LASER short throw ( I really like the DELL spec due to its brightness, ) thank you for your advice.
Dell makes a fantastic ultra short throw projector that they showed at InfoComm this year paired with our screen. We highly recommend it. Thanks!
Waw so nice I like it 👌👏😍
Cool
how much did that thing cost?
whats the music playing in the video?
awesome track!
gretz from Austria
How about gaming and input lag
Your screen isn't level. There's a drop of a few mm on the right.
Lovely equipment, and a beautiful house. Loved the setup!
I have heard a lot about laser projectors and their ability to deal with colours.
Is the picture quality of Sony Laser project that good. Do the colours pop as much as the claims that are being made.
Thanks for the video! We're looking for a big-screen to use in our video studio. We need something that is silent like a TV is. Is this or do you know of any short throw projectors that are silent?
Thank you! You mean silent regarding the sound output (fan noise etc.) from the projector? There are a rapidly growing list of projectors that are coming available and being introduced to the market. The answer to that question largely depends on a few factors: your budget, how bright of an image you need, resolution, noise output, and others.
Screen Innovations thanks and let me say I was completely unaware of your screen tech and it looks amazing. I'm looking for a 1080p projector than can fill an 80-90 inch screen and be as bright as a typical flat screen TV. And yes the silent requirement is no fan noise. Any thoughts?
Blackburst Entertainment Oh, boy there are so many. There are many you can look at Sim2, Sony (obviously), Vivitek, and even LG has a nice short throw projector with lots of connectivity. Are you talking with one of our dealers yet? They will be able to educate you really well on what's out there.
Its huge. Not talking bout the screen
Oh wow does it plays games such as ps4 and can a cable box be hook up to it?? I want it for a bedroom to mainly play my game ?? Any help price cost ??
+Shaquille Farrington Yes it has multiple HDMI inputs. Pricing for the sony projector is around $50k, but there are options which are more residential friendly such as Vivitek, or Epson which are closer to $1500 - $2000 price range. For pricing on the screen, please contact your local SI authorized dealer.
Whats the refresh rate on this sucker?
Check our SI UST 120" screen installation: ua-cam.com/video/QQdtpTJWdYw/v-deo.html
why is this a game changing technology?
Our screen rejects the ambient light, making contrast ratios 900% better than a matte white screen. Sony's projector is the only one that has a true 4k sensor, and is ultra short throw projector, with a laser light source.
Anyone know how much this is?
Xiaomi Mi 1080p shirt throw laser projector, 150 inch picture from 50cm. Small and portable, virtually silent. Laser said to last 32 years with average use. Cost? $1800, Sony needs to be damn good to warrant that kind of price
price
What is the cost of this projector
what's the life time of the projector bulb, I mean I often we need to change the bulb?
There is no bulb - it's a laser light source and it is rated for 20,000 hours.
What about Brightness compared to LCD or LED 120" 4k screens and What About compared to Frame Rates ?
Those are complex details coming down to lots of different variables such as screen size, projector output, technology, and screen gain. Safe to say though that we match and many times exceed the output of flat panel brightness.
CAN I PAY WITH BITCOIN TO BUY ONE. PLEASE REPLY ASAP
but is this a game changing technology?
forgive me for sounding dumb, but how, what and where are the speakers and sound system?
Blake is using floor standing tower speakers.
And here I am with my xga projector that's 2 metres from my wall and I get about 60 inches haha
What is the "gain" of the screen in this video?
.7
without knowing the price, I can't afford that .
How can I use a 2.35:1 Black Diamond Screen with a short throw projector like this one? I was thinking about using a Panamorph lens but I don't imagine it would work on an ST.
+Quintin Spina This screen is suited for short throw projectors only. We suggest at least a 1.5x throw on your projector lens to work properly with our Black Diamond screens. If you would like some more information on Panamorph lenses, we actually have two former Panamorph employees on our sales staff who would be happy to discuss that with you, or direct you to your local dealer.
Thank you for the quick reply! However, what I'm trying to accomplish is an ultra short throw, 2.35:1 set up. I'd like to stay away from a Panamorph lens if at all possible. Simply because it's another $3,000 I'd like not to spend. Of course, I would if I had to. Any advice on getting a 2.35:1 UST set up?
Quintin Spina Please send me a message with your email and contact information and I will forward your request to the appropriate person. Thank you!
price idea?
sir price
projection
Imagine bringing that while camping
I love my Sony projecter. I have a 100 inch forget a flat screen People love watching movies at my house
cute.
please Name Song start video and beatiful Home :)
Thats a lot of money for a room killer. It is right in the middle of the floor. Just does not go, I found it funny when he said you do not have to worry about walking in front of a light source and literally as he said that he is walking around the giant box in the middle of the walk way. Maybe if someone could integrate this into a nice credenza and not have it stick out like a sore thumb, I know for one my wife would never sign off on this for aesthetics purpose.
Funny you mention it, their new version which is smaller and brighter (see here: ua-cam.com/video/BWwuquXnW5A/v-deo.html) has been integrated by many cabinet makers such as Salamander and others. Most people have AV cabinets under their TV's anyway so it makes good sense.
