Here is a 12 episodes of mini documentary covering places in North Yunnan province. All with different ethnicities and cultures. Xishuangbana in South Yunnan is a tourist attraction too.
For a combination of culture, nature, and history, the surrounding cities around Shanghai, such as Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Wuzhen are all nice places to explore. For wild nature, west of Sichuan such as Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Bipenggou are beautiful places. In Qinghai province in summer, hundreds of miles of rape seeds flowers bloom. You could take HSR across the flower fields to attractions in west China. Grasslands in West China are beautiful in June with wild flowers. Syram Lake and Kanas Lake in Xinjiang are very beautiful places. Sanya in Hainan province is tropical getaway. Xiamen and Qingdao and Weihai are nice coastal cities with some colonial heritages.
I’m a Chinese who live in the US. I really like the way you guys show the real China to people. Many western media just created too much bias. Hope everyone watching this video can have a trip in China and enjoy it. My hometown is Inner Mongolia. Take some opportunity to visit there! Best in summer, never go there in winter because it’s very cooooooold!
How is it living in the US as a Chinese now, with the tension between the two countries? Do you get many questions about it?
We heard good things about inner Mongolia. We had visited Mongolia before coming to China, so decided to skip it this time.

10:57 i totally agree with you, sometimes when i take the bullet train especially 1st class or business class, i don't even care when it arrives and i just want to spend more time on the train...it was very comfortable.
Yes we find it to be very relaxing. Especially in 1st class it is so nice. We didn't take business class though, as it was quite expensive.
@@NaickKim You aren't missing much. Business class isn't really that revolutionary, especially for the ticket price.
If you can though, ride the slow trains on a sleeper overnight. It's beautiful if done through the mountains, highly scenic and very good for a tourist pace.
Those are second generation trains and will only do 250km/h, the newer third generation trains will hit 350km/h and the up and coming new trains will hit 600km/h
Wow, amazing! When will they be launched?
@@NaickKim The current high speed trains are classed as C(200km/h), D(250km/h) and G(350km/h). The 600/km/h maglev trains are suppose to be certified by 2021 and another 1000/km/h train is already in the works.
Naick & Kim if your train number starts with “D”, then 250km/h. If it’s “G” then quicker.
Naick & Kim The speed around 250km/h is HEXIE train, another one FUXING train can reach 350km/h, you can try to test it next time
@@NaickKim oh man, don't listen to their boasting, the 600km/h train is under researching and testing. And the 1000km/h train is just a conceptual design now, it is far from producing and put in use.
I was in CHINA for the very 1st time @Guangzhou (Formerly Canton) & was really impressed. The people are friendly and helpful actually. Enjoyed my week stay there & look 4ward to visit Beijing, Shanghai & Guilin in the very near future. ~ Lots of Love 😍 from MALAYSIA
Terima Kasi! Yes people are very friendly in China. You should definitely visit all those places, we really loved them. Beijing has such a rich history!
Have fun in Xi'an!! Theres so much to see and do and lots of delicious street food!
Thanks a lot guys! We watched some of your videos for inspiration! Really loved how you covered Xian.
Hong Kong is also a city in China that attracted a lot of tourists in the past, but there have been too many violent protests in Hong Kong recently. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. I personally recommend transiting through Hong Kong to Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Guangzhou (cities in Guangdong province). There is a high-speed railway. Tourists can travel from Hong Kong International Airport to Kowloon Station by Airport Express (this is a fast train but not the high-speed railway the media refers to), and then walk along a covered footbridge with good signage to the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, which is the high-speed railway station. There are always sufficient seats on high-speed railway trains, so there is no need to reserve in advance. I recommend travelling by High Speed Rail to Futian Station which is in the CBD of Shenzhen.
Yes we heard about the protests. Hong Kong seems to be not safe at the moment. When we visit Hong Kong and we want to go back to another city on China, we need a new visa. It's very inconvenient for us haha.
Yes we heard about the protests. Hong Kong seems to be not safe at the moment. When we visit Hong Kong and we want to go back to another city on China, we need a new visa. It's very inconvenient for us haha.
@@NaickKim Next time, fly to Hong Kong so that you just need one visa for mainland China.
We didn't fly, we came over land all the way from Belgium. We did 12.000km over land from Brussels to Beijing through Eastern Europe, Russia and Mongolia. So we had no choice haha.
@@NaickKim It's great Journey from Belgium to China over land
From Beijing to Shanghai, the bullet train will run at 350Km/h. And there is a Maglev in Shanghai runs at 430Km/h.
Wow, that is soooo fast. We thought about taking it, but it just runs from the city centre to the airport and we don't really have to be there.
@@ericlao1935 the maglev is very old compared to fuxing bullet trains. And yeah it was limited to 350 due to the railways being the old
Even I, a Chinese, am excited every time I travel by high speed train. It's so much more fun than taking a plane.
你这英文水平看得我尴尬症都犯了,我也才IELTS 6.5的水平勉强帮你改改。As chinese, I'm still excited every time when I take a bullet train. It's more fun than flying.

