Hi Amy. As a trainer and fitness business owner, I think the best thing you can say, and have said, is keep it simple. Eat less and move more. Right there you put your body in a calorie deficit and science proves you will lose weight. Start out simple. Take a walk. Skip the dessert. Eat an apple instead of a sugary dessert. I think people look for a quick, all or nothing, approach and that's what gets them into trouble. It looks like "wow, she lost weight so quick!" but it was consistent focus on the goal and not letting a lot of excuses get in the way. I've worked with a lot of people and the ones who lose the weight, but more importantly, keep it off, are the ones who make life changes and that includes myself. I had to start thinking about when/what I was eating and let some other things go. If it's time for me to eat, I stop and eat. It's took me a long time to say "no" to someone or to say, " I have to eat so give me 5 minutes and I'll be right with you" You have to be willing to do the work for the long haul. And if you miss a day of exercise, or eat too much at a meal, it's not the end of the world. Just get back to it the next day.
I’m the same way with meals. I try and meal plan like everyone in the world seems to do but in reality my mood and meals change from day to day. You are right, if you have the basics and main ingredients on hand you can put almost anything together!
You just radiate health from the inside out. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and you’ve always given me so much inspiration, whether it was cleaning, decorating or home projects, and now, just ways to take better care of myself. Thank you so much!

Hi Amy -- Just wanted to say thank you for this video. Found it very informative and decided to give Aldi another try. Went today and got the protein wraps, the Tzatziki, organic turkey breast, mini cukes, fresh greens and some feta cheese, made myself a wrap and couldn't be happier with my lunch. Picked up tons of fresh fruit and some cottage cheese to have for breakfast this week 😊

I live in Ohio too and was thinking are you not cold in your tank? I'm freezing today! If you want to make the meatloaf gluten free, my husband uses ground up pork rinds. He will actually smoke it in the smoker. I love that coconut granola from Aldi. I put in my yogurt. Delicious!

But for me i have to watch my sodium bc of heart failure and i also have to be careful to watch my potassium. These 2 things are not easy. I can always adapt recipes to suit me . I never salt anything so i have to relie on other spices. Mrs. Dash is my best friend. Always looking for ideas.
Amy a trick I learned when you par boil fresh cauliflower to roast throw in half a lemon par boil about 8 minutes then roast in a dish. Cheese garlic seasoning of choice. Let it brown some. It's amazing. Also I use radishes in place of potatoes in a beef roast. The family thinks it's red potatoes 😊

Don't be too hard on yourself. At 61 myself my Dr. told me we go through physical changes after we hit our 30's, 40's,50 and 60's. Keep active and eating healthier is a great start to feeling and being your best you. Hugs and encouragement sent to you.

I’ve been strength training for almost 2 years & am still lacking muscle definition. I feel I eat relatively healthy but clearly something still needs to change for me to reach the desired look that I’m going for. We love shopping at Aldi. Try the organic multi grain tortilla chips. They are really good. I lost 50 pounds last year and I’ve gained back 10 through the holidays. I’ve started working on getting that off plus need to lose more. I have to watch salt intake and carbs. I commend you for losing the weight and getting healthy. Wish I had taken better care of myself when I was younger. Good luck on your run.

Another way to sweeten oatmeal is to add vanilla extract. Cinnamon with peaches or bananas along with the vanilla is amazing!
