- Mega Final Fight: This is a game made from scratch for SEGA Mega Drive
This video shows the new Mega Drive mode, showing the new opening, new music and a gameplay test of the new character Maki.
The emulator used is Retroarch with Genesis Plus GX core + 60% filter + Nuked YM2612.
Be aware this is a WIP (Work In Progress), you will see some bugs and probably some changes will happen in the future, be it graphics, gameplay or other features.

Dude! This is an awesome version of one of my favorite games growing up. The Genesis/Mega Drive sounds so much like the CPS1 board. Far superior to the SNES version. And I LOVE the boss music.
The music in this port is really impressive. I wonder what could've been done if tools like SGDK were around in the 90s...
WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK! This is truly truly incredible. Captain Commando is likely my favourite beat-em-up after Final Fight. Thank you for making dreams come true.

Dang. You're really going all out with this. I'd say this is more interesting than the Final Fight remake we got on Game Boy Advance. And that music while you're fighting Damnd... where did THAT come from? It's awesome! I've never heard that before in a Final Fight game.
One suggestion: make Maki's dress a little more vibrant. Other than that, big thumbs up.

Totalmente es un Nintendon't en toda regla, que no consiguieron añadir los tres personajes del final fight y han añadido en este fanmade a mas personajes.
Espero que agreguen más personajes y tanto enemigos (la versión de Poison y Roxy americana) como héroes y heroínas
@@georgalexan3670En la Versión de SNES ya hicieron Hack-roms de Final Fight sin Censura y Restauró Poison y Roxy y también la Sangre, Los Nombres Damnd y Sodom, Restauró a Dug el Color y la Frase de (OH MY GOD) y también incorporó para 2 jugadores y también jugar con Guy y ojalá Hagan el Stage de Industrial Area y el Jefe Rolento en la SNES.

This new Mega Drive mode is awesome with new playable characters and some changes over the original game to make it feel fresh! Looking forward to more updates!

Awesome. And the touch of having the Final Fight 2 music included as a boss theme is cool.
Street Fighter Alpha alternate costumes for Guy and Cody like in the GBA version would be cool.

I'd pay for a MK II 32X CD remake/port with bigger sprites and all the arcade sounds and tracks! is my dream! 😍
At the moment we don't have a 32x version in our scope, but who knows in the future?

Back then I had a SNES, but I played a lot of Genesis games with my cousin (he owned it). We used to rent a lot of Genesis games. We had many week-ends where I brought my SNES to his place and we'd rent SNES and Genesis games on the same day. It was amazing. Now, with this said, the type of games we rented the most on the Genesis were Beat 'em Ups (and a lot of Road Rash in the mix).
But if _back then_ this Mega Final Fight had been available and was an official release... let me tell you this: I would have cried to my mom to get a Sega Genesis as well. I was content with my SNES but a Beat 'em Up like THIS on the Genesis besides my usual go-to Streets of Rage 2, Double Dragon and Golden Axe would have been too much to endure _not_ having it home. I was already VERY close back then asking my mother for a new system and I knew she wouldn't accept so I never asked for a Genesis. But my God man... the Genesis / Mega Drive... what a superb system it was (and still is of course). It should have had way more than it already had. It was already impressive but it could have done a lot more (and even 'better' too).
Another example recently that just blew my mind is a fan remake of the original Genesis Mortal Kombat to be closer to Arcade accurate as possible and HOLY jeebus it's incredible. If THAT Mortal Kombat had been the one we had at the time it would have destroyed our poor kids' minds. I don't think anyone would have even believed it. So yeah seeing things like this fan-made "Genesis Take On" game 'x' (name it, anything) is amazing in showing what this system could REALLY do and how in reality we probably got to see maybe just half of its potential at the time.
This is incredible, looking great! You cannot believe how I cheered when Cap showed up!

The sounds so clean for a MD game... how on earth do you improve the quality? Simply Amazing.
Cart space was one of the major limiting factors. With more space you can store more audio samples, more tiles, more animations, everything.
Watching this again it would have been awesome if Carve a Dragon Wood (song playing at the end) played from the start of the level when using Maki, just feels so much like her theme song.
Looking forward to this project I also like the name change to Mega Final Fight. So much more fitting! 😁

It’s impressive but could do without the sci-fi junk, would love a game with maki, dean and Carlos in FF1. Though.

Earlier today, I played the downloadable demo on a real Sega Genesis console and it also ran on a Genesis clone. The graphics don't utilize "dithering" to fake colors, so it looks good in both composite and S-Video. The official Sega CD version only looks good through composite due to the heavy reliance on dithering; this homebrew does not rely on that technique.
You can definitely tell it is a beta and maybe it should reduce the number of enemy characters for smoother play. Truly fantastic. Even as it is, were it finished today it would still be an astonishing and superior achievement.
I'm also wondering if the "engine" could even be re-used to port other CPS1 games, like Cadillacs & Dinosaurs.
There is still room for optimizations, I believe it will be perfectly plausible to maintain performance in the future with two players and 4 enemies at 60 FPS, or 6 enemies at 30 FPS on a standard console. Now at 60 FPS with 6 enemies, only on overclocked CPU.
Regarding the technology developed for the game (FightOne Power), it can be used to create any other beat'em up as long as it is within the limits of the console.

I always thought that Capcom was lazy in terms of not having boss music. I am glad you added one.
@IgaKoga Groundbreaking in what exactly? The characters were moving like robots having no standing animation and having a basic moveset. If we are gonna talk groundbreaking game of its era look no further than Streets of Rage 2. Every beat em up after it always getting compared with SOR2 as SOR2 is the pinnacle of beam em ups.

La elección de colores dentro de lo limitado del megadrive y los Sprites son excelentes. El audio es óptimo es especial las voces. Gracias por obsequiar a la comunidad retro con este tipo de maravillas basadas en los clásicos de antaño.
Bro the FF demo was spectacular..even the color tone was better then the arcade.
Final fight, One of the most iconic titles I have ever played, absolutely amazing, going to the arcades, insert those coins and having the crowd around you waiting to play next, and now we have it all at home on our pcs trying to make these amazing games alive.

So... "Mega Final Fight" is a much better name than "FF ultimate". Personally, I had the idea that it should have been called "Final Fight MD", but "Mega FF" is perfectly fine that too.

Great gameplay!, i hope you fixed how the enemies react (animation) when Haggar hits them on their stomaches. Maki's costume is a little bit dark, but i guess you are using Guy's palette, which looks like in the Snes port. But still a great improvement to the last video. See ya.

I have no doubt that the SNES could make a game like this. The graphics would have more colors, but maybe at times the speed could be compromised.

Você consegue estimar quantos por cento do jogo já está pronto?
Apesar do engine estar pronto e os sprites também, ainda faltam muitos ajustes, testes e o posicionamento dos objetos nas fases. Se for contar o índice geral eu poderia dizer que entre 50 a 60% está pronto.