So glad you are impressed by China and are enjoying what it has to offer. With so much Anti-China bashing in the media these days, it is refreshing to see how average people do really enjoy China's progress and freedom! Thanks for sharing your fun videos!
Glad you enjoyed our video. We really enjoyed China.
Not quite super FIRST Class but still very good. When you get super first class you sit in a cabin with just five seats directly behind the driver. From Xian to Beijing been there done that but I did not really appreciate it the time as I was quite ill from a lung infection and my dear Chinese wife booked first class urgent from Xian to Beijing. It was very fast & her family were waiting to take me to the top international hospital in Beijing the moment we arrived. The hospital doc put me a strong antibiotics & the family took me into their home & cared for me for a week til I recovered. That's family in CHINA & I'm the only westerner in the family but they treat me so well like a rare panda. Go ahead, pat him, treat him well, he won't bite & I love them all. Just lucky I guess to have such a family!
Oh I think you mean the business class seats? We wanted to try that but ultimately decided not to because of our budget :) a rare panda, oh my god I love that :D glad to hear that you recovered well from your lung infection, that must have been quite scary I imagine. Your family seems to have a heart of gold!
China is a family country. You see it every day in every city at all times of the day - morning, afternoon, evening. Parents, children, grandparents all out enjoying themselves. It's the MAIN reason why China is such a safe country...
Unlike many western countires where the individual is emphasised and taken to extremes by some it becomes selfishness. And they do what they want without regard to others around them.
Maybe, you know here is a country for old people. They like you.
The one shows on this video is more like the Premium Economy Class,The better one is business class, feels like the business class on airplane..
I'm glad that you really enjoy your trip in China and take a relaxing and happy browse!
Thanks a lot!
China police are very nice, if you have any problem about Attractions/ Museum /High Speed Train/ Train /Metro / Bus /Plane Ticket or traffic , Just ask for China police help !
China police english is not that well , but they are still very happy to help you !
By the way, Xi'an Citizen is very enthusiasm to help Tourist !

Thanks a lot! The police are indeed very nice here in China. When we were lost they were always very helpful and polite to show us the way.

That’s a great experience, love you guys!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
In January 2008 while living in Beijing, I took the then “express” train from Beijing to Xian. It was the fastest train to Xian, and amazingly it was 12 hours non-stop. We left at 7 pm and arrived at 7 am with ZERO stops. That may have been a record at the time for travel without stopping. The average speed was probably 50 km per hour, slow but steady. It had a fancy dining and bar car and great sleepers. My best experiences on trains were on the regular slow trains where you can connect with regular Chinese at a human speed. I mean slow. Learning “slow living” is a nice change from the high speed world.
Yes we had a great time too on the slower trains (we have a video where we take the slow train from Shanghai to Guilin). It took us 20hours. But it was a great experience.
The distance between Beijing and Xian is 1,100km, which means that your average speed was 91.7 km/h.
@@jackl420 why build a train in a stright line when the train goes through lots of cities?
So glad you enjoyed the trip so much. You cracked me up. Really enjoyed your video.
thank you! Glad we could make you laugh ;) we love those bullet trains. Never been in such a comfortable train in our lives!!
Thank you guys for bringing me back my hometown with your vlog. I miss Xi’an so much. And best wishes from Deutschland, have a wonderful journey.👍🏼
Wie geht's in Deutschland? Wo wohnen sie in Deutschland?
Sorry our German is quite bad haha. I can understand you would miss Xi'an, especially the great food there!
I absolutely love this video of your tour of the high speed train! Thanks for this!
Thanks a lot! We will also take the slow train (for 20 hours haha). We'll also share our experience with that one! Glad you liked it.
What do you think about the high speed train?
@@NaickKim Let's just say I'm a fan of high speed trains and not of slow ones haha. Overall, I think it's very impressive that China has managed to construct such an extensive system in such a short time. I'm looking forward to trying it one day. I've travelled extensively on the Shinkansen in Japan, but never in China cause I haven't had the opportunity to do a grand China road trip... will do it soon!
Yes the slow train in China is... VERY different from the high speed one haha. The high speed one is super modern, super clean, very comfortable. The slow train is not any of that. Nothing beats the experience of the first class bullet train here.
The high speed train in Japan must be really amazing too! Japan is pretty much number one in countries we want to visit. But it's quite expensive so we can't fit it into our budget right now.
@@NaickKim I can imagine there would be a huge difference between the fast and slow trains. It is aligned with the huge income gap in China, which is slowly closing (apparently, the rate is fast if you take into account the entire span of history that we’ve experienced in the past 2 centuries), but yes. The Shinkansen in Japan is a dream. If you love trains, you will LOVE the Shinkansen. Please let me know if you ever plan on traveling to Japan. I am very familiar with the country as I have traveled there many times (and also I teach a class at Kyoto University of Art and Design, but it’s a small class of 4 artists and I go once every 2 years haha) so I will be able to give you lots and lots of tips about what to see. It is quite expensive, but if you get the Japan Rail Pass- you can have unlimited train rides for either 7, 14 or 21 days, and you can LITERALLY zoom up and down Japan as if you own the railways!
Thanks a lot! We'll take you up on that offer haha! Japanese art and design class, sounds really interesting!

The Chinese bullet trains are incredible! Such a great system built really quickly! We were so pleasantly surprised by it. They also have spicy Oreo flavours!
same for us! Spicy Oreo flavours, really? You mean like chili or something? We haven't come across any spicy Oreos here yet...
@@NaickKim Pretty sure they were chilly. We didn't try them as these ones didn't happen to be vegan, but we were facinated it!
Now we have to go on the hunt for these Oreos! Was this in China too?
You guys are vegan? How is that like when you are travelling?
@@NaickKim Yes, in China! And there are more unusual flavours too. We found them mostly in supermarkets and small group ery stores with snacks. Yes we are - it's actually fairly easy in 90% of places we've been to. In China, for example, any restaurant in a Buddhist Temple will be vegan (it's a thing in strict Chinese Buddhism) and people understand it in that context! We do pretty well mostly! 😀
First time see your vblog, nice job ! You guys are funny 😄
Thank you Steven! Glad you liked it :) where in the world are you from?
One nice thing about first class. You'll be there just as quick as the rest of the people on the train .