That is a good start in the right direction, it does not look half bad on that little table it is on but I think they could do better at that price point. It could be fully integrated into a nice credenza where all you see is the credenza, then you just would not put anything over the throw lens. Couple that with one of your screens and bam, you have your self a viable product for that market. All they would have to do though really is be connected with a couple of high end custom furniture companies and make it available for the clientele to custom make theirs. I think that would make this idea pop!
Tnutt19 yep that's exactly what they are doing with salamander see here www.soundandvision.com/content/salamander-creates-credenza-sony-short-throw-projector
how many rupees..?
track pls
wow you are an amazing guy, can i come work for you ha. badass company you've built, how long have you been in business?
damn!! its cost $50,000....but its really amazing
May I have one for Christmas?
Ask Santa :)
Lose the LED lights behind the screen, that would really drive me crazy! Otherwise, I really like the set up.
I've got another question. Does this projector have HDR capabilities?
Not that i'm aware of.
Screen Innovations Damn. I thought the Digital 4K Projector had HDR (High Dynamic Range).
Sony is here today and the projector is about 10 feet away :) i'll check today. Thanks!
Screen Innovations - Tell Sony that I think their 4K Projector is a step in the right direction. I hope you can somehow hook your Directv, and or 4K Bluray player to it to watch both on the screen.
I just spoke with Sony's Marketing Manager and no, this projector does not have HDR. The vw5000 does however have 18gb/s on each input capable of HDR in 4k from any source (including gaming consoles)
How much ?
Oh you know, just a $50k projector sitting on my floor.
What is advised selling price of this nifty thing?
+Rutger+ Sony's projector is currently listed for retail ~$50k. If you combo this projector and our screen, flat panel is more than double that price at this size. While this combo may not be in everyone's wheelhouse, there are some much more affordable ultra short throw projector options out there, and two piece projection is drastically less expensive with standard throw projectors combined with screens such as our Black Diamond technology. www.screeninnovations.com/materials/ambient-materials/black-diamond/
It not being centered would drive me crazy. Lol.
50k? I'll take two!
PRICE?
Fucking awesome!!!🤤
why are projectors still not 1080p standard its kinda odd seeing a projector with an extremely low resolution
I'm not following you. This projector is 4k.
Oh sorry, i'm not talking about this one, in terms of the lower end so under $500 maybe, you get a lot of 720p and below. I should've been more specific
How much $$ ?
game- changing? yes, I'm sure. but 😲 that unit is big A.F.!!!
the backlit is totally screwed the nice projection
Beautiful projector is 120 the max for the screen size I have a 135" screen
+RichBshine1972 The max size, currently, of the Short Throw screen is 120-inches in 16:9. I believe the projector will project up to a 147-inch size.
+Screen Innovations thank you by the way I love your zero edge screens.I don't have one yet but defiantly in the future .
+RichBshine1972 Thanks! We love to hear that. Let us know when you're ready to upgrade.
What are the benefits of this over a TV
Much larger size, price per square inch, mobility, simple installation (large flat panels are very heavy)
Colton McCormack Yes, it still is. A 100" flat panel is over $100,000.
For the guy who can, it's the best that money can buy... that being said, the projector is not in everyone's wheelhouse. :) There are many great, very affordable alternatives out there that work well with our screen.
02:30 XD
i saw it at ces awesome projector.i was wondering who is gonna buy it for 50k ?
people with nice houses ,i guess.
awesome house you have !
+Gaming Verge Good luck... they are over $100k! Conversely - there are many ultra short throw options that aren't anywhere near $50k, but still have excellent performance.
what's the difference between this and the LSPXW1S
Not fully sure, but I believe that one is marketed towards the residential space and the other toward the commercial space. Check their website: www.sony.com/electronics/projectors-4k/lspx-w1s
Hello, the life space doesn't require a projection screen :)
Our screen preserves the contrast ratio of the projector - an increase in a measured 700% over a matte white, or standard wall surface. :) also texture is a major concern when projecting ultra short throw. See this graphic: www.screeninnovations.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/ScreenvsWall.jpg
looks like a coffee table
at 0:26 the screen is 21:9 so can the project change the aspect ration to the cinematic 2.35:1?
looks cool but it's a huge box (although good looking one)
HeadBassVTEC the ratio does not change by the projector, its on the image itself that you project, black bars will be added ._.
black screen is better than all white and greys screens..
It would be even more amazing if you could hide those lose wires :)
:)
Screen Innovations Were can I get one 😊
What is your location? Shoot me a private message and I'll get you set up with a dealer. Thx!
Screen Innovations It's very nice but your room has way too much windows and sun light that during light time say breakfast on the weekend it'd be more nicer on a 75 4k TV
That would look like a postage stamp sitting at the breakfast table :). Also, flat panels have a big problem with glare, especially in bright rooms like this one.
That is a huge box to simply sit on the floor in front of the room and it could be costly if someone trips and falls on it or kicks it or bashed it with a vacuum cleaner.
+Shiva Ji Most are placed higher off the ground than this or integrated into a cabinet system.
aaaaa, if I had money :/
Ah yes don't forget the $60,000 price tag.
Is to huge!
Should be 300.00 for a low budget 720p projector.
