I'm actually one of those ones that love the headlights on the 01' 996 Mk1 edition which are just slightly different from this one, but yes I've heard the hate and I'm totally on the opposite side. I find them to be a lot better than just some ovals or circles, plus it made an appearance in Gone In 60 Seconds and Mission Impossible 2 which I grew up watching so I've always been a fan, definitely an underrated car. Thanks Raiti, you're the best! 💪
Hey Raiti! I love your videos! Just a suggestion / idea.. have your film crew record you doing the on throttle action outside of the vehicle as well! I think it would add a new exciting element to the videos.
Always a passionate, comprehensive and well-done review 🙏🏽 That being said not everyone wants to do the dance and as you know automatic transmissions have come a long way, have heard great things about the PDK.
Also, the turbo is only slightly faster than a C5 ZO6 at The ‘Ring. The difference is that the turbo can lap after lap, but the Vette is overheating issues.
I did hot laps up in your neck of the woods in a '78 Porsche 930 Turbo on the Sebring track. Very, very fast on the average dragstrip, but at that track it was the tail happiest hot car l ever drove. Spun out on my first lap! The owner, a Doctor friend of mine was scared to death of it. I wasn't, but l learned that day why the Porsche 928s was so popular.
Someone owned it for 20 years, put 60k miles on it, and get more than what they paid. I would never get a great looking car like a 911 in black. Needs brighter or bolder color. Black hides the lines and creases. Save black for ugly cars.
Disappointed in you that you didn’t really dive into why these cars aren’t actually sought after. The 996s engines are ticking timebombs. One main issue is the ims bearing. The other is bore scoring. Both of these repairs cost 5 figure repair jobs.
That’s the base models and not the Mezger engines in the turbo and GT cars. It was also a very small percentage of the production that happened to. Also, there’s a fix for that if someone is paranoid of the IMS failing.
Such a timeless vehicle it’s 20 years old and still looks better than most vehicles on the road today.
you had me at "Hi, I'm Joe Raiti" with that murdered out Porche in the background. Love it! Thanks Steven for your great videography!
You are really awesome
My 2001 911 with aerokit still spins heads. The headlight is an hommage to the GT1.
The reason why the mighty GT1 had them is because they are productions headlights. The same ones off a Boxster
Gotta love FL humidity 🙃 affecting your lens
The 996 Porsche 911 is so underrated
That is an underrated statement!
100% agreed. I got to drive one and fell in love.
Shut up, man!
It's nice to know the older models have real value. I would change out the pads real fast. I love the Porsche philosophy in the GT3.

It's a nice reminder that the only changes that screens have added to our driving experience are frustration and a higher price.
Bingo! You are so spot on
Hey, Joe! My love for Corvettes will not allow me to get into an even smaller car. No Porsche for me 😂
Great spec. More awesome content from the Raiti's Rides team.
Thanks for taking a late night ride with me
Those tire tread marks on the asphalt are known as Joe Raiti's signature.
I’m liking that Hans!
11:37 music to my ears!
Same her for sure!
@RaitisRides oh Yeah absolutely Unbelievable

was this recorded in VHS?

Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
Any Porsche, any year, is a great Porsche Joe.
Love them all.
Nice video, thanks for your work.
I like the way that you think! You are so very wellcomed
Such a beautiful car!
The Targa model goes hard too
Sourced a Porsche 991.2 C4 GTS for me yet, Joe? Great film as always pal
Old is gold
Omg that sounds beautiful
Legendary Mezger engine! Great video 😊😊😊
That’s frickin sweet man
Wow awesome Porsche sports car from the 2000s to review
I’m so glad that I can share it with you
Wish they made vehicles like this these days. Scrap all the excess technology and crap and get back to the basics and what makes driving truly special
Timeless
I like they say tin think
My 2004 terminator stock made 390hp last 4 years and now makes 800whp
Dang! Now we are talking!
Terminators are sick🔥
@@996Revival Facts
The tiptronic is good in a turbo, actually😎
Love your car video
Thanks for your dedication
@@RaitisRides Welcome
Most people won't know how old that car is. They'll think it's maybe 10 years old instead of 20
I totally agree with you Tom
Ya non car people that don’t matter
I wish the 996 GT3 had the widebody like the C4S and turbo.
I would be happy owning any year gt3 brother - oh yeah
These have been good contenders for k swaps given the common engine failure and the hoards of money to fix it
Looks great
It was like Dylan goin' electric!
I see what you did there
Joe, please correctly pronounce the Swedish suspension Ohlins not as O-lins but rather Ooh-LEANS. Love your videos!
I appreciate the help! Thanks for the feedback
Shout out Steven.
He is the man with the plan!
Classic Ride....Boom.
heck yeah!
Dream car
Break pad noise ruins it for a daily or a weekender
That thing is so sick
did i hear rotor wear?
Back when driving a sports car was measured in smiles per gallon.
Im going to have to ZONK this video for calling the PDK garbage
Nothing like a sweet shifting manual
Did I actually say that?
Heat and humidity causing your lens to fog up.😅
It was bad that morning in Florida
*Beginning funds transfer* I want this car. lol
This is the best comment
That camera need to clean 🧼
There’s a ghost in front of the camera
$120 grand for this??? Too many old nostalgic guys with too much money around looks like lmao 😂😂😂
Yup insanely overpriced, pay a bit more for a brand new 911 instead of
Way overpriced

Oh man that is one heck of a story
Doesn't the gt3 have the exhaust in the middle
Depends what generation it is
2024➖️2004 🟰 20 YEARS.
Man, the auto industry has changed, brother. But NOT Porshe!
Mostly changed for the worse...
You better believe it brother!
gettin that used car salesman vibe here lol
Is this a old video was just watching the Highlander video
Nope I just filmed it last week
Who farted on your camera lens
It was Steven 😂
Can't wait to spend >$100k for a 20-year-old car with squeaky brakes because that's normal for race/street pads. 😅
Where's my aplogies?

Amen too bad so many still get black. Red 4 me
@@DriveFastDriveHard for me too. But I also like yellow or green and even white.
thats way over priced. You're better off just saving a little more and just getting a newer high end sports car.
🤍🖤 love porsches I always wanted one🎉🎉🎉
All black looks awful on 911, that’s a major zonk. Save it for the crappy Altima
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

yessir!

Take Japan to automate a Ugly Headlight, Exterior Motive, 😅
996 are the ugliest 911's. I would never even consider it as a "greatest" in any category, even with the GT3 badge. Just my opinion.
$119k for this 20 year old beetle 😂 I’d get at 718 RS for the money. Edit: I meant a GTS I’ve been looking at….see link 👇
You better have an extra $100k available
Yeah good luck with that
@@kimchee411 at least you have good taste in food! I wonder if Raiti likes kimchi? I’m thinking he’s never had it 🤷🏻♂️
I can do better with 120k
100k 😅 tf outta here
What do you think the price should be?
pdk garbage? hmmm
